I had been a member for many years. I boarded my dog for 1 night with doggy day for the day I dropped her off. The 2nd day I was booked for doggy day care no overnight. I picked her up at 2:30, when I usually do doggy day care it is 8am to 5pm. I was informed that I had another night of boarding. It just does not make sense, no overnight. What do they do take her out of overnight kennel and put her in day care and charge for overnight. No one could explain this. I was told I would get a refund but never received. I canceled my membership not just for this I picked up my pet and she was limping, they asked me if I bought her in like this of course not, then she said maybe someone stepped on her, she is small. She yelled when you touched her so I am sure when it happened she yelled in pain. Took her to vet xrays thank goodness not broken but she still limps off and on. Taking her again well over $400. Accidents happen but should have been informed. I lost trust with them and think the business has slipped. read more

I can't say enough great things about the entire crew at Camp KCS. I've been taking my dogs here for almost 2 years, and I've never had a complaint. My female dog isn't good with other animals except for her brother, and it's never an issue...not to mention they're large dogs and can definitely be a handful! They keep them together in the same kennel, play with them and exercise them out in the yard. They treat all the animals like their own, and it shows because whenever I'm close, my dogs get so excited! I always recommend Camp KCS to people when they ask about nearby dog daycares/boarding. My friends and I used Camp KCS for daycare for our pups while we went out site seeing and exploring the Pocanos. We used them twice and everything from the communication, paperwork and use of the facility was seamless. Staff are down to earth and friendly. The pups had a great time and were nice and tired when we came back to pick them up. They also have a small store in the office which was good as we ran out of food and they had some very good brands on hand which we purchased. Thank You! On thing to note, is that when we dropped them off, the staff took them out for a walk in the yard....which is not fenced in. What would happen if one of the dogs slipped their collar? Amazing business! Run efficiently and professionally. So compassionate and helpful when a friend's dog died in a house fire. They opened after hours to facilitate taking the pet and caring for it until the next day. Offered with no reservations to transport for cremation to the local vet. We've been bringing our dogs here for years. Not only do they do boarding they do grooming and the staff is amazing. They love the dogs as if they are their own. We won't bring our dogs anywhere else for their boarding or grooming needs. The staff tries to stay on top of things and even called us once after our dogs had been boarded there to let us know that there was a dog with kennel cough and we should be on the lookout for a dogs health. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog there and staff was amazing. If I could just rate the staff they'd be given a 5+! However I dont agree with their pricing. The amount is good, but the whole when does a half day start vs a full day is confusing. If its 2 mins past 24hrs since drop off it's another half to full day depending on what time drop off was and when you got there which leaves the pricing scheme to be quiet confusing. I am glad to see that they explained their pricing since I was there. I would love to go back I just dont know if I can with the pricing scheme. We feel at ease leaving our dog at Camp KCS. Friendly staff, they love my dog and he loves them. They are very accomadating, we had a a family emergency and had to leave our dog with them a few times, while we were back and fort to the hospital. This place looks like it should be awesome. It might BE awesome. But we wouldn't know. We were visiting the area with our pups. We researched local doggy day-care places before hand and called and spoke to an employee at KCS. It was all sounding good: they would bathe the pups and then they would stay in doggy day-care for the day. We would spend the day skiing, and pick them up when we were done. The employee on the phone told us that: 1) we did not need to bring proof of shots with us 2) the doggy day-care was included in the price of the bath 3) we did not need reservations So we get up the next morning--in our ski clothes and on a relatively tight schedule (got to make the most of those expensive ski tickets!)--drive the 30 minutes to Camp KCS, and discover that the person we had spoken to the day before had been wrong about basically everything she told us. Not only did the (presumed) owner scoff at us when we said we didn't have a reservation, but it turned out we needed proof of shots, and that the boarding would be extra on top of the baths. They didn't have any availability for us that day--so we left. It's an understatement to say that this place needs to do a better job training its employees. read more

