Feeling very comfortable in my Drindle this Halloween. Big thanks to Leslie.
Dawn B.

Leslie was a dream come true. She was so sweet and professional during my initial fitting. I was stressed out that my dress was way to tight in the bust but she was able to let out the side seams, move a zipper, hem the dress 3 inches and even let the elastic out of the shirt so it didn't squeeze my bicep all night. When I picked it up, I. couldn't be happier. I will wear this dress to many beer festivals, October fears and it was perfect this Halloween. Let's support our local seamstress abd give Leslie all of the business we can.

Leslie was wonderful! I genuinely appreciated her opinions and ability to work around altering my wedding dress with my unexpected pregnancy. I've never had any type clothing altered before but I do feel she did a great job and there was a high quality to her work. I did remove one star for a couple reasons. First, 3/4 of my appointments started 30-60 minutes late due to her other appointments running late. I do understand that can happen, so that wasn't a huge issue. Secondly, I was rather surprised by the price. The lace on my dress took longer to reapply from the hem than was originally intended, the price was close to $400 which I was expecting around $300. However, I would return to Leslie again if I ever need an alteration done in the future. She's extremely sweet and very knowledgeable, the only issues I had were not entirely her fault in my opinion.

I currently live in Cincinnati, Ohio but I am from Corvallis and will be getting married there this summer. After purchasing my dress at a local shop in Ohio, a tailor/alterations person was recommended to me by the dress shop. I called one day to inquire about timelines/prices/services and the woman answered very curtly and abruptly demanded that I should 'just bring the dress to her' and also, could I call back in two hours because she was out. Now, I understand the curiosity of answering the phone because you don't know the number, but if one owns a business and gives out a cell phone number to potential customers, maybe don't answer it if one is not available? A message machine would have been fine, and likely less off putting. In the end I was left with a bad feeling and never called back. I contacted another reference down the street from me that was friendly enough sounding, but I wasn't totally convinced by our conversation that she felt interested or up for dealing with me and my lace dress. Enter Leslie. After a Goldilocks like situation (too much gruff, and not enough interest) a phone call with her was a breath of fresh air. From 3,000 miles away things like this matter. In addition to the friendly conversation, I had 5 friends immediately endorse her via a Facebook request of "who does alterations in the Corvallis area?". These weren't just, 'yeah, she's good' comments, but more along the line of "I love her", "Say hi to Leslie for me", "She's the best"- type of endorsements. Impressive! After this, without hesitation, my dress and I made the journey about 6 weeks prior to my wedding to see Leslie and in the week I was in town, I had two fittings done. The first to assess (and grow to understand her popularity) and the second to see how things were coming along. We debated over bustle styles and I felt totally comfortable asking for, and truly trusting, her opinion. I felt confident with the services and thrilled to be working with such a grounded, real, honest, kind person. She was my 'just right' from previous experiences. I am back home now, my dress in capable hands as I head back just a week before my wedding when I will go back in for two additional visits to fix anything that is needed. I feel very grateful that she is able to make my out of town schedule work and I can't wait to see the dress. I have the utmost confidence that she will do a fantastic job making my dress as beautiful as it can be, helping me to feel confident in a rather formal, out of my element, garment. Specialty Sewing is located in the core of the downtown business area making it very convenient; it is upstairs from Five Star Sports for a more specific reference. The space is full of gowns, pants, shirts, skirts, etc.; it's clear many in town trust her with a proper fit. There are pictures on the wall of other brides (many who I, in fact, knew) and a book full of thank you notes sharing how pleasant it was to work with Leslie. Endorsements all over the place if you ask me. The service seems spot on, which matters a lot, but the soul of this business is Leslie. I'm thrilled to have met her and to be working with her for my wedding. I have no concerns about my dress, which is a huge improvement from 2 weeks ago. I join the cheering crowd and promoters of this local, lovely business. It's a wonderful addition to a wonderful community.

Merrime Bridal is a must stop for wedding dresses. This was my very first stop for bridal boutiques…read morefor wedding dress shopping and I do not regret my decision in making this my first stop at all. I was very nervous going into dress shopping since I am not the most savvy with dress terms nor did I really know what I was even looking for. I worked with Rose as the stylist and she made me feel so comfortable and so heard. Rose was so kind and allowed me to feel at ease being honest about what I did or did not like about each dress I tried on. Also, at Merrime it is a very personal experience which I really appreciated. There are not other appointments going on, and while Rose was my stylist, the entire Merrime team helped me with finding the perfect dress and veil. This made me feel very attended to like I was their top priority, and that they understood this was more than just a transaction. This decision is one of the biggest decisions for the bride on her wedding day and I felt like they truly valued this. They did not make me feel like the were trying to push a sale on me or rush me, but instead made me feel genuinely cared for. It honestly mattered to them that I found the perfect dress for me and one that made me feel beautiful in every way. Merrime had one of the best dress selections out of all the bridal stores I went to and the best veil selection. If you are looking for a place to go shopping for dresses, look no further because this place is must go.

