Travelled up from Franklin GA to see about getting a class c rv. Toured with my wife and then Butch Fairfield, our salesperson let us just wonder around looking. We fell in love with a class c rv bunk beds. Wow!! Butch Fairfield was great, no pressure to purchase. They even cooked/grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings. Bait-and-switch scheme... Drove two hours for an appointment to view and purchase a 'specific' model. Called before making the appointment to ensure the rv was there and available. Was told yes. Called again halfway to the dealership to make sure the rv was still available; Was told 'yes'. Got there, the salesman that was assigned to us was not the person I talked to over the phone, but whatever... He immediately starts talking about all the different similar models they have. I say, "no thanks, I'm only interested in the one I have the appointment for." He asks if we want to start running numbers. I ask to see the rv. He says, "let me go see if it's actually available." Uhhhh, what?! He comes back and says that one was sold, but that they have others like it, or can get one in 2 days. Keep in mind, I made an APPOINTMENT! Walked out and I won't be back. Follow up review of Gander rv of Oxford. Since the first review we we're called by Greg the G.Manager. He asked what had happened and how could he resolve the problem. We explained the rv was defective from the manufacturer and rude treatment we received frm the sales mgr. He has since taken the rv in trade and made a very good deal for us on another rv. Good enough for us to come back and give them 1 last try which is a lot. Greg made a terrible experience tolerable. The sales mgr Danny needs to learn the 2 rules of Customer Service. #1 The customer is always right...#2 When they are not right refer back to rule #1!! Don't waste your time. I responded to an ad on Facebook marketplace. First of all the model advertised in that ad they didn't have. The salesman refused to give me a price. Wanted a debit card number to charge $2000.00 on if they accepted my offer. I live 6 hours away. The guy told me the camper was great no issues. He kept refusing to give me a bottom line out the door price. I am a cash buyer so not like I'm in a rush to purchase or have limited options. Tried every sales tactic, like oh you better hurry this one is great someone wants to buy it blah blah. I show up to look at it after making the 6 hour trip. The salesman I was dealing with was helping someone else so a much nicer guy took me to the camper but I felt bad wasting his time, since the guy I was working with was helping another customer (I felt like he was just blowing it off on someone else who would not make any commission for helping me). I look at the camper it's has a badly scraped up fender, and has mold under the bed. So it wasn't in the stated condition and they didn't share the damage. Then to boot he got cocky with us when I told him I had my concerns about the mold. The unit was a 2018 nucamp t@g I have seen several and none with mold like that. He asked if they cleaned it up if I would be happy and want to purchase it. I said well I don't know you never gave me a price. He still refused to give me a price. We drove 6 hours we messaged back and forth for a couple weeks here I am in front of them considering if I will buy it and he still won't give me price!! Needless to say I just got up and left and drove home another 6 hours. I think maybe if I had a different salesman things could have gone better because the girls at the desk were nice, Mark was nice. But maybe not because two other people in the sales are were angry and had the same issue. I should have known better when he wanted my debit card before I even saw it. read more

Went to see a used camper, the floor was wet and smelt of mildew in the closets, looked at some others and they tried to sell us a used Coleman for about 23000, I did a little research and found ones that were brand new for the same and better prices. (We had ask them about new ones in the same price range and they said yes but a good bit smaller so we left to go check some other places and that's when my research paid off) If you go here make sure you do your research. read more

Be careful about hidden cost on service. Was told what the cost was from a sheet the service people look at and was told on one of them since I was having two done i would get half off the other. Had a lot of extra cost added on for shop supplies etc. And bill was several $100 over what it was and when I asked about the half off they said it was for labor. When asked about what I was told about the sheet and the cost for the work they tried to make like that's not what I was told and the cost didn't cover shop supplies. Finally talked to the General Manager and he was rude and acted like it was my problem. Finally gave me a gift certificate. Will spend it of course but they will not do any work on my Rv again. We have tried numerous times to call to get work done but Sales Rep and Store Manager will not take or return our calls! After owning our travel trailer for two weeks it rained and it leaked. Went back and they wanted to charge me $190 to do a water test. Had videos of the leak but that wasn't enough proof that it was leaking. They were wanting to do a fifteen minute water test. I would have thought a two week old camper would have had a warranty on it. I took it across town to Alexandria RV and they repaired it. Cost me three hundred dollars but I was very happy with their work. They were very professional and did a very nice job. Looked as if someone had already tried to do some work on it. Very poor workmanship. I will never go back to camping world. And I will never pay them a penny to do warranty work. read more

