Camp Mimi has quickly become my favorite dog boarding resort. And it is definitely a resort! My puppies absolutely love it there, in fact I actually drop them off there this morning! Every time we arrive, they are super excited to be at camp Mimi's! I find them to be well organized, fairly priced, and definitely passionate about what they do. They offer many different services, Which is extremely convenient so I don't have to drive my dogs to different places. I'm confident they have a great time when they are there because they are able to run free for most of the day, and with having active dogs ( 2yo boxer and 1yo Weimaraner) they need to burn that energy. I have no issues with any of the rules or regulations they have in place, because I know they are there for the safety of my dog! We will definitely be continuing to use Camp Mimi for as long as we live in this area. read more

If I could rate this 'pet resort' 0 stars or even negative stars, you bet I would. For the span of 1.5/2 years my parents and or myself would take our sweet, female German shepherd, Bear, to camp Mimi. We are an airline family and travel quite often. Bear really liked camp Mimi at first but the last time Bear went to camp mimi she was drugged. After an 8 day stay, my elderly father had to carry our 70 pound German shepherd and place her in the car. For the next 3 days Bear was intensely lethargic and we had to carry her out to use the bathroom. Fast forward a few years later going to a different grooming/kennel place to find out from a previous worker that Bill and Sylvia do in fact tranquilize/ drug animals. Thankfully, we have a very happy, healthy, and energetic 6 year old girl, but, the thought of these adults hurting another animal is enough to make me sick. Please DO NOT take your animal to camp Mimi. I absolutely wish I had some sort of proof of this so that I could put these folks out of business. Attached are photos of my sweet Bear girl. Use caution! The owners seem great and I bet they are. However they do not keep this camp secure. After 1 hour on the first day, my 25 lb labradoodle escaped through a hole in their small dog yard. Then employees chased after her which pushed her far into the woods. It took a team of community volunteers, a professional dog trapper and my family living in the woods for 37 grueling hours to get her back. I would never trust them with my pet! In trying to socialize our new puppy we wanted a daycare facility where he could socialize with other dogs in a safe environment and Camp Mimi was the absolute best decision we could have made! Rocc quickly learned how to socialize with other dogs, receives daily exercise and has even learned how to swim! Mimi requires various vaccinations that other facilities did not, which put our mind at ease that safety was top priority to Mimi. We love the fact that Mimi also lives on the grounds and that our Rocc is always safe. We could not be happier with Camp Mimi and Rocc loves it! Highly recommend! read more

Although I used Mimi's a few years ago and no longer live in the area I feel compelled to write a review since my experiences so match others and because this is for a family member (our pets) I think it's important to mention a similar history with this establishment. The place is impressive at first glance. As an airline pilot I used Mimi's facility several times for overnight stays. My dog was always hesitant to stay when she realized where she was headed. That should have been a red flag but I wrote it off to separation anxiety. Mimi was for the most part always short tempered and rude. Again I wrote this off to the facility being new at the time and it being attached to her home. She had very strict rules and treated me like a subordinate several times even though I spent several hundred dollars on numerous occasions. Even when I would call to check on my dog they would seem irritated. Also, the fact that they refused to have cameras that could be monitored via the internet was a red flag as well. A worker told me that Mimi refused to install them. Perhaps they have them now. The final straw was when I went to pick up my dog one afternoon and Mimi had another staff member bring her out. They told me my dog was "poked" by a stick while playing and it punctured her face right below her eye. That being said the employee stated she was fine and to treat with hydrogen peroxide. On the way home I could see my dog was in pain and that this was more serious and immediately took my dog to the Vet. They found that this was in fact much more serious. The Vet found that this was a bite from a large dog with bite marks below her eye and on top of her head. While I don't necessarily blame Mimi's for the bite, she and her staff clearly lied to me about what happened. The vet bill was $250, and when I wrote to Mimi about the Vet findings I received an answer that I considered to be totally unsatisfactory. This was the last time I gave them my business as now their honesty came into play as well as the other red flags. I write this review well after the fact because after reading recent reviews it is clear there is a continuing pattern here that should concern those who consider using this facility. Camp Mimi is every dog's dream. The indoor facility is immaculate and the dogs have so much fun. I love that she posts pictures for everyone to see. Comparing prices of boarding pets at a vet/clinic-honestly Camp Mimi is pretty much the same price, if not competitive. You get so much more with this doggie day camp. Outdoor time is not extra when you board your pets and they get hours outside to run and play. Mimi makes sure new pups will be compatible with others and really cares about her k9 campers. Being that I used to be a camp counselor at Camp Mimi, I know how the operation runs. I know Mimi keeps her facilities squeaky clean and her campers happy. Yesterday I took my dog to Camp Mimi. She dug under the fence and escaped for two hours. Mimi called my daughter demanding that she come help them find my dog. My daughter was at work in Canton, two hours away. Mimi didn't realize my daughter was still on the line, and she heard Mimi call my dog, "That F***ing Dog". When I contacted Mimi, she was also very mean and demanded I come pick up my dog immediately. I was in downtown Atlanta with my dad at a doctor's appt. Mimi acted like it was my fault that my dog got lose. My dog was her responsibility. She was in charge of keeping my dog safe. She did not come out and meet me when I picked up my dog. She should have been out there apologizing. I emailed Mimi and asked for a refund. She declined. She never once apologized. Mimi is mean and has a very cold personality. She is arrogant and declines to admit when she is wrong. I will never recommend this doggie day care to anyone. You have been warned! read more

