I dropped a large amount of money on a prebuilt computer. I have had nothing but problems with it I've taken it in twice now and I still have the same issues. I tried calling multiple times no answer. Called the 1-800 line I got zero help from them. I was told to try and take my computer to a different location. I am beyond angry!! I believe this store used to be NCIX. The store is located inside Lansdown mall which mean there are plenty of free parkings. Staffs were helpful here. They directed us to a computer to do an item search. Also they helped us grab the item that we were looking for off the shelf. We were looking for a special tiny keyboard. Its not a common keyboard that can be found at all computer stores. Its an item that would need to be ordered online. So, we were not expecting to find it here. But we were surprised they have one left. Scores! We were surprised of the low rating here. But I have to agree layout here is not the best. The isles are narrow. That doesn't bothers me because its not like I live in the store. read more

Canada Computers was a breath of fresh air compared to Atic computers where we lost 20 bucks on a restocking fee of a 64 buck item. At Canada Computers we felt like a valued customer from day one. They helped us come up with a good desktop build and we picked it up the next day. The computer has worked well ever since. One thing I also want to add is the guys went out of their way to save us money by showing us the parts we needed for the games we wanted to play. Our original build ideas would have been overkill. All in all they saved us over 500 bucks. read more

I walked into this store with a keyboard in my hands to exchange from the other store that I got from the Burnaby location and we even spoke to the associate who told us that they didn't have it in stock. Anyways, we left and they had the audacity to follow me into the store next door and accused me of stealing an item! Do you think I would just walk out so calmly with a huge box half my size!? Do you think if I stole something I would just nonchalantly walk into the insurance place next door and sit down and talk about my insurance. They didn't even pull me aside they spoke OUT LOUD in front of the brokers and accused me of stealing. I had my receipt. I was furious. You are not whatsoever allowed to follow customers outside unless you are loss prevention or a security I know this. And that guy was a sales associate so I know he was not loss prevention Not to mention my item wasn't in stock in their store! When I proved to them I didn't steal anything everyone in the insurance place kept asking me questions and even they were shocked at this place. Never going back to this location. read more

Hard to get them on the phone and their warranties are overpriced worthless garbage. Paid a pretty penny for 2 year extended warranty on my son's laptop. A year and a half later one key falls off the keyboard. They want me to pay $500 to fix it. Basic wear & tear is apparently a concept they don't understand, and they DON'T stand behind their products. Buyer beware. read more

Purchased a GTX 2070 card and had to get it exchanged almost a month after because it was defective. Had to wait nearly an HOUR because the one person allowed to do exchanges was helping other people, now that wasn't a problem because I understand that he must help who comes first; so I chat around with some of the workers, who were all really nice, and discover that the one person capable of doing exchanges was helping them do a computer build, which any of the other associates should be able to do. So I was wondering how come he just HAS to be the one to help them and after waiting for a bit more, I realize that they were speaking Mandarin and that the person helping them must've been the only person that speaks Mandarin, so I continued to wait as I understood their situation. After another 10-15 minutes, I overhear another one of the associates speaking Mandarin, meaning that they have more than one associate who can speak Mandarin. I was so baffled as to why that associate able to do exchanges hadn't just told the other associate that can speak Mandarin to take over so he could help me instead as he was the ONLY one capable of helping me do the exchange. I figured that it could've been a special situation requiring him specifically so I let that go. After getting helped by the person who could do the exchange, he was the manager, I was told that they would have to test the card to make sure it was defective first, which is completely understandable, and so I asked for an ETA; I was told that the next day it would be ready. So the very next day, I call in to request to see if the card has been tested and I'm told by an associate that they couldn't have done it today so it'll be ready tomorrow. So the day AFTER that, I called again to, once again, request if the card has been tested AND was again told that they were too busy to test it and it may take a couple more days. IF I was told from the beginning that they were very busy and that it would take a couple days to test, I would have understood completely, but being promised TWICE that it would be done the coming day, I was furious. I finally get the card exchanged after a couple days. Fast forward approximately two weeks, I see that the new GTX 2070 SUPER has released and is selling for the same price as the GTX 2070 when I purchased it. I call the store to make sure that I would be able to return the card as I wasn't sure how they determine the dates, whether it would've been the original purchase date, or the exchange date; I was told that it would be okay to return and I could get it done. I immediately go have it returned and was told that the new card's serial number, was NOT scanned into the system when I did the exchange and therefore I wouldn't be able to do a return. The associate helping me then asked for his supervisor to take a look and I am told by the supervisor that the card wouldn't be able to be returned because the game code,the card came with a game, has already been redeemed. I redeemed the code for the OLD card with the defect and did not redeem it for the NEW card and therefore asked how the codes are generated. I was told by the supervisor there that the CARD itself provides a game code and that the new one was redeemed, therefore I wouldn't be able to return the card. Confused, I try to redeem the code on my phone with the new card with the receipt that was reprinted for me and it worked. I ask for the supervisor again and then I am told that each RECEIPT generates a code and it isn't the card itself. Wouldn't an infinitely generated code mean that associates can reprint the receipt multiple times and have infinite game codes? Since returning was not an option, I asked to have it price matched with the newer and cheaper price, 150 dollars less than my purchase price, since it was now on sale, but was told that I already got the cheaper price even though my bank records show I have not gotten it for cheaper. UPDATE: I did not get it for cheaper because the 2-year warranty was added WITHOUT my consent. Went back to have it returned. read more

Contacted the Burnaby store instead and they are fantastic - responded very promptly to my email - driving all the way out there from Richmond just to avoid the Richmond shop for this If they can't do something as simple as respond to an email, why would you trust them with something as precious as your computer? read more

I went to the Richmond, BC store and selected a 5" Cat6 networking cable but could not see the end visible through the window in the box, so I took it to the front counter and asked the agent to open the box so I could more thoroughly evaluate the product, which he agreed to and did, so far so good. The product was not up to my standards so I selected two alternate cables and asked for their boxes to be also opened so I could compare them hands-on for a similar reason. A different and younger salesman insisted the products (which were the in-house brand) would cease to be salable if the seal was broken (which is most definitely false, any associate has the responsibility to open a box on customer request and reseal it if the customer does not want the product). He said that I could purchase the product and then ask for a refund if it was not to my liking, but due to time constraints in a busy working day I declined to purchase anything. The store was not busy at that time but I most certainly was, and I do not feel the second associate treated my time respectfully. read more

Go to Memory Express instead! ME does price protection and matching with competitors up to 15 days after purchase and beat it by 10% to boot. Canada Computers doesn't do any of that and would rather turn customers away. read more
