Today I took my dog to be groomed and get a summer cut....I told the girl who took him back, "do not cut his ears length" she nodded ok, A couple of hours later I received a call "I am so sorry I did not see the note regarding Charlie's ears" of course they are extremely short; this is a shiatzu; I would think a dog groomer would know not to do that. common sense....of course I flipped out when I got him. They were waiting for me to keep apologizing however when someone messes up your dog, there is no apology that will work, you are furious which I was. Did I flip out? Yes.....more than I would any other time, after hair grows back. The comments from the groomer were what really set me off see below 'the jokes on you....I've groomed ur dog before and you loved it" "like I said I'm sorry.... lol....okay maam These were her responses to me, verbatim. So for me to be extremely angry when I picked him up is an understatement. Now they will come back and say, I was outraged.....I was....I used profanity.......absolutely mainly because they could care less that I was extremely upset over the exact thing I had asked the not to do. I guess at the end of the day I should have known better to take him to a groomer I did not have any history with. I needed a place to board Arnold, my 85lbs Pit Mastiff. I usually take him to Pet Suites but they were completely booked. I Yelped a few options and came across CRAM. They have a very unique approach to doggie daycare. No cages! I was concerned at first until I saw how Christie and her staff gradually introduced other dogs to Arnold and were very aware of behaviors. I watched from a tv monitor in the lobby area. Next thing I know there are 5-7 dogs with Arnold and he was loving it. They let the dogs spend hours together the first day and today he was there a full day. I'll be boarding him overnight Friday and Saturday. The staff is very attentive to all the dogs and know how to redirect if playing gets a little escalated. Today I was working and was able to check on Arnold from my phone, watching the cams in all of the rooms. I love that he can play all day instead of being caged for 2/3 of his stay. I highly recommend CRAM to anyone who has a socialized dog, to treat them to a real play day or two. I look forward to using them more in the future! read more

Everyone is so kind at Camp Run a Mutt. You can tell that they love what they do. They are just as excited to see your fur baby as your fur baby is to get dropped off. And it's so convenient if you want to have your dog bathed and groomed before you pick them up. It's such an easy process to drop off and pick up your dog. read more

My dog, Benny, looks forward to visiting Camp Run A Mutt, wagging his tail and turning in circles when he gets there. I've never boarded him before now and I have no regrets with Camp Run A Mutt where dogs are treated as campers. The campers here are never crated, have the attention of staff at all times, they have equipment to play on, and in summer months can swim in the dog pool. We only have one dog and I've always felt bad he didn't have playmates, but now I take him there during the day and he's made "pup friends". I can look in at Benny at any time through the "mutt cams", making it more comfortable for me to leave him here because I know he is having a great time. The staff at camp are fun, friendly, and personable. The owners are hands on at camp and absolutely love dogs. I will drop Benny off for day time play dates and overnights when I'm out of town without hesitation. read more

My wife is very selective about how and where we leave Misty our 8 # Morky. She has had her for 12 years and worry about her separation anxieties. The cage free set up and caretakers having "Sleepovers" with the pups is their best selling point. We have watched the staff interacting with the dogs around the clock. Their temperament assessment to select the groupings the dogs should be with is very sound in principal as opposed to by size and breed. Our only concern is not the fault of CRAM but maybe our fault at home. she sleeps a lot when home but can still get out and run when she wants to. At camp we watch her on the cams and she is in constant motion all day and into the evening trying to be social but never a time to lay around for awhile. She comes home exhausted and sleeps for like 3 days lol. Other than that after camp exhaustion I feel very solid about leaving Misty in their care. read more

My dog has been to Camp over 20 times, and I just purchased another set of 20 full day passes. Luka is very happy at Camp, and he comes home very well exercised. This is the first dog I've had that actually had 'working dog' in him, and that very high level of energy was originally a challenge. After a day at Camp Run-A-Mutt, I'm able to train in the evenings. I've spent a good amount of time watching MuttCam, and only ever see the dogs interacting well, or if one gets a little too enthusiastic they throw a leash on and settle them down. The staff is always walking around looking for any behavior that might lead to issues, and they address it quickly and calmly. I have never noticed any issues with the staff. There was a concern stated in another review that no one actually interacts with your dog...but I want my dog playing with other dogs. And that happens all day long. read more

As much as I would like to love this place, Camp Run a Mutt is not a safe place to take your dog for daycare. They have lots of beautiful space and in my experience, only use 2 rooms, crammed full with dogs, some which are far too aggressive to be with other animals. They don't separate the smaller or younger dogs - all dogs are together regardless of their age. Watch the dog cameras (muttcams.com) - you will see everything you need to know. No one actually interacts with your dog. There are young kids, that look like they are high or hungover caring for your dog - or not caring as some dogs are fighting or sitting in a corner with fear. I've asked 3 times what they do to stop the dogs ( all of them ) in their tracks (sounds, scents, shock?) and cannot get a straight answer - watch on the camera, you'll see what I am talking about. I will not take our dog there ever again. If you want your dog to be riddled with anxiety when they leave or to become aggressive, this is the place for you! read more

My usual dog sitter wasn't available for a last minute trip, so I scrambled to find a place. Camp Run-A-Mutt had space. My pup was there for 10 days, and I was so nervous to leave her that long in an unfamiliar place. She was so happy there! The reason I know that she was happy was because they have cameras, so that you can watch your dog during day time hours. At night, a staff member sleeps with the dogs, in one big room. The entire staff is very engaging with the dogs, giving affection and attention throughout the day. A staff member took my pup home on her birthday, to give her a little extra special attention. Camp Run-a-Mutt Columbus is a fantastic business run by a local family who loves dogs. We have been bringing our dog here for daycare since shortly after they opened and we have boarded our dog here as well (their boarding is cage free). They conduct a temperament test on all dogs before allowing them to stay, so your dog is in a safe space. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable ($21 for up to six hours of daycare). Our dog loves it here - She gets so excited when we ask her if she wants to go see her friends today - and she always comes home worn out and ready to relax, which we love. We called and booked a reservation for our pup over the Christmas holiday. The problem is that we live out of state, stopping first to visit family in Columbus and then onto visit other family elsewhere. Camp-Run-A-Mutt was prepared to bring our pup in (with a trial period) without never hosting the pup before. Unfortunately, the winter storm made us cancel our plans, but I still wanted to give the folks there a compliment for their outreach and willingness to help us out-of-towners. read more

The facilities are nice and frequently cleaned. I have the comfort like I'm leaving my pup with a close friend for the day. Two days before our planned trip out of state to visit family for Thanksgiving we received a call from the person set to watch our German Shepherd telling us they had to back out due to a family emergency. Fortunately for us, the Columbus location of Camp Run-A-Mutt had just opened and still had an open slot for her. We were immediately impressed not only by the facility itself, but the friendly and accommodating staff as well. Christie, Todd, and the rest of the staff genuinely care for the dogs they are being trusted with and it shows. After competing a temperament test and trial day to ensure she would be a good fit for cage-free boarding, we departed feeling extremely confident in our decision. We loved having the ability to check in on her via the live camera feeds throughout our trip, and tuned in multiple times right as she in the middle of a game of fetch or belly rub. Camp Run-A-Mutt turned out to be the silver lining of an otherwise hectic situation, and will be our first choice the next time we find ourselves heading out of town! read more
