My daughters backpack on the ground.

I signed my daughter up for summer camp here and the programs are very disorganized, lots of young teenagers who don't know what they're doing. I picked up my daughter multiple times and every time it's very chaotic and unprofessional. One of the staff members (purple shirts) yelled out "We are off at 5 o'clock on the dot", as I'm there at 4:35 picking her up... All of the kids backpacks are tossed on the ground all over the dirty grass. She will come home with her lunchbox full of ants. I started putting ice packs in her lunches because they have them hanged in the scorching sun. She lost a pair of brand new goggles and never made it to the lost n found.. and if you don't find your stuff in there by Friday they will donate it to goodwill. I'm not sure what my daughters daily routine there is or what they are teaching our kids.. The program descriptions on their website are vague and unpromising. They say they do arts and crafts, but all she has brought home is coloring pages.. they definitely try to make it seem like it's more than they offer. One day I was told that my daughter didn't want a male teacher to take her to the bathroom and that they were low staff and she was going to have to cooperate with them. Make sure you back lots of ice water for your child because they go outside at 2pm -5pm for pick up.. my daughter is drenched in sweat everyday when I get her. I'm sorry but for 360$ a week, this will be a HARD pass for me.

    Lots of TVs.

GREAT GYM! I always assumed the "Y" (as it's affectionately known) was a place for geriatrics unafraid to meander in the locker room totally nude and soccer moms who hog all the cardio equipment... I'm not admitting I was wrong with my assumptions, I'm simply saying this "Y" is much, much better than I expected. First and foremost, the gym is extremely clean with a 55% cardio to 45% weight lifting equipment ratio (all of which is very, very new). Second, the staff is extremely friendly :) Third, the pool is heated and the life guards are happy to help you get into a lane if the pool is busy. Last but not least, the caliber of people you end up working out alongside are great. They are polite, friendly, and always appear to be upstanding folks. I'm never concerned that my wife is going to get hit-on or stared at while working out because those kind of folks workout elsewhere. So if you're looking for a great gym with an awesome atmosphere you have found it. Now just do what I do and never look down or around in the locker room and you won't have any issues! :)

There are certainly a fair share of members that have put in the work (which can be motivating or intimidating depending on your POV). It seems there are always a few trainers and clients occupying the space at any given time. And, "Yes", there are tripods, cameras and content creators floating around. Nonetheless, every interaction with other members and staff has been cool. People either keep to themselves or, otherwise, are generally respectful and nice. The great thing about this gym is that there multiple types of machines to hit whatever body part you're working on. If your favorite machine is taken, there is always another option available. Otherwise, grab a dumb bell. It is certainly seems more weightlifting focused than cardio (or Crossfit) focused as the cardio section occupies less than 20% of the floor space maybe. Also there is a very small area for stretching in the cardio area. The rest is free weights and a good supply of plate loaded machines. If strength training or hypertrophy is the focus, there is no reason you can't get it done here. I only have the basic membership so I can't comment on the other premium amenities. My only gripes: 1) Sometimes it seems a little stuffy. There are big fans and AC but still... 2)The piped in music can be overwhelming. Their speakers go to 11. Noise cancelling headsets help. 3) Because of the layout and the quantity of equipment, it doesn't take much to get congested in some areas of the gym. Sometimes, I feel like I'm dodging people, sharp corners, bars, and duffle bags, navigating the floor space. Schedule accordingly. The gym area and bathrooms are always clean. There is a great selection of equipment and free weights. The equipment itself is nice and in great condition. Good place to get at it.

After signing up, I discovered that the showroom and dark room were accessible to all membership tiers, eliminating the exclusivity that justified the higher price. Additionally: The sauna has been out of service since my enrollment. The frost room has not been functioning properly or reaching effective temperatures. I have not used this membership. When I attempted to resolve this directly with management, including speaking with Keanu Latinette, the interaction was disappointing. Instead of maintaining a calm and professional tone, the conversation became unnecessarily confrontational. I was simply requesting a reasonable downgrade consistent with the services actually being provided. Rather than working toward a fair resolution, the gym continues pursuing substantial charges. If you are considering the Premier tier, verify amenity availability and exclusivity in writing before signing. Transparency and professionalism matter.

Each class is 45 minutes, typically divided into 3-4 stations, so there's always something different. The trainers here are incredible--they motivate and push you to reach your potential. They're also great at modifying exercises if you're injured, sore, or need an easier alternative. I recommend arriving about 5 minutes early to stretch and get set up. One of the best things about a membership is that you can visit all the other NXPT locations. While I haven't been to them yet, I like knowing they offer classes like spin and yoga. You sign up for any class through the NXPT app. The community is welcoming to everyone, regardless of fitness level. You'll feel right at home whether you're new to working out or an experienced athlete. They also offer fantastic deals, like 10 days for $10 (if you're new that's the best deal to start), and couple packages. As of September 2024, the Santee location has classes at 4:30 AM, 5:30 AM, 7 AM, 8 AM, 9 AM, 3 PM, 4:30 PM, and 5:30 PM. Fridays don't have the 5:30 PM class, and on Saturdays, there are two classes: 7 AM and 8 AM. Pro tip: The wifi password is 'khaleesi' (no quotes). If you value your health, be extremely cautious about the Santee 24 Hour Fitness. The conditions in the sauna and steam room are absolutely filthy. They have not been properly cleaned or disinfected in over a month. We are talking about visible grime and unsanitary buildup in high-moisture areas--a literal breeding ground for bacteria and mold. It is disappointing to pay a monthly membership fee for a facility that refuses to maintain basic hygiene standards. I have already filed a formal complaint with the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Cal/OSHA because management here clearly doesn't care about member safety or facility upkeep. Until they deep-clean these areas and prove they have a daily sanitation schedule, I would highly recommend looking at other gyms in the area. Note to Management: Don't reply with a generic "we're sorry" template. Actually clean the gym.

Instead, she helped me reset, get real about my goals, and build habits that actually worked. By my wedding in June 2024, I was down 40 lbs and 10% body fat and I felt strong, confident, and truly proud of how I looked and felt walking down the aisle. I've taken 150+ of her classes and they're always fun, varied, and challenging. She creates a supportive environment, encourages growth, and keeps things fresh each week. Her TRX class is one of my all-time favorites. Anel - My first-ever Pilates instructor and a big reason I stuck with it. She teaches a more classical style and clearly explains form and function, which built my confidence early on. Consistent warmups, always-changing flows, and uplifting energy that carries you through class. Jenni G. - A newer instructor to me and now a weekly favorite. She's super attentive (always remembers my lower back issue), offers great modifications, and gives cues that just click. Her flow and TRX classes are fun, challenging, and set to great music. A great pick for beginners or anyone leveling up. Stacy C. - Somehow both challenging and calming. She has a peaceful, encouraging presence and checks in with everyone during class with gentle corrections and praise. I love how she weaves in anatomy and form education--her classes fill up for a reason. One thing I will say is I've noticed there is often not front desk staff at this studio. Instructors seems to be able to help with any logistical stuff like scheduling a class or buying merchandise, but if you have questions about your membership, payment cycles, referrals/discounts or anything like that--you may be better off calling at a different time of day or just emailing the studio.
