We were thinking about replacing our upstairs carpet as it was worn and off colored…read more The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly Harrison. We were shown the different styles of carpets and explained what we were looking for . Youre allowed to take home the sample swatches so there could be some stock missing if someone's signed out two or three of them. My only complaint here is there is a large sample on the front and tons of small samples on the back... Hard to get a feel of how it'll look with only small samples. I know you can't keep excess stock everywhere but maybe if they kept some scrap from jobs of the most common colors and had larger samples handy it would help. They do have another way to get an in home view. They have an app/website where you sample photograph your home and test the carpet color. I found it was fairly accurate and we chose the carpet color that looked best . You do pay for the carpet 100% in advance. We were a little off put because when do you ever pay in advance . But they do have a 100% guarantee and will even rip out the carpet and replace if with a different color if you decide you don't like it. They have such great reviews, we went ahead and booked. We opted to rip our our own carpet out to save a little money on install. It does take some time as the edges can be a hassle but all in all it wasn't too bad. Install day came and our installers Mark and Luigi were great. They joked around with eachother and were a delight with our doggies. When the carpet was initially brought into the house we had an "Oh NO" moment. We thought we chose too light of a color and they would have to rip it out. But, once they started installing it on the stairs the light hit differently and we both knew it was perfect. The carpet itself is thick and luscious. Feels like you're walking on clouds. You get what you pay for 100% and we are 100% happy with the choice we made to go with carpet one. Thanks to Harrison and the team for the guidance .

Really disappointed with how Oshawa Carpet One handled an issue after our installation…read more We had flooring and baseboards installed and during the installation a nail was put through a plumbing pipe behind the wall. We didn't know at the time because the pipe didn't start leaking until months later. When we eventually found water coming through our basement ceiling and opened everything up, the nail through the pipe was found. Our plumbing was installed to code. I contacted Carpet One about what happened and was basically told they weren't responsible because of a liability clause we had signed. I also contacted the store manager directly and sent the information about what happened, but nothing was done to resolve it. I then left a Google review and they responded publicly telling me to contact the store manager, which was especially frustrating because I had already contacted the manager and had even included the email showing that I had done so. I understand that accidents can happen during renovations. What I'm most disappointed about is how this was handled afterwards. A nail from their installation went through our pipe and caused a leak and damage to our basement, and instead of trying to work with us on a resolution, they simply said they weren't liable. I definitely wish I had known this was how a situation like this would be handled before choosing them for our installation.

I have gone to the store, talked to the very dismissive manager who only directed me to their call centre. He was extremely rude to me & had zero compassion for my issues. I have followed up with him 3 times & no response. My issue still is not resolved. There is no way of getting a hold of anyone in the store so I have no choice but to take time out of my day to go in again. I made a $5,000 purchase & opted for the 6 month financing but the salesperson messed up & put 3 months & we are now being charged interest. When I went in to get this resolved they put in a ticket & said it would be taken care of. A month later & it still is not. The bank has heard nothing from Ashley. At this point we want to return all of our furniture as they don't deserve a penny from us.

Maybe because it wasn't a large purchase the salesperson just wanted to run the order through without explaining what we we buying. The accent piece had a candle and decorrive stornes and the card price (more like over priced) made you think the you were getting the hold thing. I was so disappointed with the bait and switch we felt the store. We waited a couple of days. I thought maybe the store just had bad karma that day. Nope. The staff member just wanted to be an order taker. No interest in our needs, no help and no sale. I like the furniture but next time I just buy online and not be treated poorly.

One of their sales reps told us we could buy a curtain to take home and then exchange it if it wasn't the right colour even though it's in PERFECT condition. Had them cut rods but they weren't cut properly even though the measurements were CORRECT and they won't do anything about it. Thought about having them install curtains too but when we realized that Mark, the owner, chooses (on a whim or based on how he's feeling that day) who gets a better price for such services, we opted out. It's hard to support small businesses when this is how they run their business - especially when it's something custom and so specific like curtains, rods, etc!

Window owners everywhere, this is a window covering solution you won't find at any hardware store. If you have a ceiling or bulkhead that sits directly on top of the window frame -- that is, there's no wall space between the top of the frame and the ceiling -- you've probably done what everyone does in that situation: mount a half-moon style rod hook on the frame itself. So you know what happens: you can see the top of the frame above the top of the curtains, and you get a line of light coming in at the top, because the curtains can't sit high enough to cover the whole window. Well, Mark's got an app for that. :-) Ask him for the ceiling-mounted rings. They come in all the same colours as the rods. Oh, and you MUST buy the rods, too. You know the kind you get in hardware stores, the expandable kind? You know how they sag in the middle because they're not sturdy? And how your curtains get stuck in the gap? And then you have to pull too hard on them, and the next thing you know you've ripped that cheap rod hook right out of the wall? Well, so far, I've bought... let me count in my head...six sets of solid rods and ceiling supports from Mark, and they're the greatest things. I keep showing all my clients and tenants, and they're amazed they've never seen such a simple curtain solution anywhere before. I tell them, just go see Mark at The Drapery King.
