After reading the other reviews I felt I should leave my own review.i am a first time home owner and propane user. After purchasing my home last year I found out that my propane had dwindled down to nothing. It was DAYS before THANKSGIVING and we had no hot water or heat. I called around not knowing whom I should use. I contact several propane providers and ended up with Campora who had previously been serving this address under the previous owners. Karen(I believe her name was) helped me, she was very understanding of my dire need of service. She had a driver come out asap and service us right away so we would not be without heat, or hot water, or use of our stove. As I had mentioned, i had already contact a couple of the other propane companies who would not and could not service me in an emergency basis. CAMPORA to the rescue!! BTW... I own my own tank. Just a side note. Since then I have had nothing but positive experiences with Campora from the drivers to all 4 girls who have helped me in the office. Everyone is friendly and pleasant. We just moved in to a house. They detected a leak in the home and locked our tank. We had a plumber out to fix the leak the next day. Campora says they can't get anyone out for five more days because of the weekend. Don't have a emergency or expect any sympathy or promptness from Campora. They're leaving us without hot water for seven days. We have two children in the home. They refuse to make any effort to get here any faster. They could care less. read more

This company has provided the worst service I have ever experienced. They entered my property without permission--trespassing--and attempted to remove a propane tank without notifying or getting authorization from me. To make matters worse, they are now trying to bill me for services I never requested or agreed to. I have had zero communication or signed agreements authorizing any of this, yet they continue to push charges and act as if this behavior is normal. Their lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for basic property rights is astonishing. If you're considering working with this company--think twice. I would never recommend them to anyone. Stay far away. read more

Probably a better value than getting your tanks replaced at the local hardware store and you're getting exactly what you pay for. You might have to venture to south of Stockton but if you have the time I recommend hitting up Campora to fill multiple tanks or large volume tanks. read more

These guys had the best price on propane I could find. There might be some lower but I did not talk to them. These guys were about $1.25 a gallon lower then competitors in my town. It made it worth driving there to get propane since I was getting several bottles filled. read more

Originally posted to the wrong Campora location, but as there's been more bad interaction with Campora, I am updating and putting the review here so others can be warned of this company. First interaction I had with them was back in May, as they owned the propane tank at a property I was purchasing. I contacted them while in escrow, and they immediately sent me an application to switch the rental to my name. Of course, that makes sense to me, so I told them I would send the application back as soon as the sale finalized, as I did not want to have to explain a new hard credit inquiry pulled towards the end of escrow to my mortgage company. Well, I ended up having to write a letter anyways, as they pulled my credit without my permission while I was still in escrow. I have since filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and am still waiting the results of that. Fast forward a couple of month, I get another letter in the mail with a form asking for consent to pull my credit so they can switch the account to my name. This threw me off a little, as they had already pulled my credit. Sure, illegally, but they did it, so why do they need a form asking my permission to pull my credit so they can switch the account to my name? So I sat on it for a few days, trying to decide how to proceed. 4 days after getting that letter, an employee of Campora shows up at my house. Asked why he is there, he refuses to show a work order. Asked to leave, he refuses to do so. He starts to get agitated and threatens violence if we don't let him do whatever he wants on our property. 911 is called on this violent belligerent employee with a Campora truck and Campora shirt. He still refuses to leave. (note that the tank is not easily accessible now because of work the previous owner did). He finally leaves when he sees the Sheriff drive by (but before the Sheriff could turn around and come up to our house). Photos of the employee have been submitted to the Sheriff for possible criminal trespassing. If just one of these instances happened, I would think it could be a problem with a rogue toxic employee. But because it's happened multiple times with different employees, it's clear this is a systemic problem with this company. It may just be this one location, but based on my experience alone, I would recommend everyone stay as far away from this company or else you risk being a victim of a criminal act committed by them. Hopefully, it's just this one branch, and not the entire company. I will update once the outcome of these two criminal investigations against this company is resolved. Or when any additional criminal acts are committed by them. read more

The Stockton branch has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Karen (manager) and Samantha both are extremely rude and heartless. The drivers are very helpful and nice! If I could change companies I would!!!!! And honestly they don't even deserve one star!!! read more

They refuse to fill my tank. Even when they are here filling my neighbors tank. Called the Campora co. in Willowcreek Ca. and they refuse to sell me any propane. They are endangering my life making me go without heat all winter. It really gets cold in the Mountains in the winter. read more

