My review of the "Service Department", Camper's Inn in Kingston NH, and it's not good. The Hirsch family founded Campers Inn RV after a poor experience at a dealership, where they felt they were treated poorly and believed they could do a better job. Well, it would appear they have come full circle. Their new motto, right from the service manager's mouth: "I don't care." and if you don't like that "I'll fire the customer." Chris was so proud of himself when he said that. I could tell it wasn't the first time he's felt the relief of firing the customer and not the first time a customer was fed up with their service department. Time is money. Our power supply (converter) died on the first trip out. Service dept was no help. They didn't know what is was or where it was even located. I diagnosed the problem and called service again to authorize an RV Tech. Upon my return service told me they would not cover the repair without the old converter. Brinkley to the rescue. One call to them and my check was in the mail. A week later I dropped off the camper to have a topper installed. I also gave them a list of warranty items that need repair. The topper was installed and they asked me to pick up the camper and pay the bill. I asked about the warranty items. All Set. Upon my arrival I specifically asked about the oven. (won't stay lit.) It's not on the work order. I reminded her of the list I gave her. Well, you signed the work order. The second time I'm blamed for their negligence. In actuality, they didn't fix anything on the list. In fact they had me changing USB ports and everything else on the list. They never did fix the oven and had no intention of doing so. Of the 6 minor warranty items I have had with this $100K camper, Camper's Inn fixed 0. When I told this to Chris the service manager he replied "At least you're handy." When I explained how many times I had brought the camper in for repairs his reply was "I don't care." This is the worst customer service department I have encountered since I can remember. In conclusion: I will never buy another thing at Camper's Inn. If you are thinking about buying a camper there, don't expect any service from the service department. But if you have to buy a camper there, buy a Brinkley. They know how to run a service department. Brinkley's motto is "I got you!" read more

ZERO if I could!! 2 experiences by our best friends. Can't make this stuff up but here it is: #1. 5 years ago they were told by the Kingston Camper's Inn salesman that their Dodge Ram 1500 could only pull a tent trailer, but not a camping trailer. Per his recommendation they purchased a used newer model Rockwood tent trailer. They brought it camping, the motor would not work!! Returned for service taking a few weeks. Motor changed out, but new motor extremely loud. Not a great tent trailer so time for a trade in/up!!! I had a fab experience at Forrest Marine & RV in Tyngsborough so they went there, unfortunately it was bought out by Camper's Inn...UGH!! So they gave Camper's Inn in Kingston another chance as it was closer than Tyngsborough. #2 They purchased a new travel trailer, based on a "knowledgeable" salesperson's recommendation. Picked up new camper & the molding was hanging off of the inside!! The salesperson said "that happens"! Anyway it was fixed. Radio was faulty, brought back for service, took several weeks to replace. New radio did not work either. Brought camper to be winterized & the coolant was never drained out of the tank so when hooked up the sewerage, it spilled all over the campsite! Service dept when asked, said that that's what they do (not empty tank...huh???). Service Dept performed an inspection upon request, inspection during dewinterization & found a roof leak, stated that leak was not under warranty, so they paid for roof to be sealed. New radio #2 installed & it still does not work!!! JUST AFTER roof sealed, there was a PUDDLE on a shelf going into a closet, so all of their clothes were wet! Not to mention, it looks like crap (see picture), no bead of sealant...just clumps! This is a year old camper that has already had a roof seal Just done. BTW, the way that the roof seal looks terrible & leaks! It should be noted that each time Camper's Inn service dept called, the tone of the service department was dismissive, condescending, and generally uncaring for what they were going through. There was never an apology. They did try to troubleshoot over the phone but again it was in a condescending, insulting manner. Now they have to call back about the new roof leak and to make an appointment for another new radio #3 to be installed while dealing with unprofessional treatment. read more

Mark, Sales Manager is great - we also worked with him on consigning our Class C motorhome. Josh - Service Manager helped us through some last minute snags with our hitch configuration; he jumped right in and made sure we were set up correctly. Robert, also in service, was excellent in talking us through our anxiety about towing such a large trailer for the firs time. Buy the camper, go to pick it up, nothing works right, told we could have someone else pick it up come to find out they cant. I have some mixed feelings now over this Campers Inn. We purchased a new camper here, and traded the older one, which we also purchased here. We feel that we got a good deal, they worked with us on price, on the trade, and so forth. What left me with a bad taste in my mouth was that when we returned the camper that we traded, which was after the paper work was all signed and legal. They quickly did an rush go through and said that it had some issues- water damage and it would cost us $1000 take it or leave it. Again this is after the paper work was all finalized. I felt this was unexpected and questionable legal. We settled at $500 but still do they do this with all buyers that trade in? read more

