I had a really great great experience with Cancun Catamarans ! Before booking I had several questions about logistics. I communicated over email with Rocio. He was extremely responsive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. We rented a private catamaran and it was absolutely gorgeous. The boat was sparkling clean and spacious. There was more than enough room for our party of six to spread out and be comfortable. There is a seated area at the front of the boat with tables and chairs, and then the back of the boat has a large netted area where you can lounge. The four hours are mainly spent cruising around. We were able to jump out once and snorkel with one of the crew members as our guide. We also docked once near a beach area and got to swim out and enjoy the beach for a little while. The crew members on the boat were all friendly and attentive. Open bar is included in the package and they were constantly refilling our drinks when they got low. I just wish that they had drink trays or lids -- we mainly wanted to enjoy our drinks on the netted area, but you really couldn't lay out and have a drink at the same time. I was also a little bummed to learn that a 5% card fee was added to the final payment. I paid the first third of the payment online as a deposit, and the remaining 2/3 got paid in person that day. I understandably did not want to carry hundreds of dollars in cash, so that was a little frustrating. If you are traveling to Cancun with a group I think the private boat is worth the cost. For 6 of us it ended up coming out to around 150 PP, not much different than the 100 ish PP that you'd pay to go on a public catamaran. It was really nice to have the private experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to rent with this company again if I found myself in Cancun! read more

Our private Cancun catamaran sailing for 7 hours was so much fun and relaxing too! The motor catamaran was big enough for 25 people on board but it was just hubby and I so we had the entire boat to ourselves! We had three super friendly crew members at our service the whole day and they were the best we could ever ask for! We were able to play our own favorite music from our phones which made the sailing more enjoyable. We chose to leave at 2 in the afternoon from beautiful marina chac chi. Check in was fast and easy, we toured the marina a bit to take some photos before getting on the boat. Caesar was our super cool tour guide and one of the crew members. He picked us up from the marina and took us to 43 ft motor catamaran for our private tour at sea and to Isla Mujeres island. The sail was smooth enough most of the time with some mild waves. Hubby did snorkeling for an hour or so and he had so much fun swimming with the fish and toured the beautiful reefs and underground museum. I waited for him on board with all-you-can-drink cocktails flowing freely the entire time. The boat was very clean cause they were cleaning it constantly which was a huge relief for me! The crew caught a huge king mackerel when we were sailing at sea, I've never seen a freshly caught fish that big! They were going to make ceviche and I imagine it's super fresh and tasty! Caesar was really the best tour guide ever, he was so friendly and helpful the whole time, walked us to restaurant to make sure we didn't get lost somewhere. It was dark when we were sailing back but the night views were amazing too. So glad hubby booked this private catamaran sailing tour, it was one of the best tour experiences we'v ever had! I absolutely loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat! Ps. I don't recommend shop at the store for jewelry and alcohol they introduced, unless you are a pro on jewelry and alcohol you don't know if they are real or not! So it's very risky! read more

TW: animal cruelty. They told us it would be 1,100 pesos (roughly $55 USD) and we ended up paying 1,250 each ($62.50 USD) If if could give this zero stars I would. They sell you on parasailing and snorkeling and neither happened. Instead they drove us to an island to drop a rope and tell us we could get in the water for 15 minutes from there, took us to Isla Mujeres to eat. Lunch was ok, but they have a fish in only a couple feet of water with lines of people waiting to take pictures holding it. After that, took us to another island for 2 hours. and took us back home... never warned us we weren't parasailing or snorkeling. The boat staff is amazing... but managers of the whole thing are terrible and this felt like a fraud! read more

We liked our day with Samba. The crew was friendly and kept the drinks flowing all day. We booked through our hotel and paid $100/ person. Upon arrival at the pier, we had to pay an additional $10/ person. Snorkeling was fun and the para swing too. I would have liked to spend more time in the city of Isla Mujeres and less time where we ate lunch. The food was NOT good and I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning ( I didn't drink enough to have a hang over and only drank bottled water the whole time so it wasn't montezumas revenge). They took pictures throughout the day and sold us on the $50 package. I'm a sucker for memories... Everyone expected tips along the way, just a warning. Looking back, I would have preferred to visit some ruins or cenotes but it gives me a reason to come back to Cancun read more