I bought a new propane tank to refill it for the first time, I searched for nearby propane filling stations and saw good customer reviews and came straight to it. It is near Highway 99 and Highway 4. The first time I went to the entrance, it was difficult to find. Google Navigation took me to the ramp of Highway 99. I couldn't find the lane to enter. I had to continue driving on Highway 99 made a U-turn at the next exit and came back. After careful testing, I finally found a path into the parking lot with many big propane tanks. It was lunch break at that time, and I didn't know what was going on with the gas filling. There happened to be an old customer who also followed when I came, he told me that I had to wait in line at the entrance , waiting the staff said hello. After a while, the staff came. He was very nice and skilled. refill is very quickly. He told me to take a receipt to the office to pay. The office is very clean and tidy. The cashier was warm and polite, and the price of propane was not as expensive as expected. It's hard to imagine such a neat and civilized unit on the outer edge of Stockton. We had a very bad experience with Campora Propane Service. We ordered propane and we indicated we needed it badly, but they doe charge almost double on emergency cases, which is not there fault, its a business. We ordered which took about almost 2 weeks to get, then they gave us a date, and didn't comply stated they were closed, so they wouldn't deliver til the next day. Well, just because we went to office to complain of delivery date they even called back to give us. I just said well not good customer service, cause gas is a necessity may look for a different company, bluntly said YES, YOU DO THAT! I have been in Customer Service for 20 years, plus, and you do not handle customers in that manner. A Company gets most of there business by the word of mouth and reviews. There was a Campora Tank on the house I just bought from a flipper. First tank is free how can a flipper resist that? Well come to find out Campora went ahead and got our information and ran our credit without authorization. Today a few month later they show up unannounced, I informed them we have no contract and you, you can not access the property right now. he walked around me and continued to stay on the property and refused to leave. I call their office but no paperwork could be found on why they came. I called the sheriff and told them I will have them removed. Last words the driver said to me was better hope I don't find you off this property. read more

Our whole area is currently cut off due to a slide and is going to be for a long time. Our driver came out here the other day and filled us all up right before the County closed the road permanently. I think he got stuck out here as a result of his efforts. We certainly appreciated the outstanding effort and have continued to be impressed with our service from Campora. This company is awesome!!! Our serviceman came out and topped off all of the propane tanks on our court knowing that Morgan Territory Road was going to be temporarily closed for an undetermined amount of time. Not only was he the last vehicle to get through MTR, and knowing he had to exit via the back road, he made sure we all would have propane to get us through this temporary situation. I spoke with Campora Propane in regards to refilling My Parents propane tank who is disabled with two kids. Campora's prices were high at $2.69/gallon. I was told that we can purchse the propane from anyone but they will have to come and pick up their tank. I told them them that they can come pick up their tank once they setup an account with another company. I called Suburban Propane and they came to check the Propane tank. They found out that the tank still had ~125 gallons. Before they were setup with the new company, Campora Propane came early in the morning without letting them know that their Propane Tank was being picked up. They took the tank without any notice and full knowledge that they didn't have another Propane Tank on the premise. They did not knock, they did not tell anyone at the residence that they were taking the tank. I called Campora and the customer service representative told me that their computer was down and she will have her manager call me back ASAP. The manager never called back. I called Campora and spoke with a Rep and the manager asking to refund my parents for the 125 gallon of propane that was in the tank but the manager told me that they will only credit $0.85/gallon which comes to $80.75, and as a courtesy they will waive the $19.75 which my parents still owe them due to the $100.00 pick up fee. The tank was about 25% full which can be confirmed with Suburban Propane. They will only issue a credit of $80.75 for about 100 gallons of Propane. If my parents were to buy that propane from Campora, they would charge them $336.25. Campora Propane is not giving any refund and somehow the propane that was in the tank equals the pick-up fee of the tank. We were not aware of any pick-up fee and my parents should be refunded $336.25 for the propane that was in the tank (125 gallons)even though they left a disabled person, caregiver, two kids, without heat during the holiday season. They might offer you an initial low price but after the first fill their rates will skyrocket, 20% to 30% higher than others. When you call for a refill they will come take their tank with whatever propane that is inside to equal a pick up fee that you were never told about. Buyer Beware!!! read more