i have to tell you that the sale departmen was good. However, the service department is awful, I have had my unit for 2 years bought it brand new and It is finally fixed. I had to fix it myself because of the incompetent service department they have. The brand new unit was set up in their yard my wife and I went in for the demonstration walk through ,punch-list we pointed out problems signed the slip set up delivery. We were promised the items would be fixed ,guess what. they never fixed 1 thing on the camper. first night the brand new heater didn't work. it took over year to get my heater replaced. they never sealed the underbelly where the fresh water tank was and this year when I opened it up for the season I had Pex pipes eaten through from mice. . I would run away from that place before I would by another RV from them. I regret I did not push the lemon law on them for the heater or take them to court Bill C. read more

When going through the process to buy the camper, they had us come in to go over the finance paperwork, only to send us home because they were overbooked. We drove 45 minutes, for a scheduled appointment only to be told to come back the next day. They offered to reimburse us for gas but never followed through with the offer. Service is horrible. We bought a new camper van and went on vacation within a few days of pick up. We called them right before we left because we had a simple question on one of the buttons and they said they would get back to us. Sounded like we were bothering them and they never returned my call. Took the camper on vacation - the rear seating is not rideable. It rides as if there are no shocks in the rear. Any dip in the road will send you flying out of the seat. The seat belt helps to prevent you from hitting your head on the ceiling, but the seat belt will dig into you. Completely unrideable in the rear. While driving on the highway, the blind spot detection system disables on it's own. First time driving the vehicle we did not know what to do. After finding it in the manual, the passenger has to enable it when it goes off. If the driver is by himself, I don't think it would be safe to spend the time to go through the setting steps to reengage it. The navigation system is outdated. Brought us in the opposite direction of our phone navigation. We have to use our phone navigation as the navigation system in the van is not reliable. We called as soon as we got back to have the van serviced. No one will return our calls. Left a voicemail with the finance person, Andre, since he we happened to have his business card. The dealership phone rang without any voicemail to leave a message. Finally left a message with the manager at this location, and haven't heard back from him. Any one want a new camper van, only used once. We do not recommend this location at all. read more

Wow campers are flying off the lot. We could not find a used camper so decided to go w a 2021 tent trailer. From the moment we had contact w Campers Inn our interactions were promp and efficient. We had excellent customer service from touring campers to dealing w the business office. We could not be happier. We picked up our camper today which they were able to squeeze us into service so it would be ready ahead of time for our trip this weekend. On pickup you are given a tour and operation instruction of your camper. Bob Blair sold us the camper and another Bob instructed us on our camper. I seriously can't thank them enough. They have a great little store inside w camping equipment and you get 10% off. We also have free roadside assistance for one year. My whole experience 10/10!!!!! I was skeptical going here because of all the bad reviews. I decided to fill out a credit application online instead of going there because I hear they are so rude. I waited a week and no one would even call me back or email me back. Then I use the chat option on the website and somebody texted me saying I would be taken care of and soneone would be contacting me. Three weeks later and they could care less. Sucks for them because I was paying cash!! I was just checking my options with financing. Good thing I'm going somewhere else to buy a RV because I hear their service department is horrible also!! I asked the repair department to repair 3 items on our class B: Replace the refrigerator Find and repair an enormous LP leak. Replace the 12V battery disconnect switch. After 2 weeks, we were told that the refrigerator went down to 22 degrees and that no propane leak could be detected and that we should come to pick up the vehicle since they did not have enough room to keep it. I guess the first thing to do when testing for a propane leak is to ensure there is propane in the tank. We had lost the entire tank over a 1 1/2 day period while traveling. This ended up being a cracked regulator. So, the regulator and attached propane hose were replaced. After the propane tank was filled, the entire system was re-checked for leaks. I had requested that the refrigerator be replaced, not just temperature tested on AC overnight The refrigerator was another story and took around 2 months to get it installed and fully tested. Our old damaged front panel was installed on this new unit. Oh, you have to order the front panel separately! I guess no one had thought of that either! The hinges were also on the wrong side so I contacted Dometic to find the hinge reversal kit number. Later, I made two attempts to order the parts from the parts department. The first time, the manager was to call me back. I tried again in a week but had to leave a voice mail. No return call was received. The battery disconnect switch has an led that shows whether the switch is on. This did not work after switch replacement but we were so disgusted that we just wanted to leave after mentioning it to one of the managers. We did not pursue this. It had been 14 weeks and we just wanted to get away from this incompetence. Our Class B had been there so long that it required winterization. Also, after spending more than $6,000, an additional $600 had been accidentally added. This amount could not be accounted for so the charge was reversed. We finally got the van home into our garage. In the morning, the garage smelled of propane but there was NO way I would ever do business with these people again and was able to find someone who found other leaks and was able to replace the additional original LP hoses. Given the choice, I would suggest that you try elsewhere. Since my experience here, I have since discovered that things go smoothly if the unit you buy there is under warranty but it's especially difficult to even get a return call for an out of warranty repair request. read more

