Laughing Grass is exactly what you are looking for if your goal is to enjoy some camping (or glamping) around other like minded people in a very relaxed atmosphere where the focus is on the enjoyment of cannabis. We stayed at the Durban Primitive site at Laughing grass for a weekend in May. My friend and I have lots of car camping experience. The site was typical if not better than other camp grounds. Camp fire ring and a park style grill are included. The trees are plentiful on the sites and makes using a hammock and multiple flys a breeze. Arrival was pretty simple - we just pulled into the stone driveway and there was a group of people on the Pavilion. We introduced ourselves and got checked in with Trinity. We were given our arrival basket and settled in. Baskets are nice, and include (for free) snacks, stickers, cleaning wipes and free to USE paraphernalia enhancing your experience. You can purchase stuff if you like it enough at the end of your stay. They also have Ice and fire wood for sale. The layout of the grounds is pretty convenient with bathrooms (with a shower in each) in the main area next cabins and Pavilion. The hill to get from the tenting area up to the main pavilion is relatively steep but most people won't have an issue with it. It can get tedious if you need to make multiple trips in a short period of time. The river area is small but functional with an assortment of Kayaks and other toys to enjoy. I think this is the best natural feature of the grounds. AM Coffee and PM Happy hours (~4:20pm)are great social opportunities to meet other campers and the staff. An assortment of goodies is provided. These were my favorite times from the weekend. Overall we really had a lot of fun at Laughing Grass and will be returning again and again.

    Fire pit

Super fun and organized! My husband and I visited for our anniversary and loved that everything was supplied, like fans, blankets, pillows, the grills and fire pit, generator, etc. On top of that, everyone was super welcoming and the second we opened our doors to check in, other guests were hollering "Welcome to Weed Camp" and we felt so relieved to see other happy stoners amongst us. It was an awesome experience, even know it rained the first night and was hot out during the days, we walked about 2 minutes to the river and cooled off - we enjoyed everything about it. Thank you Trinity and other awesome guests! Will be back again!

We rented a lakeview cabin (maybe every cabin has a view of the lake), and unlike older reviews,…read morethe cabin and restrooms were clean. Our cabin was stocked with paper products and bathroom too. But needed our our linens and towels. We brought air mattresses for the living room floor as we were a party of four adults and three children. We brought kayaks and were able to get out on the water when it wasn't too windy. We enjoyed campfire nights and lazy mornings. The sound of the owls and birds were lovely. We loved getting in the lake, though the water was still cold June 21st. The only surprise was that the camp store and cafe were closed during the week, so we could only get breakfast pizza on the first weekend (we did a cabin rental from Saturday to Saturday). Our grandchildren found plenty to do, with park and swings, and everyone was friendly. Most the other campers left on Sunday afternoon (of our first weekend though) I guess to go back to work, so we had the place mostly to ourselves. Problem was most shops were closed during the week in Bridgton too! Apparently we came "early in the season." Lesson learned.

I learned how to water ski and sail on Long Lake. I bring my kids now - and have for the last 5 years - instead of camping we rent one of the cottages for the same week in August. The view, the lake, the helpful staff never disappoint. Know it's rustic , for sure, but the showers ( are cinderblock) but supply piping hot water. The bathrooms too - rustic. There are laundry rooms - so you can go home with all clean laundry. We usually rent time off a ski boat at Dingleys wharf in Naples - a wonderful day !! Lakeside Pines is old fashioned family time - board games, walks, cards, trips to Renys Department store - and truly it's priceless to get all that family time with our teenagers

Camp Arcadia, an all-girls overnight camp, is truly a wonderful place. I had the privilege of…read moreattending as both a camper in the 1990s (3 years) and a counselor in the 2000s (3 years). The people I met over those 6 summers continue to be some of my closest friends and confidants. The directors take a genuine interest in campers, their parents, and the staff members. From a camper perspective: camp is incredible: you meet campers and counselors who come from around the world (literally, one of my closest camp friends grew up and lives in Spain). You spend your days swimming on the lake, singing songs, playing tennis, and learning how to live in the woods. Nighttime activities include everything from camp-wide Harry Potter-themed Olympics to shaving parties (for the teenage girls) to simply hanging out with your (super cool) counselors. You can hike Mount Washington and canoe up and down the many lakes of Maine and New Hampshire. From a counselor perspective: I was admittedly exhausted for most of the time, but it was incredibly fun and shaped my life in ways I didn't realize at the time. I now work in Corporate America, but the experiences I gained--building rapport with campers of varying ages, supervising staff, learning how to manage my time, and remembering to take time to rest--have helped me quite a bit in my "adult" life. Now in its 100th summer, Camp Arcadia is the place to be!

This camp overworks the young counselors and pays horribly for the amount of work and…read moreresponsibility they place on their shoulders. The parents are paying so much money and they exploit their counselors and pay them next to nothing and do....what with the rest? There was a Typhoid exposure with a kitchen worker this year and they covered it up and didn't tell the parents or anyone at camp about it until the CDC was alerted to this exposure (most likely from wherever he sought medical care) and came to inspect the camp - which the camp failed on almost all areas. They were given a certain amount of time to get it together and make the camp safe before they were going to take action and shut it down. One of the young counselors (17 years old) had an allergic reaction and their supervisor tried to make them still work instead of resting and recuperating from said allergic reaction. The administration would work the counselors like they weren't even humans. Overall, the camp's conduct and the way they treat the counselors is totally unsafe - which is also unsafe for the campers. It sounds like it used to be a nice camp, but not under the current administration.

My fiancé, two friends, our three dogs, and I rented a pontoon boat for the day at a cost of approximately $700. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a group of 5-6 very young staff members, who appeared to be around 16-17 years old. While they were polite, they openly expressed that they were short-staffed and seemed unsure of their responsibilities. We took the boat out roughly 10 minutes to Long Lake and anchored near an island, remaining a respectful distance from shore. While swimming, my fiancé noticed that one of the propeller blades felt unusually sharp and jagged--something we made note of but could not inspect further in the water. Upon returning the boat, the same young staff members met us and again mentioned being understaffed. While we were unloading, one of them asked if we had hit anything, to which we replied no. He then asked if anyone had taken a photo of our driver's license. No one had. He informed us that the employee who checked us in failed to complete the required pre-inspection of the boat and did not verify or document any identification. He told us not to worry and sent us on our way. The following day, we were charged an additional $270 for a damaged prop. When we contacted the marina to dispute the charge and explain the situation, we asked for time-stamped photos from the prior rental to verify the condition of the boat before our use. What we received were unclear images of a broken prop shown on an iPad screen--without any timestamps or verifiable context. Despite the lack of proper pre-rental inspection and the vague evidence provided, the marina insisted that we were liable for the damage simply because we were the last to use the boat. This feels both unfair and negligent. Not only did their team fail to follow standard rental protocols, but their oversight could have led to serious safety risks. A cracked or compromised propeller has the potential to break mid-use, putting not only us but our pets--and potentially children and other boaters--at risk. Given the cost of the rental, the inexperience of the staff, and the marina's failure to take responsibility for their mistakes, I cannot in good faith recommend Moose Landing Marina. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and implements proper training and accountability moving forward
