We saw many people out for an afternoon stroll, both on their own and with their dogs. It was wonderful to sit and eat together in the fresh air. There are plenty of large, grassy areas to set up a blanket, as well as picnic tables available. ​Everything is kept very clean. The trash cans were not overflowing, so it's clear the grounds are regularly maintained. I also really appreciated the dual water fountain designed for both people and dogs...such a great feature if you bring your pets along! ​Just a heads-up, I didn't notice any public restrooms, so if you don't live nearby, you may want to bring a portable potty for little ones.

Only two baby swings on the top playground and they looked really dirty I wouldn't want to put my son there. Considering that sign says for 2-5 year olds it didn't look that safe for 2 yr old. The playground had opening where a child could fall off or through. So definitely for I would say 6 and up. Of course I'm up there with my son but he could fall through so quickly. And we sat down on the grass but there was tons of dog poop all around. I had to just pack up my things because there was too many. Not sure why dog parents are not picking up their dogs poop. I don't blame the park for that but for the dog owners. We brought our two dogs with us which enjoyed the walk around the park but the fact that there was dog poop everywhere, we won't be back. You definitely could accidentally step on it if you walk through the grass area. Even my stroller could've ran over it. Again that's not the parks fault-it's dog owners not being responsible smh

Plenty of picnic tables and shelters. The shelter by the water needs a reservation on busy days but is otherwise free for every day use. Limited parking at the park. Many disabled spots though. Street parking is available just make sure you back in or they'll give you a hefty ticket. Kite park is in between the 2 large playgrounds so bring your kites !

There are two kids playgrounds on the south and north side with picnic tables, barbecue grills and a path for jogging or bike riding. There is access to the water but no lifeguards are on duty. They have a different theme every Wednesday for the carshow. The music varies, sometimes country, rock and they have Tribute bands.There are numerous restaurants in the area and street vendors selling food popcorn and icecream. I'd suggest you Google Dinner and a Concert El Cajon to look at the schedule to pick your favorites. I've seen reviews that mentioned homeless and thugs, I've never been bothered by either. Over all it's great place for locals to get out, enjoy the southern California sunshine see cool cars and listen to some great music.

My family and I had a great time here during some playground explorations…read more The park is in a residential area and it gives it a great welcoming feel. There wasn't a parking lot but there is plenty of street parking and I had no problem finding a spot to park right across from the playground. The street it is on was pretty slow so we had no issues or worries about crossing the street but we also could have parked on the other side if we did. The park is pretty sizable. There is a great amount of grass you can picnic on, hang out at, play, whatever you decide. There is also basketball courts to ply on and they aren't right on top of other areas so you really can play and not have any worries. There is also a playground that has both a toddler area and a big kid area. There are also some picnic tables built in near the playground area. While we ran around the grass and basketball area a bit, the main reason for our visit was for the playground. I loved how big the toddler play structure was. It gave a lot of space for my kids to run around and not be on top of other kids. There were also some really great slide options on this structure. We also played on the big kid structure which was a great combo of climbing and normal structures. My toddler stayed on the half that he could easily handle and skipped the climbing. The slides on this structure were awesome and really fast. There were no problems with him playing with the big kids either. There are also a few random playground pieces like the swings, some game areas, and monkey bars. The playground bottom is wood chips which is incredibly common but not my favorite for playgrounds. It is hard to clean up, it often pokes and hurts us at some point as well, and not that great when you fall on it. There are no bathrooms here which is okay for us now but I will have to remember for once we start potty training. The last negative to me is the lack of extra shade on the playground equipment. There are some great trees that offer shade and the playground structures have tops on a couple of the areas but those tops are more decorative than function and it is currently hot and sunny out! I wished my kids had been in more shade and it made the slides really hot. Overall, we had a lot of fun here and we know we will be back but the lack of shade is big for us and our fair skinned kids so we will wait for fall/winter to come back when we do t need the shade as much.

There are barbecue grills, fire rings and restrooms. Parking is not the greatest so many times for big events, cars end up parking on the dirt lot between Quivera Road and the bike path. Located on the southern side of Quivera Basin and right down the road from the City of San Diego Lifeguard Station, the Gazebo is a popular structure--particularly in the summer. Every weekend it is abuzz with family gatherings, reunions and charity events. During the colder months, a variety of vagrants will hang out here because it is some much needed shelter from the elements. The location of Hospitality Point Park & this Gazebo is perfect because it it situated at a corner which takes in sweeping views of Mission Bay, Ocean Beach and Dog Beach, the Pacific Ocean and the San Diego River channel. One reason I did deduct 1 YELP STAR is that because of this awesome location, it can be very breezy and windy on occasion. Also, in the last few years, the City of San Diego has made it so the gazebo has to be reserved for private use and costs $20/ hour in rent. You have to go to Balboa Park to reserve it and pay for the spot. I ride my bike along the jetty past Hospitality Point Gazebo all the time and always enjoy watching the happy gatherings that take place here.

This large park is located in City Heights, and is located next to a school. The layout is a giant…read moresquare and easily housed the lunar new year festival in Feb 2026. Parking is hit or miss especially if there is a large event like the festival. We had to park way around back past the school, but it was just a short easy walk over to the entrance. The entrance was lined with ballons, flowers, lanterns, dragons and all kinds of cool decorations. The festival was going on most of the day with vendors, food, performances, information, etc. There were also some neat photo opportunity spots referencing some great spots all over Asia. Officer Jeremy Henwood was a San Diego Police Officer who gave the ultimate sacrifice in a traffic stop where he was murdered on August 7,2011. He was a Marine Corps veteran where he served honorably and was with SDPD for 4 years. The park is located off Wightman Street with plenty of parking. There is a small children's playground for the kids to slide and swing, and they also have large luscious green grass where you can run around or even play some soccer. There is a performance stage center as well where throughout the year the park hosts many special events such as the annual Vietnamese New Year festival. The stage is huge where you can watch singers, dancers and performers display Their talent for your entertainment. When they host these special events, there are also a lot of yummy food stalls and vendors selling delicious street food. Come out to the park and enjoy the beautiful San Diego sun while breathing in fresh air and enjoying the nature the earth has to offer.
