Would never recommend for service. we live in our 5th-wheel 7 months out of the year. last year it was in a wind storm and the roof was totaled.... but in all honesty, the roof looks better totaled than it did after it was fixed. I wish I could post pictures. My 13 year old could have done a better job. When my husband said, " I'm not taking that home", they said " it doesn't look great, but it's functional". I sent pictures to our insurance agent and they told us not to leave with the camper like that. The customer service was terrible, the work was terrible... And the best part, when my husband went to pay... the lady behind the desk says "ohhh we've heard about you"!! Do not ruin six months of your life trying to get your home fixed like I did!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CAMPING WORLD of Wichita, KS I purchased a brand-new Forest River Tandara 5th wheel camper in September 2025. Before we picked it up we made it clear that it needed to be ready to go because we were going to use it the day we got it. The first time we used it the following happened: 1. Cabinet doors fell off 2. The bathroom faucet was shooting water straight up 3. The bedroom door handle was loose and wouldn't latch 4. The stairs to the outside were installed such that we couldn't close the door-we ended up taking it off and just leaning it against the opening when we needed to use it. 5. The panel to see what the gray and black water tank levels are only works intermittently for the black water tank. 6. The heat was only blowing into the rear bunk room and the front bedroom. I called CW to express my unhappiness with this POS camper. They said "well when it's first pulled it will flex a bit and these issues can arise" They tried to say that for every issue above. We made an appointment to take it to the service department to fix. We weren't able to get it back to the service department until Jan. 13th 2026. After we took it in for service we were told that since it was cold they would have to winterize it while it was there and I would have to pay $199 to have that done. When I called BS and stated I was NOT paying for that when it was their fault none of this was caught before we took it. They said well we can't guarantee it won't freeze, when I asked to speak the supervisor's supervisor he said it wouldn't do any good because it was Forest River's policy and not theirs. Way to back up what you sell CW...great customer service. We wanted to get our camper in and out in one day to avoid the winterization issue however when they looked into the heat problem they discovered the duct work was torn in one area and crushed in 2 other areas. Of course they didn't have the needed duct parts and would have to order it from Forest River and it should be in on Tuesday 1/20/26 BUT the technician working on it might be working on another camper so we might have to wait. When I asked why they couldn't have another technician work on it they gave me some BS answer about the technician doing all the work to tear it down wouldn't get paid for the work if someone else completes it. Seriously?? Your pay structure is not my problem. We were also told that Forest River would not fix the black water tank issue unless the entire panel stopped working. We MIGHT be able to pick it up Thursday 1/22/26 or Friday 1/23/26 again that is IF the technician can work on it. To say we were super disappointed at the way they handled this is an understatement. Spend 4k on a boat motor and get an email saying it's shipped. Problem is they lie and say there's not info like a tracking number till it's moved along in the shipping. Thats a lie cause anyone who's ever shipped something knows tracking is provided the moment it's shipped. This is a terrible company to deal with once they have your money. It's a really bad company when there is multiple social media groups made just to let people know how bad they are. I have been working with a very nice and respectful salesperson named Eddie for MONTHS. He was patient and I very easy to work with. After going to a trade show I saw a camper I liked more, but it was just above my credit union's approval. This was on a Sunday so I was super excited. I looked up the RV I saw at the trade show and it was at Camping World in Wichita. (HURRAY) The issue came when I went to their website to prequalify. I filled out their online credit application only to be told someone would reach out. I called my salesperson (on his day off). He called me back saying I had to come in and decide what vehicle I wanted before they could qualify me for anything. This defeats the purpose......... I was a loan officer for years. I know how a prequalification/preapproval work. They were using the process as a sales tactic to get me in the store and waste hours of my time. This conversation gave me ZERO confidence that I would be receiving the best service. Not to mention the attitude from a woman with loan department when I questioned the ethics of this and said I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Needless to say I WONT be using CW to purchase my trailer. read more

