Attended a wedding at Camp Colton this past week and had an excellent experience. - The grounds are stunning - Staff was overly accommodating with the elderly guests. Some of the walks were a bit far for the older folks, but they offered golf cart rides to and from whenever we needed. I'm not sure if this is something they typically do, but they even let us borrow the cart for the first day. The camp director, Alison, genuinely went out of her way to make our lives easier getting around the camp and we were very impressed with their hospitality. - We stayed in the multi-room cabin and everything was clean and perfectly fine. I had some family stay in the tiny home + the yurt and they loved the experience. - Reception hall and back patio were awesome. A+ pictures Would recommend!! read more

Camp Colton - Chapel - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - Colton, Oregon

I had the pleasure of a two-night stay in Camp Colton's Puffball Yurt. First off, the property is gorgeous. It's quite large with a variety of areas to explore - from the wedding chapel, to the multiple cabins, to bridges across two creeks, to wide open spaces. There's plenty of parking. And there are trails to explore (although I wish they were more clearly marked so we could have made the most of them). The yurt is well appointed for "glamping." It has automatic lights outside as well as a fire pit. They provided wood and kindling for the fire pit. Inside is a full bed, floor couch, small closet rack, and a wood stove. The bathrooms were a short walk away and very nice for a campground. I only interacted with the property caretaker Neal, and he was great. Very polite, and knows the property well. There isn't much nearby in Colton to do, as far as I know, so the length of our stay was just right to make the most of the property and enjoy nature before heading home. read more

I've waited almost year to write this review because I am still so horrified of the experience. First I will say the 2 stars are because the venue is exactly what I wanted, aesthetic and site wise. But putting my most special and important day in the hands of Camp Colton and their staff is something I will always deeply regret. Thank goodness I planned my wedding into a dream, it still was the most amazing day of my entire life. That was yes thanks to the amazing aesthetics and being in the trees and by the water, and also thank goodness the issues weren't vivid and/or brought to my attention until the end of the evening or the following day. The saga will have to begin by me stating that my family rented 2 RV spots, 4 houses and 1 of the yurts. Upon check in to the RV spot my father was locked out of the gate until the exact moment of check in time. All of the staff was there, sitting in the office. There were no guests on site the previous evening. That was not a huge deal but very strange that they wouldn't allow an early check in to an RV SPOT and made my 75 year old parents wait in their car with the RV hooked to the back of the truck. My husband and I are chefs and run a couple places in portland so we decided with our amazing staff to cater our own wedding. I went over this with the staff multiple times, asking if we could store the leftovers in the fridge since our staff didn't have the capacity in their vehicles. Long story short, they threw away thousands of dollars worth of food because they wouldn't let us store it overnight in the fridge that had nothing else stored in it. Because the wedding rental was only until 10pm. Mind you, we have almost the whole property rented until 11am the next morning. My wedding coordinator was nice but the most softspoken person of all time on the day of the wedding. No one could hear her, nor was she trying to coordinate. So me, the bride and my maids of honors had to direct everyone. I also had paid for the fire pit service, added it on a few days prior. And when it was time for the bonfire they told me they had no idea what I was talking about. The bartenders that were serving the wedding whom were staff of Camp Colton, SO unbelievably rude. They were standing there, doing nothing. And in my wedding dress I asked for a water and they told me no....because they hadn't started serving yet. I was just being polite because I didn't want to go just grab the water that was behind them, that I had paid for. But I bent down, again, in my wedding dress. And grabbed one. Multiple of my wedding guests also had said how rude they were. There was no staff present besides the coordinator during the whole experience, which was preferred but the second the DJ ended the last song, it was like ants swarming to a sandwich crumb. Unhooking the kegs, motioning people out. Which is, whatever. But my husband wanted one more beer, so he tapped the keg. The staffer ripped it out of his hand and started yelling at him saying "you're gonna pay for this" which is funny given on some of the reasoning we didn't get our deposit back on this place. I was charged for "unapproved confetti" which I told staff was biodegradable. I paid extra for it so no clean up. $200 they charged The houses on property were horrid minus the bridal suite which is where I stayed. That was beautiful and well decorated. The groomsman suite is what my brother and his family rented for the evening and it was said to sleep 5. There were 2 twin sized beds "upstairs" but it wasn't an upstairs it was a left so the beds were 2 inches from your face. And 1 couch. My sister rented the bigger house which sleep 10 I believe. Two of the bedrooms were LOCKED. And no staff to help unlock them. I'm going to attach what all they charged me for because it's WILD. The most wild part is they charged us for breaking the washer and dryer. None of us have any clue where it even was on the property. $1500 for a "gazebo party" no clue what that is. $700 excessive cleaning?? read more

We attended my niece's wedding here. It's a spectacular setting. Weather permitting, you can be married surrounded by old-growth cedar. It's a lovely setting with a rustic dining hall which is what I'd call mountain elegant. The plaza outside is perfect for warmer weather events. The staff had EVERYTHING running in perfect order from parking to setup to helping guests find their way. The family hired a catering company for the food. Accommodations were nice, but I only glimpsed a little of that as we stayed offsite to give the younger set beds on site. read more

Cool looking place, however online said wedding package was 5,800... after our tour we found out that was about $30,000 low.

