Extremely disappointed in the care and response from the owners. While boarding our dog here, she developed painful, bleeding hot spots due to being left wet after daily water play and not being dried properly. We had to take her to an ER vet for treatment and medication. When I brought this to the owners' attention, they failed to acknowledge any responsibility or offer any compensation for what was clearly a preventable issue. To make matters worse, their response was delayed by two weeks and came across as hostile. I left my phone number and a voicemail and never got a call, just a defensive email. Following that, they even deactivated our access to the reservation portal. Our pets deserve better care, and pet parents deserve to be heard--not dismissed. I truly hope moving forward they ensure dogs that are boarded aren't left wet or damp overnight and try to do better. However, they gave no indication that they were going to change anything in their care routines moving forward. I wouldn't trust this business, especially the owners. Below is a photo they uploaded into the reservation portal of her clearly being soaked with water, the other photos are after the ER vet where she had to be shaved down and given steroids to clear them up. I love this place !! My dog loves it more I say your going to camp and she goes to the door grabs her leash and pushes her out button over and over till we get in the car the moment I pull in she can not wait to go and play I love the web cam and the daily report I get with the pictures. In addition, I asked a friend to drop off my dog and she told me that the staff was rude to her too. There is no need for this. I love Camp Canine, they were wonderful with my dog, Duncan! He was an older dog and they loved having him around. Great staff! I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for doggie care. My pup is like my one of my own children and I don't like him to be apart from us but there are times that we just can't bring him. I my search for a home away from home I came across Camp Canine where they have daily socialization or play dates. My small pup has the little dog big dog syndrome. He is a 9 lbs Yorkie who would like to think he is a killer dog but really he is a large hamster and looks more like a rat when he is wet. I've boarded him and put him in doggie day care a few times and he has done well. He usually gets lots of exercise and continues to become more comfortable around other dogs. Since Camp Canine has large outdoor areas for play with toys, a kiddie pool and web cams so you can watch I thought this would be great. I always shutter when I've been to places that have cement stalls and can't get the image of my furry friend staying and sleeping in one of these. After bringing our papers with proof of shots and kennel cough (need this every 6 months) and having a meet and greet with the staff we signed him up for the weekend. After just a few hours after dropping him off we got a call saying our pup was severely sick. Vomiting, diarrhea with lots of bleeding, shaking, and looking terrible they brought him to the vet. Of course we were already hours and miles away. What were we going to do...turn the whole family around ugh? We waited to hear from the vet to learn that she had given him some meds to settle his stomach and asked us if it would be ok to run some blood work. He returned to Camp Canine where they put him in a suite to isolate him. They tried to calm him by giving him one on one attention and keeping him away from the other dogs. This was good to lessen his anxiety and if he was sick - keep him away from the other dogs. Thalia was excellent. She took great care of my sick pup and giving me detailed updates and did her best to accommodate our stressed out Yorkie. Everyone knows our pup now. He has since been back for a doggie day as a test before our vacation and he did awesome. The one difficulty I do have is getting in touch with the staff. Drop off hours are 7-10 and pick up is from 4/5-7. I know they are tending to the dogs but it does seem hard to get someone on the phone so keep calling and being patient. In the future, I would also be sure to use my own Vet and not someone that I don't know. I was not so happy when I called to follow up and the Vet told me I was not their client. Ughh I may not have been but I sure paid the bill and own the dog. read more

I have two Boxers, Bruschi is my two year old and Gronk is 9 months. I love bringing them here! I like that I can see them from my phone when we are away thanks to their cameras, and I love that they are outside a lot!!!! I used to live in Framingham on the border of Ashland, so it was so easy to take them there. Now I live in Uxbridge but still make the drive to them! They are awesome and the girl that helped me today - I wish I remembered her name- was super nice and friendly. My boys love it there! read more

Tried Camp Canine 3 times. The last 2 times they called and ask for my dog to be picked up around 11 am for being too much. The last time, apparently he was playing aggressively with another dog and they got into a fight where the other dog attacked my dog. Emphasis on him being attacked not the other way around. I am not sure if it is because he is part pit mix or because he is a hyper dog with a ton of energy (he loves to run at age 2 still gets zoomies) it just wasnt a good mix. The funny thing is that randomly at a BBQ over the summer with other dogs there my dog was playing with the doodle mix and when chatting with the parent they also said their dog was asked to leave camp canine due to their dog being too much! What are the odds right? If your dog is larger or has energy this is not the right place, some of the employees were awesome and you could tell they love dogs but there were two people there that obviously hated their job and had issues with certain dogs that caused them to actually do their job and not be on their phone. My guy can be a real handful and a ball of energy but they do a great job of working with him and giving him breaks from the group to settle down when he gets a bit too excited. FYI that Camp Canine has been under the new ownership of a lovely couple since late spring of 2014! Our dog Lucy has been coming here twice per week for doggie daycare and boarding here occasionally for the past year. She LOVES it! She plays, plays, plays, and comes home exhausted. When we have boarded her at other facilities, she comes home with an upset stomach for days-- but not after staying at Camp Canine-- she is just comfortable there and does not get the "nervous" GI issues she gets elsewhere. Best of all, they have outdoor play areas, and the dogs are let out in them even when they board there. So, if your dog is used to doing his/her business outside, they won't need to change their routine. I also have been impressed by the friendly and responsive staff, and the nice notes we get at pick-up every day. If only my kids' teachers gave us such detailed reports! read more

