Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day. Chair is absolutely a transformation. Comfortable and I can't wait to use as a prop. Love the oatmeal color I chose.

In an "old money" colonial New England town where some shop owners can be prickly or even hostile this was a wonderful experience. The textiles were beyond beautiful. If you know and enjoy top tier fabrics you will lose your mind here. Silk screened linen, pure silks, embroidered rolls in EVERY style...this place is a creative persons dream come true. And with friendly, casual, giving staff? It really doesn't get better than this. The prices are FANTASTIC! Strangely, we ended up buying a vintage painting they had. They didn't require a deposit. The chairs look SPECTACULAR. The craftsperson removed some tufting, created new seat pillows and a denser cushion as well as new springs in the seat. My only complaint is that they never called me with the estimate and it ended up being more than I expected by about 30%. But, in a Safavieh catalog the chairs would have been much more in a lesser fabric, so I'm happy.

Colin did an amazing job repairing an antique china cabinet that was improperly dismantled for a…read morecross-country move. The movers removed the feet and bottom wooden piece, without asking, then walked away without putting it back together. Colin came, took the feet and wood, rebuilt the broken feet, removed wood glue from many years past and rebuilt the cabinet. Once the feet were cleaned up and reattached the bottom wood piece, he came back and reattached everything to the china cabinet. It is now more solid than it had been in over fifty years. This piece has been in our family for three generations and I am so thrilled to have it back in its full beauty again. Colin is a thoughtful, meticulous craftsman and I would hire him again in an instant to repair any piece.