Tony the sales man explained all the payment options, Andre in finance explained all the financing and Nick did an awesome job with the walk through. Showed me everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. The sales people are great, the service department and then management are the reason to never go here. We bought a camper from them and it need a few things. They have $1000 prep charge they add on when you buy it but whatever they said they would go through it, clean and make sure everything works. So they needed to order an awning that took weeks, then when cleaning they broke a window, that took weeks and when we called for an update they say, we thought you took it home. After a few more weeks we go get the camper and get home and notice both tanks are still full, grey and sewer. WTF if there was anything we could do to stop others from ever going here we would. read more

We purchased a 40' camper several years ago. Bought the extended warranty. We had numerous issues when it was delivered to our campground down the Cape. The drop off person made a list of everything that needed to be corrected. He also took pictures of everything. We tried for a couple years to get somebody down there to repair the problems it never happened all his notes and all his pictures mysteriously disappeared and a few years later we still have all the same issues. We also purchased an extended counter that we never received. We paid extra for it but...we are so far away for them to send it to us. Putting that aside. This year I have been calling them for over 3 months to send someone to fix our heater. Still has not happened. Their excuse is they don't have any repair man going to that area. We spent thousands of dollars on this camper and they have not sent out a repair man even though it's under warranty. Still waiting. read more

I'm beyond sad to have to write this but the service I've received working with them is atrocious and at this point I have to move on. We bought our camper here about 15 months ago and the sales process was great but service is a NIGHTMARE! We dropped off the camper in October to be winterized, fix some broke interior lights and remove a bunk. We heard nothing for months and when we reached out in January they asked what lights we wanted, as if they didn't have the work order that we'd done where we picked out lights. When we finally picked it up in February, after 5 months they didn't fix one of the lights, even though it had yellow tape on it. The inside was extremely dirty as if they wore mud boots in. After a thorough review they also did work we didn't ask for and didn't need (cut the plywood under a bed for storage access). We also had received a recall from KZ for the fire extinguisher so when we picked up our the camper we dropped it off and they said they'd send it in for the replacement. When we called two weeks before a big spring trip they said we had to do the exchange ourselves with KZ even though they had the extinguisher. They also told us they were super booked and wouldn't be able to replace the light we already paid for until later this summer. We are on the hunt for a new service department. Such a shame because of the convenient location and great/friendly sales department. But the lack of follow through and return calls make it seem like they're doing us a favor when we've paid through the nose for service. read more

Reserved a service a month in advance for a oil change and a sticker. I brought it in on the day of the service date. Call later the day and to my surprise they said it may take up to 3 days to do the work. This is the second time the service department screwed me. I went and pulled my camper out of there. RUN AWAY!! IF THERE WAS A CHOICE FOR ZERO THAT IS WHAT I WOULD GIVE. I bought a tow behind camper here 2 seasons ago. I am STILL trying to get them to remedy a situation that I pointed out before I took possession. I noticed that the floor had a soft spot. I pointed it out to the sales person. He LIED to me and told me the floor had to have give for the slide to work properly. I mentioned it to the finance person when he told me that there is no warranty on a pre-owned vehicle. I was told to let the sales person know. I did a second time. He told me he would tell the service department. Upon pick up, I asked the person who walked me through the RV if it was addressed. He said yes, its fine. There is no soft spot. I purchased this in November. Come Christmas time when I was showing the camper to my family, I walked in and heard the crunch of ice under the "fine" floor. I called as soon as they opened after the holiday. They asked me to bring it in in March (too much snow). I brought it in and told them I had reservations for opening weekend April 15. I called a week later for status, it hadn't been looked at yet. Reiterated my April reservation. Was asked if I let anyone know that. Told them yes, in my first phone call. Called one week later again. EXACT SAME CONVERSATION. Told that I did not need to call anymore, they would call me back. Finally called 2 days before my reservation. Still not even looked at. At this point I contacted Campers Inn "We Care" corporate offices. Spoiler alert, they DON'T CARE. The only thing they do is bring the problem to the attention of the GM, and reassure that any problem will be rectified. Kingston brought it in to look the minor things they noticed before pick up (cracked glass and lights not working) and order those parts. I took it to use for the season without the floor being looked at. Asked if I could bring it to Raynham location, as its much closer to home, at the end of the season. Made an appointment in Raynham. Brought it in. After many months of miscommunication, and me having to act as the liaison between the locations, Raynham informed me that the problem extends beyond just the original spot and they were waiting for direction from Kingston NH. Again, the camping season started, I took my camper back with the problem. Kingston finally contacted me and told me they would come to my home after the season, pick up my camper and fix it. I received an email from them 2 days ago asking when they could pick up to fix the soft spot right near the door. I explained it was ready for pick up any time, and that I wanted to make sure ALL of the water damage was repaired. I don't want mold growing under my camper. Chris Roy informed me that water damage was not an issue when I took ownership, that MY leak of the slide is what caused the water damage. I explained that it was a problem then, that any leak was what Raynham speculated may have happened with the previous owner as the seal around the slide was brand new. That corporate assured me that my issues would be taken care of. Now he is consulting with the GM to see if they will fix the problem that they would have seen had they just checked the floor before pick up like I asked. The most embarrassing part is that my brother in law warned about them. I didn't heed his advice. I should have. Learn from my mistakes. Don't make expensive mistakes of your own. When you pay that much for a camper, you expect that the company will address concerns. read more