Stop, save your money. This is not what you're looking for. The boat is filled with about 50 people and we went during off season. They take you snorkeling on a reef that is pretty much dead and force you all into a large group bumping into everyone as you go. The underwater museum looks like my 4 year old son made it in art class and he's no artist let me tell you that. The Island itself is one big tourist trap. The "beautiful north bay beach" was actually a shit hole. The beaches on the lagoon in Cancun looked better. However, the biggest issue with this tour is that they don't even serve you tequila on the boat, it's agave liquor. What even is that, tastes like cough medicine. They try to sell you on swimming with a nurse shark but if you know what a nurse shark is then you understand that it's nothing but a big blind fish with no teeth. Would not recommend. read more

No No No!!! What a rip off! Over promised on everything. Save your money. At check-in they try to up sell you. The boat crew were ok. You are crowded into the catamaran. They served us one round of drinks then said we needed to wait - this is supposed to be open bar! The snorkeling is a joke as mentioned before nothing to see. Small fish u can see from a pier. They drop you into the water with 10-12 other boats then cattle herd you from one point to another the whole time yelling to stay together. As a diver I was thinking WTH! The lunch buffet was fine. Only served Sol beer on the boat. Promised Coronas! The shopping on Isla Mujeres is standard tourist stuff but they do take you to a preferred shop where you get a wristband to sample tequila and have restroom access. Our friends were conned by this shop! They sampled a reserve tequila and purchased it for $100 shop swapped the bottle for a $15 lower quality. It was wrapped tightly so it was too late when we noticed back on the mainland. I'm SURE this happens day in and day out. Don't let them wrap anything unseen. Hope this helps! read more

Once we made it to the spot where we were going to snorkel, my daughter and i hadnt gotten our jackets or goggles until everyone had jumped in, the water was choppy and the man kept saying jump and being in a hurry due to the other boats coming in to do the same thing. THen go to another spot and yall need to all not be in the same spot, its not that difficult. Also being rushed is NOT a way i like things done when on vacation. This happens a lot in Mexico i see, please stop that, its rude and disresptful. upon on turn to get in, we didnt get to, i was furious. they snorkeled maybe 20 minutes in choppy muggy water. OF course they had the alchol coming around, they do keep that flowing to make people happy, the photographers were amazing. when we got to the beach, the water was amazing and the buffet was good. My advice, go with no kids because they will rush you and you cant rush children and parents. read more

Catamaran ride, Snorkeling in the Caribbean, went shopping at Isla Mujeres, swam with nurse shark, lunch at the beach club with authentic Mexican food. Riu palace Costa Mujeres. Dude sells me ticket. 100 bucks but only need 20 deposit. Tells me snorkel then lunch in isla Mujerea and then snorkel aga.in before going back to Costa Mujeres.. I get on the Catamaran and people talk what they paid. 3 girls to my left paid 60 a piece plus dock fee (75 total) me alone and a white man pays 125 total. This didn't annoy me cause I know how business works. This is where it shows how crappy it was. Snorkeling in a dump area was for 25 mins. This is horrible. I snorkeled in Mahahaul for 45 mins for 40 bucks and was brought over awesome reefs. More kicker now. No drinks till you snorkel cause danger (nonsense cause you snorkel for 20 mins) back to ship then to some beach club that you get 90 mins open bar and food. So we go back to cancun after this and when we get to dock tips pushed on you. This is where I got mad. I tipped 2 to 3 bucks each round cause I ordered 1 or 2 drinks. At dock they hounded me. Noone was tipping on drinks. I was. I pulled a 20 out and this clown offered 2 five bills. I watched people fill this pricks Container with bills and then he had nothing to give me. I said get me change or you get nothing. I was not aggressive at all but I faced this BS. Don't ever take these clowns again. Boys I'm at Riu Palace and you know I'm 100% on point read more

We rented a private 4-hour tour for my best friend's bachelorette weekend. It was amazing!!! The crew was so wonderful and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the trip. They played all the music we loved and made us feel like rock stars!! We decided that we didn't want to snorkel so we got to spend an hour and half on the island, which was a perfect amount for us! Juan told us about a great place to eat in Isla Mujeres right close to the boats where the locals go. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it started with a "P", and the seafood was so fresh and delicious, and super inexpensive. They had live music too which was so much fun!! I would never use this company or recommend this company to anyone. After paying $90 for a full day of snorkeling parasailing and fun on the boat, my party and I were left annoyed tired and out $90. First we were harassed when we get to the marina that we can upgrade and get a better package with better alcohol and a better boat for only $50 more! We said no. The drinks on the boat were awful!!! They were sugary syrup with a splash of bottom shelf alcohol! Then we were told over and over again that the water was so choppy and if we had any doubts in our mind about swimming that we should not snorkel. When we got to our location to snorkel it was so placid and even that a child could've snorkeled. But my entire group couldn't snorkel because they didn't have enough fins and equipment for every person on the boat. Then we were taken to some pier that was so shady that had our amazing Buffay lunch. It was not amazing at all. It was like eating At a homeless shelter. Then we left there and went to Isla Mujeres where we were told 200 times to be back at the dock no later than 340. That we all must be back by 3:40. We all did get back at 3:40 and then waited an additional 30 minutes for the captain and the boat to come back for us. All in all one of the worst snorkeling trips of my life. read more