Last month we purchased a slightly used (2024 & less than 4,000 mile) Class C from Camping World in Denver. We were driving it back to our home in Missouri, when my husband noticed the slide inching out while we were driving down I-70. We pulled over at a rest area, extended the slide and retracted it, and started back down the road. It continued to open up as we drove and we had to pull over multiple times to open it and close it. We were going through Wichita (in the rain) and contacted Camping World there. They said to bring it in. Matt & his maintenance crew saw us as soon as we pulled in. They were able to temporarily fix the issue within 30 minutes so we could be on our way. They were courteous and knowledgeable and knew what to look for. They recommended we have our local Camping World look at the footings when we get back. We are so appreciative of the immediate service and help Matt & his team provided when we were in need. read more

I hate giving negative reviews but this one I can't help with. When we arrived the gentleman who was supposed to greet us was on his phone and didn't acknowledge us until we said hi. He (Mark) continued to be on his phone through our tour with which we had to walk around to find someone to help us. I was not impressed with the service as it seemed they truly just wanted the sale, they didn't actually care about you or your needs. While touring a few trailers, the gentleman lit a cigarette right next to us and mentioned how he and many other workers would just hide in rvs and "take a little nap here and there". I don't care what you do at work as long as customers or myself can't see your unprofessional behavior. Not to mention the RVs weren't clean nor show-worthy. I would've loved to give more stars. Gave two starts since they did in fact have a lot of inventory but the service and state of the store was subpar. It's unfortunate y'all advertise being "the best and biggest around" and yet you showed no effort in caring about your job or the company. When you go to buy an RV from this dealer you can clearly see that all of the salespeople have a quota board on a flat screen tv. I felt like they were rushing to sell me a RV. I put down a deposit on a rainy day, my mistake. The manager was rushing to get my information to approve me for financing. The entire time that I was there I felt rushed. I came back a week later with my fiancé and when we got a good look around we noticed several things wrong. There was water damage underneath the shower. The slide had been taped, clearly keeping it from leaking. The salesperson told me that there had been a leak that was previously fixed, but after taking a good look around it was clear that "fixed" meant taped together. Needless to say, i got my deposit back and checked out other dealers. If I were you, I'd check out Wichita RV East. They were amazing for us! read more

Side door lock did work the first day before we pick it up . you fix it so you said .driving down the road said door came open. all most lost my dogs .you have fixed the stripes 4 times and still pealing .battery problems on a new unit said you would replace them and fix the lock in feb 2021 brought it in you kept it till June. called me up said warranty is up from setting on you lot come pick it up you were parking it out front you were done with it .and you wont me to bring it back to you .NOT TILL HELL Freezes over. read more