WARNING: If you are looking for a great doggie daycare website, you have found it. If you'd actually like the peace of mind that you are leaving your loved dog in capable, caring and compassionate hands...keep moving. You will most likely be greeted by a prerecorded message with a soft and caring voice. That's where it ends. I chose to board my dog at Camp Mimi two months ago to go on a family vacation. Mimi herself handled my reservation and although she was very impatient, abrasive and had military speech pattern, I was hoping this was just because she took pride in her business and was organized. Unfortunately that is not the case! Prior to our first visit, we received five different confirmation of reservation calls. All within three hours. Upon visiting her facility, there were noticeably strict restrictions on area's you could and could not see during the tour. The excuse was always that she didn't want to disrupt the dogs. Also, under no circumstances will dogs be picked up or dropped off when the owners would like. You may only drop off and pickup in a very small window of time each day. The icing on the cake was our arrival day. Mimi had no record of the reservation even after the multiple confirmation calls. She was unapologetic and sternly told us we were a day early. I think not Mimi. Your employees confirmed five times. Maybe the sixth confirmation would've been the charm and someone would've gotten it right. I recently found myself in a position that I required dogcare again. Mimi took the reservation and I didn't think of it again, until....... She called to confirm my reservation. As the call began I heard her yelling and demeaning an employee. Then she tells me that I need to hold on as shes needing to train a new person. I patiently waited, remembering that last time ( two month's ago) she was also training a new employee. Turnover seems to be huge! That's always a red flag to me as a consumer. But the parts that sealed the deal to me? She told me during the phone call that I must decide immediately if 1. I need grooming services 2. Nails trimmed 3. A brush out And must decide right now ( the appt is 10 days away) Because she has over 30 other dog owners to call and needs to train someone and cant wait on me. Really? I'm the customer and a civilized, polite one at that. I expressed to her that i would let her know of my dogs groomimg needs within a day. She then said, " fine" and told me i wasnt understanding. She needs to wrap this reservation up as she has things to do...all while yelling at the same employee while trying to cover the receiver in an attempt for me not to hear. Mimi, if this is how you act when I can hear, how are you treating my dog and employee's when I can't hear???? Forty five seconds later she called me back. I am thinking, she realized her behavior was unprofessional and would apologize. Nope, she wanted to continue to fight. I didn't engage. Today, I cancelled. I lost almost $100 in a cancellation fee. That should tell you something. I booked at a different doggie daycare today. After telling the employees this story, 3 different customers said, " we are Mimi survivors".... and got out. Made me think of World War II for a minute. Needless to say......Thumbs down for Camp Mimi and Mimi I over looked red flags....i wont anymore! read more

Nice physical facility and very slick marketing on web page. BUT this outfit practices " politically correct"Breed Discrimination and refused to accept our Staffy because .... Ready for this?.... " he looks like a pit bull". You kidding me? Difference between Pitties and Staffy's is 30/ 40 pounds and 4 to 6 inches at shoulder. These people probably would have difficulty discerning difference between a dachshund and a draft horse. Do not take your pet to Camp Mimi! I've been using Camp Mimi for several years now to board my dog when we were out of town. We recently experienced what turned out to be a nightmare. Instead of taking care of your pet, the owner (Mimi) would rather drug your pet to the point that he can not function so that she does not have to deal with him and then will call you screaming like it is your fault! At 6:15 am on the last day of our trip, I received a phone call from Mimi. She was screaming at me that she had tried to get in touch with me all weekend and I did not answer. (She called me once from a number that said "No Caller ID" which I never answer because it is usually a salesperson calling. If the number had said "Camp Mimi" I would have answered!) She said my dog was having separation anxiety and chewed on the metal fence that she boards him in. She then took him out and put him in a crate. She said he chewed on the crate also. I had taken some anxiety medicine for her to use if there were thunderstorms the weekend we were out of town. The only time we have ever given it to him was whenever there were fireworks in the area because he was scared of them. He could take up to 2 tablets. She gave him the medicine, but it had not worked. She wanted to increase the dose so she tried to call my dog's vet, but they would not okay increasing his dose. She then had her vet increase the dose. She was giving him 3 tablets 3 times a day. He could barely function. When I picked my dog up, she met me at my car and continued screaming at me about how she had to call her vet to increase the dose of anxiety medicine. She threw my dog's things at me and stormed back inside of her facility. My dog's eyes were glazed over and he was extremely thirsty. I took him straight to the vet to have him checked. He had a cut in his mouth where he had chewed on the fence, but otherwise he was okay considering what he went through. The owner has a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde personality like I have never seen before. If I had seen the reviews on Yelp before now, I would have never taken him there. My dog and I are not her only victims. read more

