This is a great hospital. The new addition is a huge improvement from what it was. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

They have valet which is awesome when you're to sick to walk from the parking lot to the entrance. They offer you a wheelchair if you need one when you walk in. But getting someone to push is is a battle. Half the staff if very nice. The doctors however aren't. They lack communication and they think of reasons to keep you there. The lab team is also a hit or miss with good lab techs and not so good ones. The staff doesn't listen to your needs and they always require extra things needed before you go home. There food is very bland. They have an extensive menu but when you're there fora week or me and frequently it gets Very old. It's like hometown cooking stick to your ribs food. Plus they have limited hours and the food is usually delivered cold. The beds aren't comfortable and you can never rest while you're there. It's hard to get someone to help you go for a walk or use the bathroom etc because they're short staffed and very full with patients. I will say it's better than the Randalia Parkview. And I've never been to the southwest one. Great if you need a quick visit or stay. Long term it so much.

I went into the front to be seen and taken to the back for tests since I had a mild infection that might have gotten worse. They lost a faxed order from my Bronson Dr. So we had to wait for it to be refaxed. All the waiting in the chairs caused tons of pain and all the ladies were so sweet. They even brought up and ice pack for my son who had a bee sting on his hand. They are very understaffed and I was surprised I wasn't waiting the entire day. I've worked in the medical field and there are so many hoops to jump through that when you are understaffed it takes it's toll on the workers and they were still so nice and understanding. Second time was in the ER as I woke up in worse pain and finally decided to go in and be seen since I wasn't sure if stitches ripped, bleeding, etc. The nurses who helped me were very sweet and understanding and cared. The Dr. I saw was a nice man who explained everything. The nurses checked on me a few times since we were there for a few hours. They gave me updates on what was taking so long and apologized for any delays. I am terrified of needles and they worked with me to get the drugs I needed in me orally instead on doing an IV. I have never had that consideration before in any medical setting. They even listened when I said a certain medicine never worked for me and gave me the one that does help. Most Dr's argue with me saying it works for everyone. Very nice people. Understand it's an understaffed hospital and in the world of medicine it's lots of hurry up and wait as results from tests have to be checked and double checked by someone else and lots of paperwork before they can help you.

I doubt this post will get any recognition, but it bothered me very much, and if we were treated like this i'm sure others have been in the past. For those asking who the Doctors name was; i'm not sure, i can only say she was a female of African-American decent.

My experience is the ER when I first arrived was great but fell short fast once I got up to Labor & Delivery. Once in my gown, a nurse came into my room stating they were going to send me back downstairs to ER and that I should have never came up there (couldn't tell you the nurse's name because she never once told me it). That's when I mentioned that the ER nurse had called they gave the okay to come up to which she responded "of course they did" and rolled her eyes. As if that wasn't awesome enough, once she left the room I heard her ask the other staff if I had walked upstairs or taken a wheelchair--- walked--- "I told you she's fine". The whole experience was horrific and I am not looking forward to giving birth there in the next couple weeks. Sad that they treat expecting mother's in such a manner during such a vulnerable time. My calcium had been so low it was critical and dangerous. I had to be hospitalized. I could barely move my body, my hands were seized up into a ball. I had two nurses take "care" of me. One BARELY looked at me, I have psoriasis and I occasionally get flakes in my hair from it. Instead of asking me. She walked out and loudly shouted "GOT CREEPY CRAWLIES IN ROOM 12" With a reply of "ugh. Thats what I needed tonight" How embarrassing. I confronted the other nurse saying it was rude what was said, with a disgusting tone she replied "well do you?" I explained i had psoriasis and I had never had lice before she said "well thats not my concern anyways" She the proceeded to try to take my blood through the iv. When asking what the bloodwork was for she said "I don't know. Its just blood" I was so pissed I began to pull out my own IV. Only one nurse had the decency to talk to me, even looked at my head so he could tell them they were wrong, and reported them. That was only one bad experience. I will never set foot in that place as a patient again.