Buyers Beware!! Purchased a brand new 2018 keystone Sprinter. Our first camping trip happened within 2 months of purchase. Found we could not flush our tanks due to a kink in the hose located in the wall. Our master bedroom door would not latch shut, our quick connect for water hose wasn't quick nor would it connect. Dropped off camper from repairs on our way back from our camping trip. We asked them to install a second battery that we purchased from them and paid the labor for the installation in addition to all the repairs needed. Several weeks later and 5 days before our next camping trip we get the call saying it's ready to pick up. We bring it home and we first open the slide out to see if door latch was fixed. It was obvious it was not when it jammed in between itself and the slide out snapping off trim and damaging around the door knob. We opened the bathroom door and on the floor we found the panels off from under the shower and the screws laying on the floor. At this point we are not sure if the crimped hose was fixed due to the fact that the work wasn't complete by attaching panels back on. The quick connect part for the hose was fixed. We went to check the second battery and there it sat next to the original one but never installed. Spoke to asst service manager and I would have received better response from a corpse in a mortuary. I thenspoke with the assistant GM Greg on the phone. He assured me he would run this all by the GM that evening and get back with me Monday. It has been 3 Monday's now and still no response. Our camper has been at this facility for 4 months now. We had a tree fall on our 2017 Keystone Sprinter and it suffered a lot of damage. The insurance company recommended we get repairs done here. I wish I had never taken the camper (that we purchased at Camping World of Oxford) back there for repairs. The collision department is ran by Alaric and he does not know how a phone works because he will never return my phone calls. The General Manager Greg Robinson also does not know how a phone works because he too does not return phone calls. I am disgusted with the lack of professionalism that these people operate their business. I will never speak a kind word about Camping World ever again. read more

I wish me and my wife had never went to this place. We bought a camper here last summer but due to medical reasons did not have a chance to take it out but twice each time have problems from water leaks to TV's not working to refrigerator not working . We took the camper in June they had it for over three weeks and did not even look at it. Tooh it back to them July 10th and here we are today at October 4th and still have not got the camper back have received multi phone calls from them ask him if we have pick the camper up . I tell them they still have it. Then they start telling me what they have fixed and start going down the list . But it's all the things I my self fixed. So what too do. They have had our camper for almost 5 months now . when you're there looking to buy their all attended but once you buy your more or less on your own after that stay away people stay far far away. read more

Very rude salesperson. I went with my son to purchase him a camper for work, because he travels a lot do to his work. Needless to say we drove 2 vehicles for 2 hours wasn't even in there 5 minutes and the salesperson said there was nothing they could do with his trade in after talking on the phone with a sales rep saying they take his trade to make a sale! This was the worst buying experience my husband and I have ever had in trying to purchase something. After reaching a price deal and receiving the dealer sheet we were contacted by their finance dept. NEVER was it mentioned or did we agree to finance with the dealership. When they found out that we had an excellent interest rate with our credit union they said our deal was only contingent on financing with them. We were unable to get a sales manager to return our call for a day and a half. Finally reached the general manager that tried to convince us that financing with them for a longer term but by making double monthly payments would be half the interest rate we would be financing for. Do they really think that we can't use an amortization calculator online. That was the final straw and we changed dealerships. I hope this helps someone in finding a trustworthy dealership. I don't know how this could not be illegal. I have worked in the public for 29 years plus my husband and I own two businesses. Went to get a camper, we already had the one picked out that we liked and had the funding in place. Everything was fine, the facility was fine. The salesman, was not fine. He asked me, when my husband walked away if I thought my marriage was going to last because of our 12 year age difference? Seemed like he was making a pass at me, why else would a stranger care if your marriage was going to last. Extremely awkward, rude and very unprofessional. We were looking to purchase a Montana High Country, and this dealer was the closest to our Georgia location that had it in stock. On the website it had a box "Click to unlock Oxford Pricing", so I did. It was around $1500. less than listed. Thankfully, I took a screen shot of it because the salesman had no idea what I was talking about. He had to take my phone to show the finance people. When he asked what it would take to get me to purchase, I said "get the price under $50K" - because he said if it were over $50K the bank required 10% down. I was able to find 6 other CW within 200 miles of us with the exact same camper for $49,989. They actually honored that price, but still had to have the 10% down, which we did not want to do. We spent about 6 hours that day just trying to get things right. When we went to pick up the camper, they found that they had ordered the wrong 5th wheel hitch. So my husband had to take another day off from work to travel to Alabama to pick up the unit. I was concerned with the taxes since we were purchasing in AL and live in GA. The finance people assured us that they would make sure it was all paid to GA. Not to worry. Well, the Coweta Tax Assessor's office called and told us that CW did Not send the correct amount and we owed more. They even said that 9 out of 10 times, in their dealings, CW of Oxford got the taxes wrong. We were very leery about purchasing from this dealer due to the negative reviews. Lesson learned. We purchased a Montano fifth wheel in June 2017. We used it a total of four times. On our fourth trip, during the fourth of July week, when the weather is extremely hot, the living area air was not working. We had a week planned with a large number of family members, and did not want to leave them. We were forced to stay in the bedroom during the day, with the door closed, because there was a second unit for it. Finally, we couldn't take it any longer and left early. We immediately took our camper back to Camping World. It has been sitting there three weeks while they determine if the manufacture or they will pay for the unit. We can't even get anyone to call us back about this. We have three friends that told us recently that the service dept is the reason they didn't purchase anymore campers from CW in Oxford. If this matter isn't resolved soon, we WILL NOT either. read more

