We came here with friends on Saturday night. I ordered the fried fish dinner that came out over cooked and rubbery. The salad and fries were great. My husband ordered the Reuben and said it was wonderful. I ended up requesting a burger instead with provolone and grilled onions. Again, it came out missing onions but I was tired of complaining and everyone else at my table was almost Done eating at this point. The burger was incredible, even without the onions, and it was huge. I wish I had just ordered this to begin with. Next time we come, I will just get a burger. First off, after we were seated we were greeted by Joey himself. This is someone who is very invested in his community and his customers. He was very friendly and great with our boys who were with us. The food was great. We specifically went to try the burgers and they were large, well cooked, and delicious. The atmosphere is dark, old dive bar but the burgers were large and juicy. Ordered my burger medium well but was more like medium because it was thick in the middle. Had a good flavor and juice ran down my face when I bit into it. Guy at bar, who I assumed was the owner, was loud and came over and talked to us. Presume he was a little hard of hearing as he went in the back to take a phone call an we were able to enjoy every expletive that he uttered to the person on the other end. We drove 40 minutes to try this place, and definitely were not disappointed. The burgers were delicious. You can tell they are handmade, not frozen patties - thick, cooked to order and really, really good. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. The bartender recommended the cheese sticks for an appetizer, as they are also handmade - another decision we did not regret. I think our only regret was being too full to try the homemade crab cakes for dinner as well as the burgers. Definitely a great neighborhood bar. read more
