Just had an awful experience at Campbell Cleaners on 9th Street. Tammy, the manager, was flippant, rude, and insulting. I brought in a lightly used wedding dress for a touch up cleaning before my wedding this Friday. The gown came back frayed, burned stained, and irreparably damaged. When I asked how this happened, she interrupted me and said we would never hand wash a gown, we throw it in a machine. I was told they would follow manufacturer directions which are to hand wash and she rolled her eyes and said "give me a break, you're out of your mind." I said I felt deceived by her promising a service she wasn't keen on fulfilling. She said my dress was dirty and thrifted as worthless and barely gave in to a refund for the cleaning. No chance she was going to comp a $2000 gown either. read more

Not recommended for alterations. The seamstress does not actually work in the store so measurements are taken by someone other than the seamstress. Issues with the alterations aren't seen by the seamstress since they are not in store and don't see you try on at pick up. I got a dress hemmed and it was way overpriced. On a positive note, the gal working at the front desk is extremely kind. read more

Great place to have alterations done. I go here frequently for that purpose. They have what looks like a full service shop catering to about everything from pressing to cleaning, except the one they don't do jacket alterations. Fine with me though, most trousers come from the manufacturer with a tiny need for bringing the pants up a little higher. This is where Campbell's comes in handy. Thanks for your service! read more

I dropped off a vintage sports jacket to be cleaned. The clerk looked it over, took the jacket, and gave me the ticket (jacket had NO DAMAGE when I dropped it off). I went to pick it up today and there were holes everywhere in the lining. I questioned the owner about it and she just kept telling me that some times that can happen with old fabrics and they don't anticipate this happening. No apology just excuses! I asked for a refund of the$12 and she refused stating that she did not anticipate it happening. She ruined my jacket and I encourage all customers to go elsewhere. Never left a negative review online before, but I'm absolutely incensed! Never going back. Ruined (shrank and puckered) a pure wool blanket I took in for a simple dry clean. Nothing was mentioned at pick-up, neither a note nor verbal heads up that one of my items had been damaged. Certainly not an offer to discount the service (much less waive the fee for something they destroyed). On getting my items home and pulling it out of the pile it was obviously puckered and much smaller than before. When I took it back to demand a refund for destroying my property, I was told to leave it there and the owner would take a look at it, then call on Monday. A *week later* (would have been sooner, if not for ER visits and other family drama), we call back and are told *by the owner* that they're not responsible for the damage they inflicted. When a refund was requested again, she said not only will they not refund or discount us, but implied that it was *our* fault we brought in something that could be damaged. As to why they hadn't followed up in a timely manner, they'd actually been trying to stretch and 'repair' it until we called! I've grown up in Corvallis, and my family has been using Campbell's for dry cleaning and alterations as long as I can remember. I have never been so disappointed in a service before, and we will not be returning. I'll go out of town before going back to them. read more

A little while ago I gave this business a rather poor review, because I was unhappy. Unhappy because I felt that I was over charged. I could have asked how much I was going to be charged before I dropped it off, but I didn't. I guess I assumed it would be a lot less.. something that I would consider fair or reasonable. The truth is my family and I have been using Campbells cleaners for what seems like forever, and we've always been happy with their service. I took several items to them for repair and cleaning for my senior citizen dad, and they were very helpful. The alterations lady was very nice and honest about whether the repairs were really possible or if I should just replace the items. I appreciate the time they took to make sure I was happy with the outcome, and with the repairs that were done. I will always take my dry cleaning here, my experience has always been very positive. Do not use the dry cleaning services at Campbell's. They ruined a sweater and a blouse by washing them with another person's clothes that had a pen in it. Tammy called to tell me about it and to let me know that she would reimburse me to replace them. I ordered a new sweater from Land's End and left Tammy a message to let her know the cost of the sweater. Tammy got my message and told me that she would only reimburse the cost that she could get the sweater for today, which happened to be half price. The blouse could not be replaced, although I ordered a comparable one. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this business in the past. I can't imagine a business owner ruining my clothes, and quibbling over $20 after I ordered the sweater. I will never be back. read more

Prices are really high and they have short hours. If you are used to 99 cent wash and press shirts, and 2 dollar pants, you are in for a major shock. Also, one of the times I had pants pressed and cleaned they didn't hang the pants, just threw them in a shopping bag which pretty much made getting them dry cleaned a moot point. read more

4/19/2018 I picked up my jacket at the Sunset location and it was fraying everywhere. The material was coming apart! I immediately returned to the store at Sunset and was told to take the item to Corvallis to show Tammy or Silvia. (both managers) On my lunch hour from work I drove to Corvallis from Philomath to be told by Silvia at the 9th street location, it wasn't their fault but to contact the manufacturer of the jacket. She looked at the label and said the company I bought the jacket from was garbage. She stated she couldn't do anything for me, not even refund me the cleaning fee. I paid to have Campbell's Cleaners ruin my most favorite jacket. I called and asked to speak to Tammy (the manager at Timberhill location) today and she would not call me back. They must know how horrible their business is. -They seem to never be able to perform simple services -expensive -They press along with dry clean without your permission. I absolutely hate going here but cleaners are slim pickings in Corvallis, and they take advantage of that. read more

