Jones V has sadly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He died doing something he truly enjoyed. Thomas graduated from South Glens Falls in 2006 and continued on to get an Associate's degree from ACC. After graduating from ACC, he worked at Trustco bank in South Glens Falls for a short time until he realized that he had to follow his dreams. Five years ago, he decided he wanted to open his own business and that is when Devocean Watersports was born. He managed to put together a great team of employees that helped him with boat charters and jet-ski tours on Lake George, out of the hotel "Twin Birches." Thomas loved his business and put everything he had into it. His smile and enthusiasm was infectious to everyone he met along his journey in life. He really enjoyed teaching people how to do things that was out of their norm. Thomas also made many friends down in Marathon within the keys were he went every winter, enjoying life to the fullest. He was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Jones IV. Thomas is survived by his mother Denise Jones, his brother Patrick Jones, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowen and two uncles Christopher and Bob Bowen. We all packed our own drinks and completely forgot the most important part; the cups and ice. But no worries! Our guide had the boat fully equipped with ice cubes and cups and we were all able to enjoy a nice, fun and relaxing ride in the lake. We got full control of the bluetooth speakers and had a nice time meeting the other patrons and sharing music with each other. Overall, this was very comfortable and enjoyable for all of us. Additional notes: The bathroom was also very clean. The young man driving the boat gave us a nice, smooth ride despite slight choppiness in the water. Yes some of the buildings are in need of repair (the building in Barbara C's pictures), but they are being worked on. This facility is run by a husband and wife and they are doing a fabulous job to keep up with all of the repairs and keep the facility looking nice. To Barbara C, Rome wasn't built in a day and repairs to buildings aren't fixed in a day as well. Also, you have bathroom facilities in your camper so why didn't you use those? The playground equipment is not in disrepair it is in good shape and the children I saw playing on it seemed like they were having a great time. As for the game room, did you happen to see the "New" game room? Obviously not, as you would have seen that it is very nice. As far as hearing the Northway, hello you're camping right next to it so you're going to hear the traffic. As I said before my weekend was very nice, and I would recommend this campground to anyone that was looking for a nice small family place to camp.

We stop at the Lake George Visitor Center frequently during our summer visits to the village. The first thing you notice inside is how friendly everyone is. You can grab brochures for boat tours, hiking, ice cream spots, even fireworks schedules, and they really seem to enjoy pointing out what might make your trip special. There is an interactive map that breaks down the lake and the surrounding region, plus displays summarizing local history and attractions throughout Warren County. That mix of information and welcome makes you feel like you are being handed the keys to the Adirondacks instead of a stack of paper. The restrooms tucked behind the center are a nice touch if you have been walking the boardwalk or coming off the beach. Perhaps not the cleanest you';; ever experience, especially during peak times, but never at the "any port in a storm" level, either. This winter the Lake George Winter Carnival used the Visitor Center as its headquarters instead of their usual spot off the beach at Sheppard Park, and it worked surprisingly well. Volunteers were in throughout the day hosting a hot chocolate bar, running the Sunday Sundae bar, selling Carnival souvenirs, and helping people navigate maps and schedules. With the brutal cold that joined us for our visit last weekend, having an excuse for an indoor respite was a nice option to have. It gave the place a lively community feel that made you glad you stopped in. In a town full of sights and things to do, the Visitor Center manages to be a reliably pleasant stop. You get solid advice, a bit of local flavor, enough history to feel enriched and a sense of where to go next. Five stars for being such a nice hub of information and good will.