We have been taking our dog here for day care (2-3 times a week) and boarding (every few months, sometimes more often) for more than two years and she LOVES it there. The staff is great and they have always immediately let us know about any "issues" (ie: scuffles between our dog and other dogs) - I also really like that the staff seems to genuinely enjoy dogs and takes dog personalities into consideration. Sometimes our dog likes hanging out with humans more than other dogs and they are always happy to have her hang out in the office and "do paperwork" with them!! I love the report cards they send home with the dog with details about their day, who they played with and, if they ate, how well they ate. Someone mentioned in a review that the staff is never reachable by phone or that you have to "keep calling": that could not be further from the truth. If you call and do not reach someone you can leave a voice mail - I have never waited more than an hour for a call back. I guess if you need up-to-the-minute contact about your dog 24/7 this isn't the place for you, but I have never had issues getting in touch with someone when I've needed to. read more

My wonderful 12 year old Golden passed away this summer. She started going to CC when she was a pup and continued for all her life. She loved being there sooo much that I could not drive past it or near by because she would have a temper tantrum. She boarded when we had vacations and did not want too leave. She also went for play days as pup while I worked. When she got sick with Cancer, I received calls of sympathy and received several condolence cards with amazing long personal notes on them... Camp Canine is great. Our labradoodle spends holiday weekends and the occasional day care day at Camp Canine, and she is always excited to get in there and have fun running in the yard with other dogs. It's a terrific facility and the girls who care for the dogs are polite and really enjoy being with the dogs. The new owners are great and put the dogs first. read more

The last time I sent my dog there for doggie day care (in the winter) they sent her home with a huge open wound on her neck. The worst part was they put her coat on over the wound so we didn't know until we got her home that she was injured, and when we called to find out what happened they said that we must have brought her in that way and denied it happened there. My vet bill was not worth taking off a day to take them to small claims court but certainly worth this review. Be warned. read more

I had been bringing my Doodle for 4+ years (since he was a pup). 1-2 x per week and boarding 3x per year. It was great up until the past 6 or so months. He would come home with feces stuck in his fur, had cuts and scratches with dried blood. Arrived one rainy evening to pick up, all the dogs were in the yard. When they gave me my soaked dog, i asked if they could dry him a bit, (I have to pick him up to put into the car) I was told they had towel dried him and it was the best they could do. Both my dogs have picked up giardia and canine papilloma from here. (Both at different times, not from each other. Older dog late 2015, rescue pup within 4 months) I would ask for my dogs to be bathed after a week long boarding, the pricing would double from July to August. (Within 3 weeks) I was told they couldn't complete a groom due to my dog being difficult, when he was only to receive a bath. The groomer cut all the hair off my doodle's tail. I brought my rescue Doodle (1 year old) for daycare and boarding (They screened checked prior) I was very open in communication about him with everyone. He completed training with a local dog trainer. I shared and I would ask about any odd behaviors so i could address them. After 7 months of being boarded 2x (for a week at a time) and daycare 1 x per week. At pick up one night in late January, i was told my pup "was having an off day and went after another dog and wasnt the first time" To my surprise, this was the first time i had heard this. Not one person at pick up could provide details or answer any of my questions. My pup was placed in issolation and i was NOT contacted. (I work PT from home and could have easily picked him up) I was told i would receive a call from the girl who was in the yard to explain to me what happened and answer my questions. The next day, I scheduled an assessment for my pup with my dog trainer. 2 days after the incident, my dog trainer called me to ask some questions about training equipment. My dog trainer told me what happened that day at Camp Canine and other concerning issues about my pup that i had not heard before. By this point, I had called 3 times, left messages, requested to speak to the owner, requested to see the video tape from the yard that day. When i finally spoke to the person who was in the yard that day, the story was very different from the one i heard from my Dog Trainer. I requested to speak to the owner, i was told they were too busy moving and could not speak with me. Would not show me the video of the yard that day and would not return my calls. My dog was assessed and he went through training again, he shows no signs of aggressive behavior towards any dogs or people! BEWARE! read more