He was our sales guy and he spent the better part of a Saturday morning showing my wife and I everything we wanted to see... and it was a lot! He was very knowledgeable and devoted his entire morning to us when the store was full of other potential buyers. He would give us our privacy when we needed it and use that time to help others. My wife and I bought a camper mid July 2021 from Camping World. This is our first camper and we bought and it and got extended warranty coverge. It's a 2019 Grand Design Imagine 17MKE. It is slightly used but still fairly new. We used it the rest of the summer a handful of times around Wichita and down to Grand Lake Ok. Right before Labor Day weekend we got home from Grand Lake and the refrigerator wouldn't turn on. I called to Gander RV in Wichita shortly after that weekend and scheduled an appointment for service. They were booked out until Oct. 3rd. We used one more time going to a Kstate game without a working fridge. Then the toilet pedal broke on that excursion. We finally got our camper to Gander for service. I was greeted with an hour long wait to talk to Jimmy (their main service rep). While I waited another guy James helped me with taking notes. It was James's first day. He did not yet have computer access. No problem, I was patient. Got to Jimmy and told him all the problems that needed fixed. I was told it may be a few weeks until it was fixed because of diagnosis and ordering needed parts. I tried to provide our warranty info then but it was not necessary, they would get it when they needed it. Okay! I also wanted to leave the camper keys and have another copy made for the main camper door. They would not take them for fear of losing them. Jimmy told me to bring them back when I picked up after the fix. Their guy who makes keys wasn't in at that time. Okay.....no problem! Fast forward 3 weeks and no calls and no updates. I call the store and leave abmessage with someone to call me and let me know how it was going. No one calls. I wait a few days and call again. Can't get anyone in service. There is no direct line. Another day and call again. This time a woman tells me that my camper can't get fixed right away and needs to be picked up as it is taking up space on their lot. I ask nicely to just leave it there until it's fixed and got some argument. I asked to speak to Jimmy and she puts him on the phone. Jimmy tells me finally what is wrong with my camper and that they are still waiting on an answer from warranty. We paid good money for a Good Sam warranty, so I'm a little confused that this is such a struggle. Jimmy then tells me that it will be $20 per day storage fee to keep it there. I was quite pissed at this point. Jimmy then tells me I'm the guy that calls everyday (rather rudely) and they are doing what they can. I never called everyday and actually at this point I think it may have been call No. 5. This was the first time I had talked to Jimmy on the phone. I told Jimmy that I didnt appreciate his tone, and then asked if this was normal for people like me to get asked to pickup their unfixed camper because it was taking up space on their "full" lot. He argued and explained that this was such a long process and I would still be subject to a $20 per day fee. He then hangs up on me. After that, I called his store manager and apologized to on the phone. She said a sit-down was gonna happen with Jimmy. I was then told that his direct service manager would be calling. TJ was his name and I got his direct cell number. He apologized and told me they would have a meeting with Jimmy. TJ was gonna see what he could find out on our warranty paying for the fixes. A few days go by and I hear nothing from TJ. I call and he is still figuring out this warranty stuff. I ask about the weather getting cold and the camper not being winterized. TJ calls someone in the background and tells them to drain the water out of our camper. Most people would think that this question would have been asked at the get-go.....not this place I guess. Another week goes by and I learn Jimmy has most likely been fired and TJ is at home with Covid. No problem! It's 2021. It's now getting into late November (7 weeks) and my camper is still not fixed. I can't get a straight answer from anyone at this store and they don't have a service manager. TJ took a better paying job. No one calls back if I ask about the warranty coverage. They just don't have answers and will try to call back. read more

Back in October my husband and I went looking to purchase a camper. The first sales man we talked to, we thought was very nice, but then realized he was talking out his rear. He made sure he pointed out that it was closing time for the sales floor, and he also told me that he knew my budget just off of the first camper I looked at. No offense but just because I look at a less expensive camper doesn't mean my budget is low. We went back the next day to look at one of the campers again, that we liked the first day. We got to deal with a different sales guy that was fantastic. We went in to start the paperwork for financing, just to start the PIA it was. At first the numbers didn't match up at all with that the price of the camper was. It took me pulling it up online to prove to the finance guy what the price was listed at. I mentioned multiple times that I owned my own company, and that I knew it would make a difference when it came to financing. We also made it a point we didn't want out credit ran multiple times, making us get multiple hits on out credit reports. We were strongly assured we would only see one hit on out credit report..........LIES! We got six dings on our reports. We filled out the paper work, gave our deposit and left the store. We got called three days later saying I needed to submit three months of pay proof for me and my husband, and my last two years of taxes. We live 3.5hrs away. We were really upset about getting told this three days after doing all the paperwork. After telling them we were backing out of the deal, it took them three months to get my deposit returned to me. I do have to say they were trying every tactic possible to make that sale happen. After reading other reviews and hearing what others deal with when buying a camper from here, they will never get my business again. read more