Left our Peanut Butter this past February for our trip to Vegas. Our puppy was skittish and scared. It was to be his first time away from us. He is a rescued Lab, Shepperd & Collie. We were scared on whether he would be O.K. Well as soon as we got there, the guy there took the leash and Peanut was gone lololol he didnt even wave. Boy are we glad we chose this place!!!! Our puppy was ridiculously bonkers until our first class series at Fulcrum Dog Training located at Camp KCS. We learned how to guide, prevent, encourage and have fun training. Our puppy is happier, calmer and frankly so much more lovable when we challenge his mind with training. At 9 months old, instead of jumping and flailing with excitement when he sees dogs and his friends (any human being, there are no strangers to Charlie,) he lies down. He's not perfect, but he's a puppy, and thanks to the wonderful trainers at Fulcrum, now we have skills to grow this boy into a great dog. read more

I took my two dogs for boarding here on 5/142015 - 5/18/2015. The employees are all fantastic and it is clear that they really care about the animals. While my dogs were there I had them bathed and their nails clipped. They did a great job. My dogs were very happy here. I have had the pleasure of being their client for over three years now an board my 3 dogs with them on a regular basis. My pets are treated as though they were family by the owners and staff. I never worry about their well being when I leave them with Camp KCS, I am always comfortable knowing that they are receiving fantastic care. They are extremely reasonable with their fee's and there are never any hidden surprise charges. They offer E-Boarding which is done via their web site and it is so user friendly and easy to use. I utilize this option every time I need to request boarding. The most important feature to me about Camp KCS is that they will not accept a pet for boarding without an up to date shot record for any pet that is boarded. There is no wavering on this with them, if your pet does not have the proper shots then they will not accept that pet for boarding. I was very much pleased as was Jet, my Newfoundland. They have a very big outside space for the dogs. Large clean air conditioned indoor space. They have staff like the owners who understand and love the pets they take care of. They give updates if u want on FB of your dog playing, etc. We were away in spring of 2016 for almost 10 days. I moved out here about 8 years ago and this kennel was highly recommended to me by the man who inspected our home. Since then I've never had to look elsewhere. The prices are reasonable, they have a small store where they sell supplies, they offer training, grooming, socialization, and daycare and board all types of pets as well as horses. The facility is kept clean and climate controlled and is very spacious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the owners are very experienced in animal care. My dogs are always excited to get there and come home happy and exhausted. read more

I left my 1-year-old pup named bambino at camp kcs and I am very happy. He is a Pitbull - Australian shepherd mix. I have left bambino at a sitter before for 2 days and he came back really off, and it was sad. He was super quiet, (which I have read is usual) he peed in the house for 3 days straight, he smelled terrible, he would flinch when I would go to pet him, and just overall was a different dog when he came home. I left him at camp kcs for 3 days in the kennel, but also added daycare and I picked him up today. He is such a happy boy!! you can tell they kept up with his routine, he was walked and had tons of time to play. He is a little bit quiet, but as I said before I think that it is normal from them transitioning back home. other than that, he is awesome, and I will return to camp kcs every time I need a sitter for my boy. the Staff makes you feel very comfortable and signing him up for day care was easy. will be taking him back with them. read more

Camp KCS Is wonderful!!! We take our dog and two cats quite often, I walk in the door and they know my pets by name. Every person there calls my dog by name and take the time when they are free to sit with him. He tends to be scared of bigger dogs. One of my cats has diabetes and needs insulin twice a day and they make sure that she gets her shots. I hate to call Camp KCS a kennel. We refer to it as "going to camp." read more

November 11, 2013 Shots info. distributed Nov. 9th upon a very professional on-site walk-thru. Today, I need a reservation for tomorrow....by phone. Apparently, some dis-organization with the hired help passing off required 'shots' information and interpretation of such for a potential 'newbie'. Multiple phone messages/tag through the day.All shots are up to date (due April/May 2014), but the last minute verbal standard for Bordetella is a ten-day tolerance prior to entry. Also, the phone rep (no name left) did not see shots for Distemper.....Dear CampKCS Rep: The DHPP 3 yr shot stands for Distemper, Hepatitis, Para-influenza, and Parvo Virus.....The owners should be educating the staff better....a positive experience turned negative! read more

