Ernie, the owner of Straight Line, knows his stuff and I found him interesting to talk with about a subject I have very little knowledge of. The men who installed the roof after taking off the old one, did a fantastic job. They were efficient, conscientious and super clean. They spent from 7:30 til 5pm, non-stop and did it in a day. I would certainly recommend Straight line roofing if you are looking to have a job done right.

He showed interest in our project and went to our camp twice in order to begin planning and estimating the work. We committed to having him for our project in a July conversation and asked to be added to his calendar as soon as possible, hoping for October. At the end of August, he suddenly he stopped all communication. The last we heard from him was to say we'd have our estimate by the end of the week. That was 3 weeks ago. We've attempted to call multiple times, left messages, talked to his wife, heard one story from her along with multiple excuses. Once I finally spoke with Rocky, I asked him about the timeline, was met with one excuse after another and with an angry response "well, it won't be done this year". When a business owner projects their problems on potential customers, it becomes a recipe for disaster. He is unprofessional, inconsistent, a poor communicator, and it's probably time for him to retire.

He found that our main support beam was cracked and the cement supports were just sitting on the ground rather than buried past the frost line. We had a huge issue with the deck heaving in the winter. He said if he couldn't do it the right way and to code, he'd rather not get the job. We were impressed and are super glad we hired him. This deck turned out way better than we imagined and Rocky and his team of Justin and John exceeded all of our expectations. On time every day, questions answered almost immediately, and coming up with ideas that worked better than planned both esthetically and functionally. He is authentically old school--follows through, responds to customers' needs, and puts a bit of himself in every project. On our project, that included coming out in an unexpected and ice cold downpour to dig a ditch for drainage within a half hour of calling him. He came by almost daily to check on the work and once had the crew take down a days work and start over--not because it was wrong. Just because it could be even better. Seriously, who does that?! It also meant working covertly with a family member to find the perfect craftsman style front door as my Christmas gift and scheduling around me so it would be a surprise. He even came up with a door handle that a previous client had custom ordered and then decided against--just because he thought it would look really nice. Not sure which was better, the absolutely perfect surprise handle or the pride on his face when I said how much I love it. His crew are talented and hard working.