Before I launch into my review, allow me to paint a picture. I gave myself less than two months to…read morefind THE dress. I kept putting it off, mostly because I hate the experience of dressing rooms and the insane pressure to find THE ONE. I had just graduated from college a month prior and the anxiety combined with post grad blues and the fact that most of my bridesmaids were unable to be there was ramping up. Before my fitting, Michelle called to ask more specifics. What did I want, what was my price range, etc. I had an envisioned a dress for months previous but thought I would keep an open mind (especially since my wedding is in two months). THANK GOODNESS I DID! I scheduled an earlier appointment and arrived with my mom and little sister in tow. The gallery had just opened which gave us the entire store to ourselves. I'm very much a bride-on-a-budget so we were mainly shopping from the Outlet. Michelle had put aside a dress that she thought would be cool, didn't pressure me, and I agreed thinking it would be fun. Little did I know, it would be the one. The entire experience was amazing; they served us seasonal mocktails during the fitting, Michelle held up a suit coat in the color of my groom to help me envision the big day clearly, I was able to try on a wonderful selection of gorgeous dresses all within my price range and even one from the Gallery. I didn't feel any condescension for the fact that I was shopping from the outlet and was treated with respect and words of affirmation. I had another appointment later in the day so I didn't nab it up right then and there...but I couldn't get the dress off of my mind. I went back a few hours later and tried it on again. Michelle was so kind, gave me all the time, and the relief when I said yes was very much mutual. She even gave me a hefty discount, which was extremely considerate. I found my NEW dream dress and I couldn't be more ecstatic over it! Can't say enough words of praise for the Bridal Gallery.

Things to know for context:…read more 1)     While losing weight, I am a very plus size bride and was nervous about the whole dress shopping experience. 2)     I have never been wedding dress shopping before. 3)     I did pay extra to ensure we had the salon to ourselves (which I recommend every bride does) Our shopping experience was reserved for a Sunday, and we made the trip down to Salem.  It was just my Maid of Honor and I attending the appointment, however I did have my mom available on Skype to be a part of the experience. Upon arrival we knocked at the door and was greeted by my consultant, Michelle.  She honestly made the appointment.  Her years of experience not only helped me find my perfect dress, but at no point did she make me feel embarrassed or ashamed of my body or the way I looked.  While the dressed could not close at my back, I was able to get them on and envision how I would look the day of my wedding. By the time I put on the third dress (yes, plus size brides, I had options!!!) I just knew that was the one.  Michelle knew exactly what veil and belt would match my dress along with a tiara (per my mom's request) and when it all came together, I was moved to tears.  I didn't ever want to take it off, and cannot wait for my first fitting. I'm very open and honest with my experiences and have even taken some days to really reflect on my appointment and how the day went.  It was so calm, so relaxing and reassuring.  I honestly have no negative comments to report.  There is nothing I wouldn't have changed about my experience and wish I could do it all over again.  Michelle was so honest and open, answered all of my questions, and was even present for any questions my mom had via Skype.  She ensured we all were involved and having it just be my Maid of Honor and I, made for such an intimate experience which I appreciated. Now, on to the things that made it extra special.  My bridesmaids will be in burgundy and Michelle brought over a burgundy dress on a mannequin to stand next to me in my dress.  It was so great o see the color next to mine and really made everything real.  What was also beyond touching was the bridal swag bag that was given to me at my appointment.  I won't reveal what's inside, but my goodness it made me feel like so much more than just a name in an appointment book. Lastly, was the personalized, handwritten thank you note I received from Michelle in the mail.  I will of course add this to my wedding scrapbook along with all the other memories I've gained through this experience. Coming from a bride who honestly thought I would have to pick a wedding dress simply because it fits and not because I love it, (lets face it, bridal has come a long way for plus size brides, but there is still a ways to go) this experience was more than what I could have ever asked for. I'd also like to add that this location is a wonderful spot for the budget conscious bride.  Their prices are amazing for what you receive, so please know that it is possible for you to find the dress of your dreams here.  Thank you Bridal Gallery and Michelle for making me feel so special.

I was sorry to see the old management go and learn they had fired all personnel, but I also understand that they had a different business plan, and sometimes this sort of thing is needed to make a fresh start with new policies. I've mostly been happy when consigning although sometimes the low price they place on a Pendleton or Clarks item I've consigned blows my mind and I try not to get upset. I've mostly been pretty satisfied with the amount of items they accept from me to consign (I'd say they accept at least 80% of what I've brought in), but the last time, I brought in over 30 items, most new but without tags, and they didn't accept one single item! One has to consider their current stock and think maybe they already have something like you brought in, and they didn't take? But I was bummed as I am an old lady and had to schlepp my stuff to my car from my apartment and then into the store, and then the reverse. I'm sorry to hear of the many complaints about employee attitudes here. That has not been my experience in the least! I'm always asked if I need assistance and they scramble to help me find things that are going past their consign-by date (when they would ordinarily go on sale or get donated), when I want to rescue something from them that I've consigned. I DO like to shop the discounted items in each section and appreciate how they put them on the end of each section, so I can walk down the main aisle and peruse them. These items (priced according to the current % off color that hangs from the ceiling) used to be sprinkled throughout the store and not kept together in each section, so for us bargain shoppers, this is a fantastic way to shop!