We moved to the area 5 years ago, and we were referred to camp kcs for boarding by our vet. We have since used them at least once a year for our family vacation since for our 3 pups. I would not trust anyone else with our dogs when we have to go away without them. Our dogs are always well cared for and happy when we pick them up. I boarded my dog here for the weekend while staying in the area - being unfamiliar with the area I had to take a chance on a place. Turns out this place has a bunch of really good reviews on other review sites (mentioned on their website, like on yahoo reviews). Sidenote: both reviews here are NOT about the care your dog receives on a normal, planned boarding visit, but about the necessary shots for the pups. I found this clearly indicated on camp kcs's website, and was reminded of this over the phone AND email more than once. Its also a common request for boarding a dog so it was expected on my end. We walked in to drop off the pup and saw other puppy parents dropping off and picking up their dogs. The dogs coming out of the kennel area were wagging and happy, and looked very cheerful and happy. The puppy parents dropping off their two dogs were clearly repeat customers - the parents we greeted cheerfully and the dogs were greeted by name (and most importantly, looked happy to see the kennel workers). My mind at rest, we left our little pup and she suffered no ill effects. The ONLY reason I'm taking off a star on my review was that the office has hours that you had to drop off and pick your pup off during. 730-9am (i think), 230-4pm, and 730-830pm. You can ONLY get in touch with the workers during this time. I'm not sure what would happen if you called with a special request or emergency. This didn't effect me really, since I was only hoping to pick my pup up early and, after calling the office to see if they would be there any time before 230. i had to leave a message, and did not hear back. This was a minor inconvenience all and all and i would recommend them to any concerned puppy parent! read more

As far as I'm concerned, this is the ONLY worthwhile boarding kennel in the Poconos. We began to board our dogs with them, oh, back in 2001?? Things have changed over the years, all for the good. The facility is bright and clean...the dogs are hand-walked and get a good amount of attention. I have complete confidence in the management at Camp KCS, and I'm picky, lol. Yes, they require current vaccinations- for the health and safety of your dogs and others. Ever had a dog(s) with kennel cough? We have 4 dogs and have been going to KCS for years. The facility is immaculate, employees are friendly, and my dogs love it. My dogs are usually very skittish with strangers but when I go to drop off they walk right off with them. My dogs love it there which gives me piece of mind when I have to go away. They get played with often by the staff and are walked regularly. The owners are always available. I have never had a bad experience in the 2 plus years that I have been going to Camp KCS. The staff is extremely dedicated and facility run so well that every time I go there I know what to expect. My perfectly healthy 2.5 years old German Shepherd died in their "care" while boarded in this place. While on vacation,I received a short phone call from the owner stating that my dog died and I do not have to pay for the boarding, No explanation, no word of apology.Very cynic. Like most pet owners, our dog is not just a pet but a family member. It's vital to us when we cannot take him with us, he is cared for with love and attention. Camp KCS is that place. He is in a clean well lit environment by a staff of people who love their jobs and thus, love our Max. He is walked and socialized with other dogs and everyone seems to know who he is and how he is upon our return and asking how he did. We have been boarding and grooming our dogs at Camp KCS for quite a while. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They take such an interest in your pet it's amazing. I do believe Karen and Chris saved my Spanky's life. We brought Spanky and Maggie in to get groomed and explained to Rachel that he had teeth removed and was a little lethargic. When Karen came in Rachel explained this and Karen checked his eyes and mouth and called me and told me they couldn't groom him and he needed to see a Vet right now. My Vet, for lack of a better word, can not be reached on Sunday and Monday. Karen even offered to take him to another Vet that they are familiar with. We got Spanky to the Vet and now after seven days and a lot of blood work, x-rays and loving care from Dr. Amy he is improving. He may never be 100% but he is moving and alert. Meds are probably helping. Shihtzu's can live to be 16, he is only 8. If I could give you 10 stars I would. read more
