I had to change my wipers. I bought them from canadian tire and ask for help to install. They had to book an appointment. i roam around for more than an hour. **DO NOT GET AN ALIGNMENT AT THIS CT!!!!!!!!*** Went for an alignment on my car. Paid and left: my wheels were still VERY obviously crooked, seen by the naked eye. Took over 30 minutes to get the service advisor on the phone the next day. WTF. Then she proceeded to rebut my request and didn't believe that the wheels were still crooked. Booked me another appointment a week away. Because apparently they only have one alignment guy . Went for the second adjustment. Got told some massive bull crap about how it would be a two hours job to adjust my *adjustable control arms that I had specifically installed to correct the wheels*. wtf?! Meantime, my mechanic knows my car and keeps advising what I should do (he doesn't have an alignment machine). I really don't want to go back for a third time to deal with this Canadian Tire and their completely f'ing incompetent alignment guy. All he has to do is LOOK at the part. read more

I needed a new starter for my Honda CR-V. The bill was close to 7 hundred dollars-What bothered me is that they said they had to complete a diagnostic to determine what was wrong with the vehicle. Well that cost $109.00 (pretax) and the outcome was that I needed a new starter. Service Clerk was not helpful -"I don't know I don't work back there". Overall crummy experience. I wish I would have taken it somewhere else. Such an icky feeling to feel you have been ripped off-ugh. I will never return to Canadian Tire on Smythe Street for anything. I show up at my service appointment, and they had already given my tires away to somebody else! Their automotive does shady extra hidden fees. A simple Tire change, where Costco tells you the price straight up per tire, Canadian Tire advertises a lower price but adds on a "shop supplies" fee that makes it no cheaper and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It's a shady practice that other shops don't do. I'll go to Costco for tire changes from now on. read more

This store is not what it used to be. Alot of the people working there dont seem to have much of a clue. The most helpful people are either in the upstairs office, sporting goods, or the guys at the automotive counter. If you need anything from any other department, forget it. read more

I brought my car in to the auto service centre with engine problems, and the staff could not replicate the issue. My car stalled on the way home and would not restart. After going back the next day, no one would answer the phone and I stood in an empty line for 15 minutes with no help, while the staff ignored me and continued regular conversation. I would only take my car here if it was the only service centre in the northern hemisphere. read more

They have the worst service center for fixing vehicles. I would never ever recommend anyone to get their vehicle fixed or checked at this place. They call it crappy tire for a reason and I didn't realize this until my recent experience. They told me to bring my vehicle in first thing in the morning and it was going to be done in about three hours. Then, the guy they put on to work on my vehicle was put on other duties since my vehicle wasn't so important, they told me it's going to take over 24hrs to fix it. The vehicle was done but the guy who is doing the alignment has other important things to do so they couldn't help me. I can't wait to have my vehicle back so I never have to go back to this place ever again. Plus they charge so much so I know I shouldn't have gone there because I could have gotten a much better serivice paying less. read more

Towed my truck to Canadian tire on a tuesday with a blown fuel line. Decided to replace the gas tank while I was at it, it had been leaking. A week later they still hadn't done either, then after a moment of brilliant mechanical observation "It dosen't start, you need to fix that first". Absolutely terrible automotive service. I think it only stays alive because of the Canadian Tire free towing for people with roadside plans. read more

Canadian Tire seems so helpful, they told me what was wrong with my car and went ahead and fixed it for me. As I drove it off the lot five minutes in my car stops working completely. In my head I think I just need a boost so I call everyone I know with jumper cables and my car won't even make a spark. This took me a good 4 hours. I call up Canadian Tire and ask them what exactly they did to my car and they replied "well you drove it off the lot so your car is no longer our problem." (That was a direct quote by the way.) All I could think was I couldn't even make it five minutes in the car you were just working on and it's not your problem? Well if this is the kind of service you give then I am surprised that people actually go and allow you to work on their cars at all. I am over the moon with anger and to make things better they told me they would take a look and see what is wrong if and only if I pay to have my car towed back to them and I pay for their time and services. However if I am looking on the bright side of all of this they will test my battery for free!! Well first of all it is already a complementary service and second of all I would have hoped they had checked it anyway seeing as they left my keys in the ignition for the entire 4 hours they were working on my car. I have to say that this is the worst experience I have ever had at an auto repair shop. I will never recommend for people to go there if they value their cars to work in proper condition or if they want reliable service. By the way all I wanted in the beginning was to get my tires changed and I have never had a problem with this car until it was in there hands. The end result mind you was a car that I can no longer drive until I can find someone more qualified to fix it, being out about a 1000 dollars and four beautiful new tires that will not be able to seeing the wonderful roads of Fredericton until I can find enough money to fix the car that I had never had a problem with before up until now. read more
