I am a huge fan of B&BW. I use their products every single day and give their products as gifts…read more I burn the 3-wick candles nightly, and I absolutely love their Halloween and Christmas collections. I look forward to the new collections coming out every year. My friends joke that I need to buy stock in this company. I buy their products both online and in the stores. I frequent three different locations. This location is in Claremont Square next to the Vons grocery store. I go to this location every one or two moths as it is on my route for some meetings that I attend. It has its plusses and minuses. First, in general, it is a neatly organized and well-stocked store. They had tons on sale after the holidays this year. Second, the people working there are knowledgeable about the products. Third, I usually get there around 5:00 or 5:30 on a weekday, and it is never very crowded, so I don't have to wait in line. However, lately, there has been something really bothering me. It has now happened two or three times. When I walk in, they ask what I'm looking for. I either know exactly what I want (my usual scents) or I want to quietly browse. I will ask the staff if I need anything. Lately, they have been super insistent on trying to spray me with some new scent or make me use some random lotion. Last time when I walked in, I told them I was just browsing. They then lead me to a sink and asked me to wash my hands with the new scent. I declined, but almost felt like they were trying to force me. They almost act like, how dare I decline! This was not the first time they have given me this reaction. This has not happened to me in other stores. I have liked this store up until the past few months. I'm not going to buy a new scent because I'm forced to use it. Also, they are not going to make more money from me by trying to get me to switch from the scents that I was already planning to buy. I have placed this feedback in a customer survey as well, so I'm hoping for a change so that I can continue to shop there.

Came here for a nice body lotion. I found some but none that really stood out. The store was pretty…read moreclean and well organized. It was a lot of Christmas themed stuff and it was a bit much imo. I don't particularly find the holiday scents as appealing. Wished they had some of their non seasonal scents available. Staff were pretty jolly. Helpful and all. A little pushy at the end when we didn't end up purchasing anything and they kept offering bits of information to help entice us to buy something. But nothing overwhelming. Parking lot is huge. It's in a plaza so plenty to go around.

My boyfriend and I recently talked about getting married and all I needed was a ring for him to propose me to. I'm still not sure what ring to get, but Marjorie was super sweet and helpful. We even exchanged numbers so she could help me hunt out for the perfect ring. After shopping in major retailers like Robbins Brother and James Allen, I was floored by the amount of attention and detail that she gave to each one of her rings. As a bonus, there was even a store event where we get to talk to a local designer about her design process and aesthetic. This is also a perfect place for designer goods such as candles and pillow. I love it and I hope to come back!!! It was a wonderful experience.

Notably, the sales associates were very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I remember thinking that they had a beautifully curated selection of unique jewelry and planned to shop for more once my budget allowed. The aesthetic reminded me a bit of Catbird (the NYC based jewelry store), but with more of a West Coast/LA vibe. I randomly decided to check out their website today and saw that they now have a location in San Diego! So excited to have a physical location closer to home. Can't wait to stop by! Welcome to SD, Esqueleto! :)

I then went back to do a little holiday shopping, and have been back many times since. I am also happy that the shop continues to host a spirt stop on the stroll. Kiko + Sven is a tiny shop with a lot of cute items. Some appear handmade and other are just cute or unique. They probably have more jewelry than anything. It is mostly dainty gold and silver, some with long beads and some made from clay. They have a back wall that is full of greeting cards, and a section of toddler and baby items. There are usually quite a few candles and soaps, and a small amount of cocktail/cooking supplies. All of it calls out to me... and makes me want to spend money. They also have a rack of clothing in the shop, and usually a sale rack outside. I have bought a couple of tops and a cute shawl there in the past, but since the selection is so small, I often don't find any clothing that either is my size or style. I think it is a great shop to browse and find something unecspected. As it is very small, the times I went looking for something more specific for gifts, it has been a bit hit or miss. Their stock varies over time and you may or may not luck out. All in all, if you are shopping or eating on Adams, go check it out. It's really fun to browse and you may find something you like. Also, they will make you an account so you can put your phone number in for discounts without any coupons or solicitaitons.