Let me first say if you are in the market for a new camper I would strongly reconsider shopping here. I had heard horror stories about this dealer but thought we'd give them a look anyway. A salesperson takes us and shows us numerous campers and we find one we like. He tells us our payment would be between $200-$250 per month. We go inside and all of a sudden they have added $4000 worth of junk fees to the price. They quote us a payment of $340 per month. We stated we didn't want to go over $250. The salesperson goes back and forth with the manager and states $272 is the best the can do. We look at a cheaper camper and they claim that would get our payment to $250. This was on a Sunday. I wasn't going to get to come with my husband to sign paperwork so on Tuesday I ask them to send me a sales contract with something showing the purchase price, terms of the loan, and how much we would be financing. Their finance person was extremely rude and stated they couldn't send that information out. My husband called to let him know how he felt about his rudeness and he hung up on him. He told me he didn't care if we bought the camper or not. A friend referred us to Campers Unlimited and they've been truly amazing. We got a nicer camper comparable to the first camper looked at Gander that they were quoting us a payment of $340 for $179 a month. The price on their website is the actual price you pay without $4000 worth of fees. We also got a free TV, battery, propane tanks, and anti sway bars at no charge. I was looking for a camper I could use for a year or so,until I could get exactly what I wanted. Camping World of Oxford had a '94 24 foot. I offered $2500, but manager refused to take less than $3500. He said they would make sure everything worked properly. They connected the camper to power and water. After checking everything, the manager said everything was in good condition, except the water heater worked fine on gas, but did not work on electric. I was OK with this. After I got home, I got on my computer and checked price's on NADA. Clean retail was $2500 on this unit. The camper refridgerator had been replaced with a cheap electric refridgerator, which worked for one trip before quiting. The oven would not light, and there was a water leak under the sink. This camper would not have passed for "clean retail". I wound up with over $4000 in the camper just to get it usable, and still did not have an oven. My husband and I bought a work and play from them The salesman was great but did not back up what he sold. We bought a new camper and took it from lot to camp site. Had a few issues with camper while camping, which was under warranty. So we were camping in Gadsden and decided to drop it back to them to fix issues on our way home to . Tuscaloosa. Expecting to be a quick turn around . OH NO!!! They told us they were behind on service about 6 yo 8 week. Our response was we bought it brand new from you. Make long story short they had it a month while we are paying monthly payment and insurance A brand new RV off their lot and we had to way due to service volume. Oh No service department is a nightmare. Never called you back Never!! also the manger did not either. The salesman tried to help but we were told had to go through service dept and etc. The camper is great. But think twice about buying with them. Long term if you need service forget it. What an absolute piece of crap company - not just this CW but all of CWs. My experience at purchase and since have been absolutely horrible. The Customer Service is non-existent. I have posted complaints and have had no responses. This CW actually prepped the wrong Travel Trailer for us. We spent 6 hours just trying to leave with our camper on the day of pickup. We had to re-accomplish the sales paperwork 6 times because the wrong camper was prepped. Since the purchase, the Safe-Guard Tire and Wheel Insurance and the GAP insurance have been unresponsive. Just try to file a tire claim...BS! I have since tried to cancel the policies and have not been able to make any contact to do so. I have tried to follow their rules to submit a claim, and to cancel the policies....no go. Safe Guard is owned by CW and both absolutely suck. In my opinion, no one should ever do business with Camping World and most definitely never, ever purchase any insurance products through them. read more
