I wanted to have a ready-to-wear/off-the-rack suit jacket's sleeves and pants shortened and needed them back within a week. She works out of her apartment and was finished within 2 days, and updated me via text message when the work was actually done. $25 for the sleeves (taken up from hem) + $15 for the pants = $40 total (according to blog posts I've read, these prices seem average). PAYMENT: (prefers) cash in advance - I had time so I ran to the bank and was back within 10 minutes, but when I initially offered to run to the bank right then, she told me "only if you have time" and seemed flexible.