This was our only excursion from our all-inclusive resort, and it wasn't that great. We're not uptight and we like to have fun, but we would have been happier staying at the resort. The boat had a lot more people than I was expecting, and it's basically a booze cruise. We were there with no kids so that was fine with me, but as a mom, I felt bad for the kiddos on board. There were some girls on board that the crew clearly favored, bringing them shots, dancing with them, etc. The snorkeling part was fun, I wish we would have had more time in the water. It was my first time, and I felt everything was explained well. DO NOT listen to the crew's recommendations for where to eat on the island. We ate at Stingray and it was NASTY. The island was hot and we had too much time there, but it was fun to see the markets and buy some things. The beach was packed with people. Waste of money.They rush you in and out of the (Sea Passion 1) water like swimming in triathlon reef had only 3 fish, underwater museum barley visible due to seaweed etc, they were suppose to sail us to both areas, instead they had us swim about 500 yds into the current, which prevented us from snorkeling, crew to lazy to have us board and sail to the other reef. They sold us on parasailing which didn't happen, we knew they would say not enough wind, however enough wind to sail. Pvt beach didn't have hammocks as stated, buffet was terrible. Open bar water down liquor & cheap beer from 40oz bottles. Better off getting excursion from folks on beach, less people more views and definitely not rushed, clients come first instead of profits like CANCÚN CATAMARANS. read more

animal cruelty. beware do not cruise on samba catamaranes in cancun. this photo does not capture how disturbing this was. the shark was struggling to get away from the worker. the line of people to take pictures and pet this animal went on for the entire time we were on the island with more boats pulling up as we left. it was disturbing to the point that two of us were in tears and one of my kids went to the pen to see if he could help the shark escape. read more

I will NEVER use this company again. We booked the full day trip from Cancun to Isla Mujeres. The boat trip itself was fine. The snorkeling time was significantly less than other trips like this I have taken, and we were very disappointed. My 1-star review is mainly regarding the horrible experience with the transportation back to our hotel. We waited in a van for 45 minutes in the parking lot while they waited for other people coming off other boats that needed transportation to our hotel area. By the time we left the parking lot the van was over capacity and there were adults standing up and kids having to sit on parents' laps. Then, they took the longest route possible, with our hotel being the last stop. We ended up in the van for over 2 hours for a 25-minute commute. This experience ruined anything positive I could have said about this company. They should have had more vans running and left as soon as people from our boat were ready. I would not recommend this company at all. There are other companies running similar trips that are much better organized and have more respect for their customers. read more

We went on the Catamaran tour. It was amazing ! Snorkeling, visit to the island, were great. I did not participate in the spinning because I was unsure about jumping off of it when it was done and it was only about 5 minutes a person. The crew leader seemed a bit agitated by this point in the day. Other than that it was great. Sex on the beach drinks were good although very weak. It was an all day tour 10 am till 5pm and we got some amazing pictures. They even take pictures of you snorkeling. Bring cash with you since they will sell you pictures and you can shop on the island. read more

The boat ride was very nice. The stops were quick and simply a day of pressure to buy crap!! Things were rushed for the next dinero, money opportunity for them We were told the towels were included, true for $5 USD ea rent. Special biodegradable suntan lotion, $15 USD. All tolled $55 USD EXTRA before boarding. Terrible lunch! A lot more but I get angry when I think about it. Before the boat docs an employee with a microphone and a clear container walks around to each patron and asks for a tip. Pretty good experience. The food could have been better and we could have had a little more time to explore Isla Mujeres. the crew members were pretty funny. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. We liked the snorkeling. The fish and the coral looked awesome. Touching the shark sounded scary at first but once you saw it,it wouldn't look so scary. You could even say it was really FUN.