We purchased a new travel trailer in January 2018, after a trip to Florida we had a list of issues (mostly minor). We made an appointment with the se rvice department and brought it in on April 6 th. Despite repeated calls and requests as of 5/31 /18. They still have it and it is not fixed. Their solution "you can pick it up and use it while we wait for parts. Warranty approval, etc. So our brand new trailer has not been fixed after 8 weeks. Stay away from Campers Inn, once they have our money they have no interest in customer satisfaction. read more

This all started with a call to Campers Inn on 5/4 when I spoke with Shelly in Service and explained the two things we needed replaced (awning and toilet), and our furnace that we wanted to be looked at. I explained our concern for 4th of July and that we desperately needed our camper back prior because we had a trip planned to Maine for an extended 4th of July weekend. She suggested a drop off on 5/26 and "we'd definitely have it back before our trip" so we dropped our camper off on 5/26 for service. We were told they would have it for at least 2 weeks. We called on 6/9 (15 days after drop off) and they said no one had looked at it yet. I called the "we care" hotline on 6/14 and someone called right back and said they would order the fabric for the awning immediately and it should be in within 3-5 days but they had an awning motor and toilet in stock. I called for an update on 6/23 and again no one had looked at our camper. It is now 6/24 and I was told the fabric was "probably on back order" when they ordered it on 6/14 but he never offered to call the fabric company to ask where it was or when it would be in. Meanwhile my camper is sitting there and we can't use it during prime camping season. What a waste. We have reservations from 6/30-7/6 in Maine (we also have a high school grad party for my daughter scheduled there) and our spot is paid for and the hall is reserved for the party and now I'm worried that we won't make that trip because our camper is still at Campers Inn just as it was when we dropped it off 29 days ago. I tried calling the "we care" hotline all day today (6/24) and no one answered. I left a message and as usual no one returned my call. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! I have had my camper there for 2 months. They finally looked at it and ordered the parts and they came in. I was told it was next in line to be worked on. 2 weeks later they still have not started on it. They now have lost the work order. No apology and I still do not have a date it will be completed. We love our little 25' travel trailer, however the window gasket was split, plate cover broken, slide off balance and wood was cracked from broken slide. I have left my trailer on THREE occasions for more than a month. First with Service Manger Mike and did NOTHING, second promised and NOTHING, now with new MANAGEMENT and I am 5 weeks in trying to get it fixed AGAIN. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE! I didn't even want to give Campers Inn, Kingston NH, any stars because our experience over the past three years has been deplorable. When we traded in our Forest River pop up and bought a brand new Forest River Roo Hybrid the sales experience was excellent. However, it ends there. Customer Service is the worst, and consistently the most horrible customer service I've experienced in my 61 years. Poor communication, or rather lack of communication. Unreturned phone inquiries. Lack of follow up. Shoddy work, or lack of, that they take no responsibility for. Chris, the Service Manager, is unprofessional and changes the story. Russell, the Gen Manager, just hands it off to Chris. Most recently, holes in our screens that occurred while the camper was in their possession for 6 (unnecessary!) months, and which we asked for them to repair, was "repaired" with black duck tape without our knowledge until it was home. Black duck tape was also used to "repair" the piece of canvas coming away from the wall which the camper initially went in for last October. Chris blatantly lied and said the canvas was torn, even though it is not. We are reporting Campers Inn, Kingston NH, to the BBB and AG's office.
