I had a prophylaxis 10 days ago and I had a great experience with the front desk, the hygienist, and the doctor, I noticed some remaining calculus while flossing shortly after the appointment. When I called to request a brief visit to have this removed, I was informed by the manger that I would need to schedule a full exam with the doctor to identify the "problem" and that my insurance would be billed for this visit. While I understand my insurance may cover the cost, I feel that charging for a follow-up to address incomplete work from the initial cleaning is unfair. I believe it would be more appropriate to offer a brief appointment as a professional courtesy to ensure the cleaning is completed properly, rather than billing insurance for an additional exam. read more

This place is always trying to get my money. I have never had so many treatment plans at a dental practice until I started visiting Cameron Family Dentistry. Additionally, the schedulers do not work with patients schedule at all. I call months in advance to reschedule and they don't offer anything until two months after the desired date. Of course, they are quick to book major work. Not so diligent with cleanings-preventive care. Oh, and the dentist are constantly revolving. read more

I have been several times and have had a bad experience every time all they want is your money . If you had to have a tooth pulled they would charge you to clean it first. I ordered and paid for a flexible partial and got a hard acrylic partial and they said it was better but that was not what I paid for. Done with them, I would not recommend them at all. read more

I've been using this dental office for over 5 years since I've relocated. I absolutely love them! They keep up with my cleanings and give courtesy calls and text to remind you. I see hygienist Evelina. She is gentle and gives great advice on avoiding cavities. When your patients can tell you have a toxic work environment, you know it's bad. That's just one of many things wrong with this place. Several months ago, I came for a cleaning and there was a new trainee and I felt so bad for her. The dentist Galatas and his assistant was so condescending to her and really didn't help her learn anything. Another thing, sending an empty threat out of the blue without ever contacting me saying I'm late on a payment with no description? So professional. Also, I had two different appointments on the same day and asked the receptionist how long this dental appointment would take. She said no longer than 30 minutes so I scheduled another appointment in Raleigh 2 hours later after the estimated end time. The dental appointment actually took 1.5 hours! When I mentioned this to Galatas, he seemed so apathetic with his non-apology and said something like we can never predict the estimated times for appointments... but allows his receptionists to give random estimates? These experiences really showed me that this business is just money hungry and doesn't care about its patients. They really need to take the "Family" part out of their name read more

I've been here several times for various cleanings, exams and fillings. I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've literally NEVER had a good experience. 1. Receptionists are often rude/short/cold/judge mental. 2. Dentist had to give me the numbing injection 3 times before I finally went numb for a filling. THREE TIMES. I was there for over an hour before they even started the work. It was so unnerving - does this guy even know why he's doing? He can't even get me numb??? 3. Bad communication between exams/the work that needs to be done and what receptionist schedules you for. Front desk and dental team are always talking bad about each other and blaming each other for miscommunications. 4. Angela. I've had an issue with her every single time I come in. Went to this dentist to find a new provider after my father retired and although I haven't been to a dentist in a year, they said I had 9 cavities on multiple surfaces of multiple teeth (which costs more money than having multiple cavities on one surface) when I haven't had a cavity in my life and have not changed my hygiene habits. The dentist said that I needed fillings and that there was some tooth decay. I didn't have any questions at the time, but I remembered that fillings mean cavities shortly after she left and when I asked the assistant if I had cavities, she said I had 9. The dentist had zero concern for my hygiene habits that would get me to the point of needing 9 cavities filled. They did not polish my teeth, and they charged me $70 for a "deep cleaning" and they wanted me to come in for quarterly cleanings. They tried getting me to get a mouth guard for grinding my teeth and asked if I wanted to get my VERY small chip in my tooth fixed. I've had second and third opinions and can confirm that I only had one small cavity (couldn't see any on my X-rays), am fine with getting biannual cleanings, and that getting my chip taken care of would cause more damage to the tooth than leaving it. Feels like malpractice to me. Would not recommend this location at all. read more

Took my son in, exam was fine everything went well and we went back to have additional work done. My son is 5 and this was his first experience with needles and having an extraction. I was told I had to leave the room! They were not kind about it nor did they even try to assure me that things would be ok for my son. Initially it was because of the nitrous and it causing miscarriage, after telling them I CANT physically have kids I was told it was because of blood and needles and someone passing out and hitting their head! Then it was because of COVID. A WEEK PRIOR my husband was able to sit with our ten year old through her whole appointment! Nitrous was given and needles were used and he wasn't asked to leave once. The office manager couldn't keep her story straight. This is not ok, they didn't tell me ahead of time otherwise I never would have wasted my time! Front office staff is good though! Very nice ladies! Maybe they should get a consent waiver? Maybe they should be better organized. I'm sure they can figure out a way to make it all work read more

What a great experience I had at the dentist!! I'm usually really scared to go to the dentist but this place made me and my kids feel very comfortable. They even have a special play area in the waiting room for the kids so they don't run around. The office looks amazing with a modern design to it. I felt like I was at a nice hotel or spa!! The staff is super nice and the team of Dentist that work there are so friendly and good!! I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm looking forward to going back to the dentist! I'm a disabled senior citizen veteran with no insurance. I wanted 2 teeth fixed that were falling apart. I even told the Dentist I want the economical plan. After the screening, I was shocked to see all the crowns he wanted to put in, even if they didn't need it, but for cosmetic reasons. No one gave me a price list of all the extras it costs to have this done. I paid $2500 cash to have the work done, so I thought. When I went to get the crowns put back on and have a left side "deep cleaning," they wanted me to pay another $350 for the cleaning that wasn't any different than a 99 dollar cleaning and for only one side. $750 for a deep cleaning that took 30 minutes! They charged me $75.00 for 5 minutes of Nitros of which most patients use it the entire procedure. The doctor removed mine after the shots. The doctor and both the technician hurt me during the placement of the crowns since I did not get a shot. After I realized that the approximately $3000.00 that I ended up paying was only the beginning, I cancelled the remainder of my right side, that included another crown and deep cleaning or whatever else on this "economy" plan. All they want is money and didn't listen to the fact I wanted the minimum necessary treatment. I would not recommend them to anyone; however, will express how I was manipulated in getting more work than I had asked for. I don't trust them as a provider and they surely wanted to get as much out of this old guy as they can (my opinion). read more

I highly recommend coming here. The staff is nice and friendly as soon as u walk in the door, and believe it or not my children aren't to go to the dentist. They will often ask me, "is it time to go to the dentist to get me teeth cleaned" :) Dr. Galatas and his team are the best. read more

Nice staff and dental hygenists. But, don't have any crowns put on by Dr. Galatas. I had 3 done. One is causing severe pain. Another has minor pain. The emergency number on their answering machine does not work so had to go to emergency room (to no avail). Dr. Hall is good but is not always available. read more

Do not use this dentist. If you have to reschedule an apt, they will charge you a $60 "reschedule" fee without notifying you upfront or having signed any contract informing you of this. It came across like anger. read more

I highly recommend Cameron Family Dentistry!! On Friday one of my older fillings fell out of my tooth while I was working. I went online to request an appointment and within the hour I received an email from the office letting me know they could get me in first thing on Monday, pricing options, and that I could schedule my appointment using email since I was working. On Monday Dr. Galatas was very friendly and after completing my dental work he took his time explaining to me exactly how the procedure went and what to expect. Dr. Galatas and his staff made me feel like a very valued patient, as I did not feel rushed at all.