If you bring your dog here make sure you watch the cameras they set up and make sure your dog isn't having a horrible time, because the people that work there won't tell you. I saw a dog running around barking and bullying at much smaller dog for 10 minutes just instigating it while the smaller dog just sat there frozen. No one does anything about it except just put the dogs in time out and then when there done in time out they take them out and they do it all over again, then the workers give up and just let them do what they want. I have a year and a half year old golden retriever, who I have been taking to camp canine since he was a puppy. I like to take him about once a week for daycare and when we go away we board him here as well. I love the staff and the facilities! They are so welcoming and know Charlie (my pup) every time we walk in the door. I know he is in great hands! He leaves exhausted every time, and I know he loves it there as well!! We take our dog here once or twice per week, and board her a few times a year. I love that we can watch her during the day on the web cams that they have, and also that the dogs are able to play outside all day. The only negative for me is that during boarding, the latest they let the dogs out is 7pm, and our dog usually goes out around 10pm for the last time, so she wet her bed twice at Camp. We have been using Camp Canine for a year now and they are great! The live webcam is great to keep an ey on the dogs when out in the yard. Catch a glimpse of your buddy if you miss them when you are on vacation. They have been very attentive about his health. he scratched his eye one day from rubbing it on the turf and they were sure to bring him inside and let us know. We've been taking our lab/hound mix to Camp Canine now for over a year and she loves it there! We both work full time, so this is a great way for her to socialize and get exercise while we are away at work. I like their outdoor facility, and I can watch my dog on the webcams all day. They are very kind to my dog, and they have called me right away on my cell phone the couple of times she wasn't feeling well and the one time she got into a "scuffle" with another dog. I read some of the negative reviews, but let me say this: dogs will be dogs. Dogs sometimes get over-excited, sometimes they play too rough, sometimes they don't get along with each other, and all dogs have different temperaments and levels of training. Camp Canine does take care to get to know your dog and they separate the large and small dogs in their three separate yards. They act quickly when scuffles emerge, and they turn away overly aggressive dogs. But it's impossible to create a 100% injury-proof facility when dogs are interacting with each other, and as a dog owner you should understand and accept this fact before taking your pup to daycare. If your dog is particularly small or timid, maybe doggie daycare isn't the best option for them. Our lab is very happy and I'd rather she get her energy out at daycare than stay home alone for 10 hours every day by herself. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but sometimes it is necessary. I boarded my two australian shepherds at Camp Canine last week while away. When I went to pick them up, I found out that for two days, my dogs were not allowed to play with the other dogs. This was because another regular customer informed Camp Canine that our dogs didn't get along and requested that they not play together (actually, her dog used to bark at my dog when we walked together but it never went further than that - zero aggression on either part). As a result, my dogs -- who were being boarded there for a week and therefore needed a little more attention and exercise were kept away from the other dogs in a pen by themselves for at least two full days. The other owners dogs were allowed to play in the pen with all of the other dogs and given preferred status because the owner was a regular there. I was never informed of this, and I only found out by accident when I went to pick my dogs up. I was shown pictures of my dogs, all of which showed them hanging out in the front office - not outside playing where they should have been (and where I payed for them to be). The only play time they got was in a pen all by themselves. A few things bothered me. -- I was never informed of this plan. -- It was obvious I was not going to be told. -- I was supposed to get a report card for each dog for each day when I returned. I got nothing (I expect because they didn't want me to know about the separation) -- I checked on the dog video cams every day and half of the times I checked the video was frozen so I could not see my dogs -- They gave preference to their regular customer, letting their dogs play with the other dogs all day, even though their dog was the one who barked (at the very least, my dogs should have been allowed to play with all of the other dogs half the time, and the other owner's half the time) -- I expressed how upsetting this treatment of my dogs was to Camp Canine when I picked them up, and was assured that I would get a call from the owners that day. The call never happened. Few customer experiences are perfect, but what I hope for -- and frankly expect -- is an experience that makes me feel like my dogs are well cared for, that the company is thankful for my business, and actually cares enough to respond to customer complaints. Clearly, Camp Canine doesn't care. And for that reason, they have lost my business. read more

We have been coming here for many years, even now that we have moved out of town. I've always thought it was okay, but not the greatest. Our last visit has left me disgusted and convinced that my dog will never go back. Just picked up my pup after a 4 day stay. The entire BOTTOM of her dog bed was drenched in dog piss. Neither the top of the bed more my dog were wet, so it's not as though she had an accident! Clearly this filthy place doesn't clean up after the animals and is okay leaving the bed sitting in a puddle of dog urine. They have no respect for personal property or for the animals! Good luck to them and future guests.... I will take my business elsewhere... oh, I should probably send you my car detailing bill as you have destroyed my interior! read more

