My girlfriend and I have made it a tradition to come every year, this year being year 5. We love it but good lord if your camper doesn't have a shower and bathroom steer clear of this place. The facilities year by year are more disgusting. We've been here for two nights now, the men's room is a genuine biohazard, the showers are filthy it's awful. It's a shame they don't pay any attention to the onsite facilities. The men's room has two stalls, one of which is full of feces leaving only one stall usable and while you brush your teeth your greeted with an overwhelming smell. The showers come with guests, plenty of spiders and a nasty ass curtain to greet you.

It is very very dark at night at this park. So just be aware. Obviously nothing that they can control, but when having to take your dog out at night, and all of the junk covered in tarps all around.. you tend to forget what is junk and what are large shadowy things in the night. Won't be back. They don't care if you come either. So don't bother. Much better places to stay in the area. I also feel their website is misleading. Leading with a huge picture of Lake George. You can rent mountain bikes, canoes, pedal carts, and inner tubes for little money. The nice owner was happy to explain that you should paddle up river as there you will find two little islands and the end of the northern portion of rapids. We grabbed four life jackets and two paddles. Short walk down the hill, picked up our canoe, and walked a little further down the hill to the launching area. It was an absolute beautiful canoe ride north with little resistance against the current. When we reached the two little islands, the kids and us ventured around and swam. We saw lots of birds, fish, and even turtles. We paddled to the rapids and walked around the rocks. So many trout and other fish. Water was a tad cold. It was such a great time. Paddle easily back with the current. Dragged the canoe back up the hill and returned the life jackets and paddles. The owner asked how our trip was and happy to hear the details. Next, we had a fire to cook our hotdogs and corn on the cob. Ate and read our books is the best weather ever. Then, we immediately jumped into the swimming pool for some more water fun. Everyone around here is so kind and happy. Highly recommend this for single, couple, and family camping fun. Peace and quiet with a little relaxing adventure thrown in.

It been over 20 years since I've…read morebeen here and it puts a smile on my face knowing that many of the places I remember from my childhood such as the House of Frankenstein wax museum, Capri Pizza, Lake George Steamboat Company, Battlefield State Park, the Million Dollar Beach, and much more are still here. The City of Lake George has done a great job keeping this town beautiful for the locals and visitors who come here. There is plenty of places to shop, eat, and enjoy some light entertainment. We stopped up for their annual Oktoberfest and had a blast. The weather was chilly in the am but warmed up through the day. We found parking for $10 in a large open lot and walked up to Shepard Park where the even was being held. We had a great time at the event and all the staff working were friendly and kept up on maintaining restrooms and trash. Oktoberfest was free to enter; drinks and food were reasonably priced. My family and I had a blast dancing to some iconic Polka's and joining in with the band on the Germain Cowbells. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time in Lake George and I can't wait to visit again soon.

However, if you would like, you can purchase an additional photo package and they will take pictures for you and then give them to you on a SIM card. I'm sure there's some truth to this, but I did see people from a previous outing bring a GoPro with them, and nobody on the boat seemed to mind. Therefore, the picture restriction seems like a clear upsell opportunity to me, and it was honestly very frustrating. therefore, I would encourage that you call ahead and ask what their policies are around photography before paying, only to find that if you want photos, you'll have to pay extra. Beyond that, the crew on the boat was great, and parasailing was fun. It's just too bad that I don't have any photos of me or my family flying through the air.
