At this point, I must digress. I have been to Cancun a million times to the point I feel they need to give me citizenship, and I'll just go work in the Joya Hospital by LA Isla. While I absolutely love going to the Westin, at times, I just go with the practical and cheaper options and am just content to be in the country and city that brings me peace. I love what Cancun has to offer. Great people, great sites, great smells, great beaches, great food and drink, great hospitality, and great accommodations! This hotel is not for all. I love a humble hotel every once in a whole, and I enjoyed my time. I would definitely come back and stay with them. Everybody is so sweet! When I arrived, they took my passport, made a copy and gave me my room key, and gave me the wifi. I was on the second floor, and I took the elevator up, but I learned quickly just to take the stairs. First, let me explain the lobby first. You go in, the lobby is beautiful and well lighted with a bar and a dining area for their continental breakfast. Back to my room. There was a queen sized bed, a decent sized bathroom with a stand-up shower with beautiful hot water. Ahhhhhhh, such a strong and hot shower. I could have stayed in there forever. The room had the bed, a couch, a desk and a TV. I spent most of my room time on WiFi, though. The channels were mostly Spanish, which I loved, but they had a great selection of English channels The bed left a little to be desired. It wasn't super comfy, and after I got the room chilled and covered myself with my blanket, I needed a fluffier blanket. I slept well though cause at the end of the day, it's night. I would return for sure.

Taxis and buses are available just outside the hotel. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a pool view, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. We loved the huge king-size bed and slept really well. The shower was large and easy to use. The restaurant and coffee shop downstairs were great too. Breakfast was inexpensive and tasty. The omelettes, fresh orange juice, coffee and fruit cups were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk clerk cheerfully helped us resolve airport transportation issues. We were also allowed to stay in our room till 6PM on our last day for a $25 fee, even though check-out was ar 12PM. Housekeeping, bartender and wait staff were all friendly and cheerful. We will definintely be back. I highly recommend this hotel.

I decided to find a hotel without the usual bullshit Cancun rules. A hotel that did not look like…read moresome cookie cutter hotel you would find at any vacation spot in America. I wanted to stay somewhere that kind of made me feel like I was in Mexico. Something with a little grunge, a little personality like you would expect while staying in Mexico.. The setting is the backside of one of the first shopping malls built in Cancun. It may look like it was built over a hundred years ago but just keep in mind that Cancun didn't even exist until the late seventies. The craftsmanship was terrible and it shows. Cheap labor and cutting corners does not make for a quality lasting product. I want to make it clear that this is an accusation about the people in power in Mexico and greedy American corporations and not a reflection on Mexican labor. As a contractor I have used a lot of Mexican labor over the last forty years and many of them were among the most skilled people I have ever met. Anyway getting back to my description, the place is janky in a way that I found a bit alluring; kind of a cross between Mayan ruins and Tijuana janky. Falling down columns, peeling plaster and old worn uneven walkways janky. Like I said before, you enter from the backside of an old mall and it has more than a bit of "backside of an old mall appearance". After entering through a wide passageway into an internal courtyard, you climb a stairway to the second floor and walk along a balcony overlooking the courtyard until you come to a set of large double doors on your right that leads to the front desk. All rooms are located on an interior corridor that you cannot get to without passing the the front desk. Although the rooms are large and spacious, the strange layout does nothing to really take advantage. The layout is a cross between asymmetrical and chaotic with plenty of heavy wooden countertop space protruding in every direction. The amazing part of this is that there are outlets everywhere. Outlets and working space wise, these rooms are a techni-geek's dream. Now if they would just pay a few extra dollars for better internet service. I would have even been willing to pay for it. (the whole town is an internet lovers nightmare) My room was clean and the waterfall shower head was pleasant but the mattresses are a nightmare and I am not one to usually complain about such things. The air conditioning works and they also have balconies that open onto the old outdoor mall one floor below. Everyone that worked there was extremely friendly, kind and very helpful. I cannot praise the staff enough. There is 24 hour security and the guards double as porters to help you with your luggage. A little gratuity and they will bend over backwards for you. Please tip the help, their lives are dependent on it. You will be treated well in return. My biggest complaint was the noise at night. I thought this place was going to be quiet in an off the beaten path kind of a way. It wasn't. It was loud in a motorcycles coming and going all night and parking below your window kind of way. Of course the motorcyclists have to rev up their motors and talk over the sound of the engines. Costa Blanca Suites definitely has its charm but bring ear plugs if you plan on sleeping.

Bed orientation was weird, but it's still fine. bathroom was clean, shower room was there. The hot water took a while to warm up, But it ll get hot. just wait for it. Room doesn't have mini fridge- microwave and iron/iron board. we asked reception for it, but they only provided iron, not even board. they said no to fridge/microwave. The staff were friendly and helpful. hotel provides you free wifi, but in room # 10, it was very week. in corridor, you ll get good signal. Housekeeping was coming to four days to clean, change bed sheet and towels. they even leave one envelope every day for the tip. Vanesa was our maid. the hotel does not provide you any bar or pool, but it has some plan like other all-inclusive restaurants. not sure how we did not care for it. Hotel is on 2nd level, no access for wheelchairs. the best part of this hotel was- it was right in the hotel zone. Coco bongo-Daddy's-Mandela all nightclubs was hardly 800 meter away, which took us 10 minutes walking. The area is safe, we were in nightclub zone for all 4 days till 2 AM and we did not hire cab a single day as the hotel was near and the area was safe. that's plus point of this hotel. as I read the blog, you have to buy drinking water, Supermarket Chedraui was right beside it just 5 minutes walking. we bought water, snacks and other items for 4 days and walked right into the room, so no cab. it is across from THE RIU PALACE. small cafe and eatery joints are right behind the hotel. we were having breakfast there only. Playa Caracol and chca mool beach are near to it. 2-3 bus stops are near to it in both directions. 12 pesos and you are good to go anywhere. I would strongly recommend, not to hire car and ride the bus. it is very frequent in the hotel zone Overall I would recommend this for budget folks like us.

I arranged my airport transportation via email with such ease. They had everything confirmed within a day for all my requests. The room is super comfortable and beautiful! It's simple, but elegant. They have TVs in every room but no local phone line - but you don't really need it cause they have free WiFi everywhere in the hotel. The location is great! Easy area to grab a cab from the main road, awesome eating choices in the area from breakfast to dinner, and it's tucked away from the main street so you don't have the street noise. I highly recommended staying here when you are in Cancun!

It was a reasonable price but this would definitely be my last resort. Theres so many other hotels keep shopping around.

They said they could switch out cars the next morning but we will be over 3 hours away. My friends booked because we did and had no issues but they booked a compact/sedan. I am not a fan of bait and switch. Since we need an SUV and were at the mercy of the rental companies - we had to pay almost three times what we already had paid/budgeted at Price.