We've been taking our 1 year-old here once every other week or so, and he loves it. He gets his ya-yas out and gets to play with the dogs, supervised, all day. Their website has a webcam where you can watch on your pc during the day. Our dogwalker recommended the place and we have not been disappointed. The staff we've talked with seems to really enjoy the dogs. They leave comments about your dog and how he/she behaved during the day. Also, they can take you on a tour of the entire facility, something other dog boarders won't do. The place was very clean when we went behind the scenes. My only complaint is that the webcam is viewable just through the cumbersome Internet Explorer browser, but that's just a technical issue. High marks! read more

Our dog has gone to camp canine every so often to get a good play day in. At first we were fine bringing her there....only now do I wish I had followed my gut feeling on first impression! After a few days there our dog came home with a large cut on her nose that the staff could not explain. Around the same time she also got what the vet described as mites that caused infection on her ears. We kept her away from camp canine so that other dogs would not get it until it went away. When we brought her back it only took a few day and the mites were back!!! Coincidentally one of the families at the local park explained to us that their dog had been coming back with exactly the same issue. When they stopped bringing the dog the mites went away! This whole situation just gave us an all around bad feeling of GROSE!!! read more

We've had great experiences with Camp Canine and have been coming here for about 6 months. The staff is always very attentive and communicative and always flexible, which we appreciate. Nadine loves the staff, especially her camp counselor, she will actually cry when I leave the parking lot after picking her up after a fun day. The facility is always clean and I trust they are taking great care of Nadine. The groomer is also excellent and Nadine always looks fantastic. I like that I can view her on video, although my only criticism is that I'd like better camera angles and the video can be choppy, but I can see her. read more

Let me preface this review with the fact that my dog is my child. I am very protective of her. I've taken my Australian Shepherd River off and on to Camp Canine for about a year now. They take wonderful care of the dogs. The facility is clean. And best of all, I get to watch River play during the day with all of the other dogs. I get a report card each day she is there telling me who she played with, and how she behaved. She always comes home happy and exhausted. I feel very secure leaving her there knowing she will be well cared for. I would definitely recommend Camp Canine to anyone. read more

Never sending our dog there again!Our dog was bitten by another dog several times and left there for the day without being told about it till we picked her up at end of the day.They tried to make light of the incident. Never did they offer to pay vet bill or even part of bill.Dog had to go to emergency vet for wound cleaning and put on antibiotic. Dog did go back to see how the new ways they where going to try would work Watched on camera to see our pet was left in cage for a good part of the day.Our Dog hasn't been back for over a month they have never called to see where she is or how she is. read more

I've been to a lot of Dog Day cares. Amazing staff and 5 star facility. I will recommend to any and all dog owners.

Let's say that I fell for their yard, physical location and facility. My newly acquired dog was evaluated by the staff and included for day care. It sure is glitzy and feels as though the pet is taken care of by people who know. But that is not always the case. Some members of the staff definitely are knowledgeable but not all. Oftentimes there are teenagers working shifts. No one evaluates dog personalities. We used their day care and boarding and were very unhappy with it all. After boarding our dog lost his voice from too much barking (they leave dogs alone from 7pm to 7 am) and he also had developed stomach parasites. They did not attend to the fact that he was anxious/alone and the fact that he contracted the parasites there in the 2 weeks that he was boarded. The staff is never available on phone; for day care they are overbooked and often refuse taking in a dog with no prior notification. There are many homey alternatives and I recommend that they be checked out. read more

I take my two labs to Camp Canine about once a week, and I have nothing but praise for the owner, the staff,and the facility. When they first started going there, my female lab was a little withdrawn and unsociable, although that wasn't her usual personality at home. The staff worked with her to get her to fit in, and now she can't wait to go. They both come home happy and exhausted. They did contract kennel cough a year ago, but that will happen at any doggie daycare. It's no different from a child going to daycare...one child gets a cold, they all do. There are several strains of kennel cough, and the vaccine covers only the most common, so you can't realistically blame it on an unvaccinated dog being there. All dogs attending must be up to date on all vaccines. As a matter of fact, one of my dog's DHLPP had expired, and not long after I dropped her off, I got a call from the staff saying they had quarantined her from the other dogs, and I had to return to pick her up. That's what I call being on the ball...more so than I was! They also shut down during the kennel cough outbreak to disinfect the entire facility, inside and out. One last thing that I'm impressed with is the cleanliness. This place NEVER smells "doggie". I've tried two other facilities and the smell there almost knocked me over most days. Not here. They disinfect during nap time. The staff are obviously all "dog people" and it shows. They will treat your dog the way they treat their own. read more
