It's been more than 20 years -- 20 years! -- since I brought a laptop to be repaired to David when he sat behind a desk in his two-room plant, he behind a desk, a likeably eccentric repairman in a brown-wool vest across the hall. I've spent more than $20,000 here since, Today I brought in an Apple USBC-C Charger Cable he'd sold me less than a month ago that wasn't working.. I was offered this option: a) We can send it out for a new one, will be free, or b) We can sell you a new one, because, as the salesperson said, "always good to have two..." 20 years is basically one-fourth of the life I'm going to live, right? So 've spent one-fourth of it -- as in, the laptop-communication quarter-life where I sold books and made a decent iiving while relying on his hardware - and he wants to screw me over for $25 dollars? As Phish sings, "Waitin' for the time when I can finally say, `This has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way.'" The backroad drive to Danbury is pretty nice. read more

This is the best Apple store and it's right here in Lakeville, CT. We have told all our friends about it and many of them drive an hour to bring their wounded laptops to David and his brilliant IT people. Visionary has all the latest and greatest computers and accessories, but their greatest strength is that they can fix anything and they are totally honest about saving whatever they can. I was directed to this location by the Apple website because the back of my phone was cracked and this repair location was close. Since I had a repair plan, I needed to use an authorized dealer. I made an appointment online for the end of the week and showed up only to find that there was not a repair technician on location for my appointment time. A Visionary Computer employee told me that the Apple repair sign up doesn't work with their system and I was made to believe this is a regular issue. I was patient however, bought a new case while they looked at my phone and decided they needed to order parts. Next week I made another appointment to come back when the parts came in and made sure the technician would be in. I dropped my phone off early for my appointment and decided I would pay the additional $65 for them to restore my phone after completing the repairs. I was told I couldn't pick it up till 5 pm. When I came to get the phone at 4:50 pm they said they couldn't do the restore and I had to call my carrier and they handed me my new looking but non-functioning phone. I couldn't believe they didn't call me at home before initiating this knowing they couldn't restore it. I had a kid to pick up at practice and I needed to go to work and was unable to fix it. They said they sent me an email - not a mode of communication we had discussed before I left my phone. Because of how they reset my phone, I could not just use my apple ID and backup to get into the device. I now need to wait 6 days to use the phone so Apple can reset my password because they gave my phone a new IMEI number. I am beyond furious and would warn anyone to make the drive to an actual Apple store - worth the time and travel miles to have it done right. read more

I've had the pleasure of working with David, the CEO, for a couple of months, during which he explained to me, in a way that was very easy to understand, the difference between the intel chip MacBooks and the new M1 chip MacBooks. There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Visionary Computer. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, my phone broke. Actually, it froze and decided to send emergency SOS text messages to my loved ones, every fifteen minutes, scaring my family needlessly. I found the amazing women at Visionary Computer through the Apple Repair website. At 75 miles away, they were the closest shop available for repair of my phone. In addition to practicing the safest protocols, they were helpful, cheerful and in the middle of all of the stress of the pandemic, the news, and my phone texting SOS messages to my family every 15 minutes, they were a respite. I brought my computer in for a repair and I was met by the ladies at the front desk both were very nice, I dropped it off filled out some admin info and off I went. I got a call from a gentleman that looked at it and since it is old they couldn't get the parts too repair it. I was aware of this when dropping it off from doing my own research. I went back in to pick up my old computer and asked about a few of the computers they had that were used I looked at a few of them before deciding on the one I ultimately purchased. They are upfront, honest and fair. I walked out with a new too me computer and a few accessories for half the cost of a new one. Even though they were extra busy because of Apple's closure, Tony replaced my screen and had me back in business in 2 days. I was on vacation in a remote place and my computer screen went black. With Apple tech support on the phone, we determined that it was a hardware problem, and they informed me about Visionary Computer, which is not too far from my home. When I returned, I brought in my computer. They determined that i needed a completely new display and ordered the part and installed it. The cost of the repair was covered under my Apple Care warranty. It took four days to analyze the problem, order the part and receive it and repair my computer, which I am writing on now. I am very grateful as it saved me a 200-mile round trip to NYC and back to the Apple store. it is great to know about Visionary computer. read more

Due to the closure of most Apple Stores due to Cover-19, I fortunately found Visionary Computer in Salisbury, CT. While a bit of a hike for me (a 1.5 hour drive) I needed my Mac fixed due to some water damage and malfunctioning. I cannot recommend Visionary highly enough. The intake was professional and so competent. The feedback was prompt. I was advised of the diagnosis and anticipated cost and the work was done well and very timely. It was a very good experience. I brought my MacBook Pro in for repair. After trying to boot the machine, s/he gave up. I was charged $60 for the tech time. I've never had to pay for time spent trying to boot a machine-- no diagnostics, no repair. I will not be using Visionary again. read more

I had a problem with my Mac book pro and took it into an apple store located at the Holyoke mall. Left it over night, they changed to battery, ran all the test, sent me home saying this Mac is good to go! Got home same issue!!!! Brought it to Visionary in Lakeville Ct and they found the issue very quickly! I will never go back to an apple store again or talk to apple reps on the phone! The only place I will use is Visionary! I have never wanted to rush home and write a review for a store so much (they didn't even ask for me to review them) They are amazing, so nice and did amazing work on my laptop. The store is very modern and not what you would except to find in a small town in CT. They sympathized with my accidental damage to my laptop and didn't make me feel like an idiot. They did the work in store, they did have to wait on a part to come in, which took maybe 2 days, but they front load the work so my laptop was ready 30 minutes after the part got to the store (they told me when there deliveries where and I did the math). No long waits like at the apple store, and they didn't make me hang around to tell me to come back in a couple of days. They made the whole process painless. I might have spent 20 minutes in the store in total. I have waited 30 just to pick up my repaired laptop at the apple store. Really happy I found this gem! read more