I really do enjoying going to Campbell's each week to do my laundry. The hours are very flexible to accommodate all schedules, and the staff is very courteous to all of the patrons. A good example can be seen when they reimburse you, if one of their machines malfunctions during a wash or dry cycle. Moreover they do offer refreshments, an ATM, and free WIFI, which all help pass the time when cleaning your clothes. The one thing I would say they can improve on is to perhaps offer a recycling option for patron's empty detergent bottles and boxes. I believe a lot of patrons would take advantage of this. read more

This place is awful. It's dirty, hot and not very customer friendly. You have to use cards to work the machines, not quarters. Which you have to buy from the coffee bar. Which closes hours before the laundromat. If something goes wrong With one of machines, good luck getting any help. The owners don't respond to emails about the laundromat or its machines. They ruined a shirt by burning it right in the front neck are and pressed wrinkles into the other 6. Then they tried to tell me it was a stain I didnt notice even though it was about 4x6 inches. The long dark haired woman who works there is rude as is the manager, Tammy?, who hung up on me after she called me to ask what the problem was. I advise if you dont want your stuff treated like garbage to go elswhere, Zero accountability and just flat out rude, poor customer service. read more

Campbell's Cleaners has alteration services at the 9th street store, but every time (about 5 x) I've taken something in to be altered the lady who works in the department can't do the alteration for one reason or another .... Another time I left something to be cleaned I specifically said which store I would pick up my item and they clearly wrote it on the order, yet when I went to pick up my item it was at the wrong location. read more

I've been going here for a while, never really had trouble... Really disappointed because apparently they don't have a lost and found anymore. I think I left some things in the dryer and the attendant told me I could look in the trash. Why would you throw away perfectly good clothes? Why not at least donate them... I brought 9 shirts in for laundering (price was 3.15 per shirt, I paid 2.25 back east). I also had 3 new pairs of scrubs i needed hemmed and an other pair that needed a seam repaired. Campbell's wanted $15 per pair to hem and $10 to re-stitch the seam. The scrubs cost $17 per pair to buy, so $15 is only $2 less than paying the cost of material and labor to actually make the scrubs from scratch, (I'm tall and have to buy them unhemmed so I can have the right length). The seamstress was polite. I know this is about a 15 minute per garment job (at most), and the seamstress confirmed this. So Campbell's is charging $60 an hour (likely more) to hem scrubs. I keep people alive for a living and I don't make that much. I took my scrubs elsewhere and paid half that amount, I wish I had taken my shirts somewhere else also, I feel gouged. I won't be returning after I pick my shirts up. read more

Took my best coat in to have pocket and lining sewing to be done. The order got written wrong and no pockets got sewn. The lining was sewn wrong and now the coat hangs all wrong. read more

For goodness sake, call it a "party dress" not a "wedding dress". I had my wedding dress dry cleaned here. My husband dropped off the dress and when I saw the bill, I went to discuss serious over charges. The manager was completely unwilling to re-consider. They charged me $160 to clean a very simple silk dress that only cost me $300, (over 50% of the initial cost!). My dress has no embroidery, lace, or beadwork; it does not even have a button or sash. At the same time, I dropped of another silk dress that was not a "wedding dress" and they only charged $12 to clean it. The manager's only response was 'if you were in the city, it would be worse'. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future, and recommend you do too. read more

I am sad that after three visits only 1 of 4 people was nice to me. I have lived in this area for a while and I grew up in Oregon. Campbell's is big and a great family business but their customer service was the worst. Everyone seems in a rush, they don't tell you information straight about prices and they treated me like I was trying to swindle them when I didn't understand my receipt. I like that they are family run, but I would prefer to go to the other industrial looking place if I am going to be treated that way. read more

I spoke with Tammy, the owner, and we have resolved the issue. What I was told at the shop nest to Safeway on Philomath Blvd. wasn't accurate. For extra-large shirts they have to hand press the bottom of each shirt and that takes a little more time. Tammy explained that what should have been communicated was that there will be a small extra charge (25 cents) per shirt. I am okay with this and will continue to use Campbell's Cleaners. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. One of their dryers caught my bra in the top, melted the wiring and blackened it to the point of no return. I called the owner just hoping for a refund for my clothes and then I was going to go my own way and not return to this awful place BUT SHE REFUSED. She kept going on and on about how "its a fact that she has known since she was in her teens" that you "can't dry bras unless they're in a lingerie bag". That is just ridiculous. I have NEVER used a lingerie bag and have NEVER had a problem with any dryer at any self-serve laundry mat that I have EVER been to. Would just like the owner to grow up and take some responsibility for HER dryer, self-serve or not. read more