I've boarded my dog here on several occasions. After being told to bring the things necessary for my dog's care, upon arrival they were disregarded. We were constantly pressured into boarding for more time than needed. We could never get an accurate quote of the price for boarding until we were there to pay. Upon picking my dog up on two occasions, she was incredibly dirty and her collar was practically ruined and needed replacing. It's very close to my house and would be convenient, but I was completely turned off by the treatment from the owner. Not to mention I knew people who had been employed there and said nothing but negative things about the way they were treated. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

I travel a great deal and have lived in a number of different cities and have always felt guilty about leaving my dog in a kennel until I found Camp Mimi. My boy Enzo loves camp Mimi & immediately gets excited the moment we enter the gate.The facility itself is fantastic, with eight wonderfully wooded acres for the canines to romp and play, and a bone shaped swimming pool for them to cool off. My dog, Carly, loves to stay at Camp Mimi! When we drop her off, she is excited to get out and play; when we pick her up, she is happy and worn out. We have been using Camp Mimi for over a year now (boarding frequently), and have gotten used to the routine that Mimi has set. As other reviewers have pointed out, Mimi runs a very tight ship and is not as personable as other small business owners. I like that she is very clear on boarding requirements, costs and contract services. Having clear expectations is an excellent approach for handling dogs, as they don't like "gray areas," indecision and weak leadership. In this structured environment, my border collie mix loves to play and wrestle, incite a chase, and swim in the pool. I am confident that Mimi and her staff manage all of the dogs diligently and consistently. Camp Mimi provides an open play area that encourages appropriate dog socialization, exercise and care. This may not be suitable for all dogs - or owners - but for my Carly, it is a great vacation and excellent doggie daycare. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I went here for a job interview. The women Mimi who is owner and seems to control every aspect is extremely rude. I wished I had run when I witnessed her convesation on the phone with a women asking to board her dog.(Astraulian Shepard). She told the women out right that her dog would not be allowed to stay in, or lay around if he wanted. It's not how we do it here. The women got very upset with her because she was being so unreasonable. Finally after she hung up the phone she laughted it off. I Love dogs didn't think much of it. I was asked to come in the next morning to work along with another girl to learn what the job would be like and to see if it was a good fit. I showed up at 5:45. I worked till 10:30 cleaning dog dished, learning feeding schedules, took care of cats too. after cleaning up cats, and windows which is appearently a weekly duty. I did it all. Took out about 14 dogs,it was a friday therefore there were severaly drop offs I had to respond to instantly. Finally once all dogs were there we went out for the rest of the morning/afternoon. I filled the water basins for the dogs to be sure they were hydrated. I spent the entire time moving the dogs around like they were in a corral. after about an hour an a half I saw the dogs getting tired as they naturally would. So I slowed down with them. I noticed my coworker wouldn't allow them to stop moving. She would yell at them and tell them to keep moving. So I asked her "what's up are the dogs not even allowed to relax,joking. She said "NO"! I was shocked and she was dead serious. I noticed that alot of them started to become aggited, as I could understand why. I was too. That wasn't the worst of it. after the other girl leaves another women showed and proceeded to push dogs in the pool. Some dogs hate water. I have a St. Bernard and I found this very offensive. She never allowed us water, a place to sit. She sits in the air conditioned office, and isn't even apart of any of the work involved. I realized what she was doing. She lives there and doesn't want to be burdened by the barking of a dog so she takes them to the extreme to physical exhaustion. I felt it in one day working there. Needless to say I politely declined this postion,told her to just mail my days pay. She tells me She isn't going to pay me. WHAT! I couldn't believe it! So I informed her I will have to report her to the labor board if she doesn't. She sent me a disrespectful e-mail saying" it's perfectly leagal to not pay people I had 4 workers just this week and didn't pay them"."I do it all the time. REALLY! WOW! I'm from Boston and have never heard of it. Someone not paying you to work all day. The South I know is no different. It's illegal what she is doing,not to mention the abuse of control over the workers and animals in her control. People assume because their dogs are so tired when they get them that they had fun. Look at the unhappy camper under her webpage. That dog is trying to tell his owner he is exhausted and doesn;t want to return to boot camp!Beware! read more

We boarded our dogs there for what was supposed to be10 days for a trip to Europe. Unfortunately my wife and son made the flight but I did not. After another attempt the following day I finally resigned myself to let them enjoy the trip and I would stay home. On day 3 I called Mimi's and informed them that I did not make the flights and would be coming to pick them up later that afternoon. Upon picking them up I was given their things and thanked for using their facility. When I asked about a partial refund I was told I would have to talk to the owner (Mimi). I contacted her via email the following day to explain what happened and to see how much of my near $1,000 I would be getting back. She informed me that should would send me a check for $30.00 for the brush out service... I'm sorry what? They stayed less than 48 hours and you want $1,000? This woman is an atrocious small business owner and a discredit to the field. She has the reputation of being cold and calculating and now we've seen it first hand.