We were a guests at this venue and I have yet to be at a venue this beautifully furnished and have the ability to decorate. I would also like to comment that the cabins to host some of the wedding party were so confident and the facilities (restrooms) were perfect. The doors closed and lock easily, they are spacious too. Camp Colton is the ultimate dream wedding venue! Be warned that their photos on their website do not do the venue justice, as it's hard to capture the pure beauty of the recently remodeled venue. Camp Colton is clean, newly remodeled, and has the ultimate PNW vibes for a wedding. Their grounds also offer a ton of amenities which is very helpful when planning a wedding. First of all this venue is absolutely stunning. It was quite literally all I had dreamed of for my wedding day and I was excited I found it. We went on a two hour tour with the sales and events manager to see all the things Camp Colton had to offer. After our tour she handed us a booklet and sent an email that contained a spreadsheet of pricing. Much to our surprise the pricing she re-stated over and over again during the tour did not mach the booklet nor the online pricing. In fact it was off about 4 grand for every package. I called her and asked her to verify why pricing was off and she stated "I can get you less than what those show, let me come in tomorrow morning and give you a price breakdown". The next morning she sends an email of her price breakdown that shows the pricing of the booklet and spreadsheet (four thousand more than price we were told during the tour). She also put in red headlines "Both September and October fall into out peak season pricing", but what's interesting was when she was giving us the cheaper pricing during the tour she knew September and October were the only months we were interested in. Within her emails she intended to make me feel dumb and that I misunderstood. We had four people attend the tour and all had the same impression because simply...she gave us wrong prices and she knows she did. All and all I wouldn't recommend Camp Colton. Whether she got her packages mixed up (which she didn't admit) or she straight up lied to get a sale, I will never do business with her and wouldn't recommend anyone else to either. Beautiful venue with multiple ceremony spot options and a gorgeous modern/rustic newly remodeled dining hall. We fell in love with this place, and I had several wedding guests tell me it was the most beautiful wedding and venue they had ever been too. The staff were great, and the wedding coordinator Dana is an absolute gem. She will go above and beyond for you, and creates a great relationship with her clients. The price was great, the venue was gorgeous. However, after speaking with the owner, I was VERY unimpressed with the lack of tact and unprofessionalism. With a little kindness, this would be a 5 star review, however the poor customer service was just that bad. I'm in the area for 4 weeks as part of my training for school & didn't want to commute to and from Portland everyday. I found Camp Colton on Google and I couldn't be happier. After a few emails back and forth I had a great rate for tent camping for 4 weeks of weekday camping OR a small room in a cabin with 2 twin beds for an extra $200 or so. They were booked solid for all of the weekends with weddings and other events - which is understandable given the BEAUTIFUL chapel, outdoor wedding area, reception lodge with very nice lighting, lots of room for tent camping, outdoor games, RVing, a large covered gazebo with fire-pit and options for cabin living (with assorted sleeping options, kitchens, showers, etc). I decided to tent camp for the full adventure experience. I was next to the gazebo which gave me easy access to lights, electricity, bathroom with free shower (very clean and plenty of hot water). There are creeks on both sides of camp, lots of little trails to explore, and a wonderful dock on a pond. The pond's FULL of salamanders and water striders and dragonflies. I've seen deer, squirrels, birds (including a heron I think), and NO mosquitos! If you're looking for a good campsite, cabin or camp-style wedding I'd highly recommend checking out Camp Colton. They're very accommodating & thoughtful. Just watch out for the guard poodle, Colby, who likes to greet your car by running in front of it and barking a hello! He's really very sweet but probably likes to knock over trash cans. And don't forget to check out Colton Cafe - it's an easy walk up the road, has great home-style cooking, and really rounds out the small-town experience with folks who great you by name after just one visit! read more

I would not recommend this place as a wedding venue to anyone. We purchased the camping wedding which we now regret. The "cabins" that come with this package are not kept up and filled with mold and mildew. Not to mention loads of spiders and dust as if they haven't been cleaned in years. I can't believe they think they can rent them for $195 a night. Be warned that the online pictures are extremely outdated and not a true representation of the property. The owner will have you sign a contract but make up her own fees as she goes not following the contractual guidelines and never return your full deposit. The customer service is awful at best. I suggest they learn how to properly run a business before engaging in a customer service based industry. read more

We got married there in August 2018, and all of our guests were inspired by the natural beauty and we were impressed with the staff's dedication and kindness. The price works if you're willing to settle for mildew and the possibility of the venue making up for it by charging you inaccurately upon leaving. Nice looking venue on the surface, but once you get into it and are doing it you find bee hives outside of your rooms, doors that don't open well, wet and damp scents in all the cabins, uncomfortable beds, and not enough options for electricity. The owner is a swindler and communicates one thing and does another. I feel bad for the grounds keeper because she gets walked on by the owner. If you go for it expect the unexpected and don't get your hopes up. They also charged me for my deposit because I pulled out of the property 15 minutes past 11am. Nice huh? I bet that amount of time costed them the $500 they kept. That's what you'll get. I wasn't the first, you won't be the last. read more