Bought a new to us camper last week. Our sales woman Jennifer was amazing. She wasn't your typical pushy salesperson. She allowed us our privacy when we needed. She showed us campers for 2 full days, stayed after closing awnsering our questions. As we were doing our paperwork, she helped my brother in law unload all the stuff out of our trade in and moved it into the new camper. By the time it was done on a Monday, the service department was closed. Went to move the slides out to rearrange some items, and boom, no power. There were a few members in the service department still (after hours I mind] they came out with some diagnostic tools, located the issue- broken battery disconnect- left to head to the main store, brought one back and got us back up and functioning. I have read the bad reviews, but I personally had a great experience all around, starting at Jennifer and ending with Pat and his team at the Service Department. read more

My husband and I had high hopes from this establishment and purchased a camper that we viewed at an RV Show in Wichita. We purchased a brand new, 2020 Forest River travel trailer in February. We are beyond disappointed with Gander and Forest River due to the customer service, warranty work, and many more aspects. Do not purchase here. We are "Good Sam" members, which apparently does not mean anything when getting your camper serviced. Every visit to the service center takes 1 to 4 hours (not getting anything worked on, just finding someone to help you). They never can find us in their computer system. This system is inadequate, extremely slow, and no one seems to be able to update anything. Gander seems to have a high employee turn-over (which indicates something is wrong) and no one knows enough to get anything done. The latest "service adventure" began when we made an appointment. We called on August 13th, and the soonest they could get us in was September 8th. They have now had the camper for 5 weeks going on 6. They adjusted the slide, but are "waiting" on warranty work approval through Forest River for a rubber seal that goes on the side of our slide. This should not be a repair that takes this long to finish. We have had to cancel 2 camping trips due to their negligence. The first was due to a miscommunication between employees. One gentleman is an amazing worker, and took care of us well. He asked to have another gentleman write up a work order. It took an hour just to find him (other employees using walkies, looking through the service center). He told us it would take so long to fix that we were forced to cancel our reservations. Long story short, we got the camper back the next day... lost our money (over $200) on our reservations due to the short notice cancelation. Our second trip that we had to cancel is due to having the camper in the shop for more than 5 weeks. We like the camper. It serves our needs. We need a company that can do the service/warranty work that was advertised when we bought it. We would like to go camping. We do not enjoy spending 4 hours at a time waiting in the service department just to get a work order. We couldn't even get a person on the phone all morning today. We are not new to camping. This is the 5th camper that we have owned. We know what to look for when purchasing an RV and getting it serviced including warranty work. This is by far our worst experience with an RV dealership. read more

Worst experience I ever had. First they leave us just sitting with no one telling us what is going on with purchasing a new camper. Then the salesman just walks away when they got the money. Finally another guy takes us back to do a walk through. He just walks away. Nothing said. After walkthrough we stand around for another 45 minutes for it to be pulled out of service bay. Still no one comes out. We just hooked up and left with camper after they failed to do the proper inspections. Come to find out a lot of things wrong with camper. Service department takes back in and they refuse to call the customer about what is going on. 2 days on lake. @ and a half weeks sitting in their shop with no communication unless calling corporate office. But guess what they are not much better. They want your money then they are done with you. read more

I scheduled a drop off appointment for service for my camper for a couple items that needed repaired on April 23rd, 2021. After showing the "tech" Matt the issues, he said within a week or so it would be in the bay and service should only take 1 1/2 or 2 hours to perform. Absolutely no problem with that. 3 1/2 weeks later, after multiple phone calls and leaving my name and number, with no return calls.. I finally got ahold of Matt just for him to tell me that my camper is still sitting outside and hasn't even been looked at yet. He then tells me that he'll "push it through" and make sure it gets serviced before I need it returned before Memorial weekend. It's now May 26th, 2021 and I went in for my scheduled pickup and service was to be complete.. just to be told AGAIN that my camper still hasn't been in the bay and serviced. I'm a patient person, but this, this is absolutely ridiculous. All the manager could say was "bring it back in once you're done with it and we'll get it taken care of." I'm a Good Sam member, but I'm done with this places service department and their "don't give a damn attitude" when it comes to customer service. Horrible communication and follow up and I can't even rate the repair service.. because none of it was actually done! read more
