The instructors in the class are kind and fun, the instructions for parents were super clear, the check in and check out processes are smooth and easy. The other kids coming in seem to be happy as well. I can make reservations for camp days online and They also have early drop off and extended pick ups available The projects they have done every day last week are interesting and engaging for the kids. My 5 year old comes home and demonstrates them every day. It has been fun watching him be so happy and engaged there. Apparently he even made a friend or two. And, most important thing is - everyone I have interacted with at NORY has been so kind - yes, each and everyone! I wish they'd also expand to do afterschool programs in the UWS, because I would want to sign up my kid for that... But meanwhile, we hope to be back in the next break season for camp again! Nory's STEM-focused curriculum keeps the kiddos engaged while also teaching them teamwork, problem solving, creativity, and many other fine and gross motor skills that are appropriate for their age group. I was very impressed with the woodworking projects my son would bring home nearly every week for 7 weeks; the woodworking projects gave him hands on learning opportunities at such a young age. Also, the staff during my son's time at camp, really cared about my son and other kids in the program. The site director at my son's UWS site - Mariam - is such a phenomenal (calm, supportive) and incredible leader. Mariam and her staff did such a wonderful job supporting my son's social development - esp. his curiosity and high energy - during the summer period. Additionally, Nory's Co-CEO (Peter Seo) was always available to listen and take feedback from parents - and in one instance, he incorporated changes right away! This spoke volumes to how much care he and the Nory team put into ensuring that positive experiences are what a child's time at camp should be centered on! My partner and I are already planning to register our son for future programs (holiday camps during the 2025-2026 school year and hoping for another summer one in 2026); I highly recommend NORY to any family looking for a learning and care focused camp program for their little ones.

She especially loved the pa de deux classes. In terms of the housing accommodations, the dancers are in a beautiful area on the upper Westside of Manhattan. I saw this show many years ago, and I recently got to visit again, this time bringing my family along. I couldn't wait for my kids to see it. It was my son's first Broadway show and he was absolutely mesmerized. I made sure to get Orchestra aisle seats so we could see the animals making their way down to the stage for the Circle of Life and for other parts of the show. We were sitting right where the enormous elephant comes down and it was incredible to see. Speaking of the Circle of Life, it gets me SO emotional every time! I grew up loving The Lion King and this show just does it so much justice. The production value is to die for. The lighting, the scenery, the way they play with perspective. It's just all so amazing. And the singing? And the acting? I can just go on and on. I also love how they added "They Live in You" into this production, along with "Shadowland" and "Endless Night." It is so touching and moving. It's a great show to take your children to. I know it can be pricey, and there never really is a good deal per se, but if you are able to swing it and get tickets, you won't be sorry you did.

The Hayes Theater is pretty small, with bathrooms on lower levels. I was always seated in the Orchestra, so I had a really good view of the stage. Of these two shows, I found Becky Shaw to be extremely lackluster compared to Marjorie Prime.

They are very accommodating and every time I come to pick him up they treat me very nice. The place is very clean filled with little scooters and lots of pictures of former ballet students. The faculty is very caring and love teaching the younger generation about ballet and instill the love for arts.

However I must say that it's difficult to say if someone will become a ballet dancer unless you give them a chance...but a chance goes well beyond a 6 year old's body type. It's sad how they pry & evaluate kids that young's bodies to determine if they think the child has what it takes. Their mindset produces a culture of body image issues among some of the older (teen) dancers, & to my knowledge, eating disorders are higher here compared to other local ballet schools. I also have the feeling I'm being overly watched whenever I enter this building. Security is great, but really, as a parent I should be able to go to the bathroom or sit outside my kid's studio without being followed or questioned (I was literally asked "Where are you going?"). And know that staff will also act as security--I witnessed a staff member snatch a parent's phone & delete a video after the parent recorded a few seconds of a class through a window. I get that this is their protocol, but the parent isn't from this school. Her kid was just auditioning so how was she supposed to know? Why did they snatch the phone & go through it rather than just nicely explain the protocol & ask her to delete the footage. Again, the training is great & I would never take that away from this school. The facility & location are beautiful. Just know the school is very serious. Be ready to be watched like a hawk & educate your dancer very early to prevent low self-esteem/body image issues.
