I have been shopping at Kiko + Sven for the past several years. It was one of the first stores I learned about when I went to the very first Adams Avenue Spirit Stroll, which is a local, annual sip and shop event. I then went back to do a little holiday shopping, and have been back many times since. I am also happy that the shop continues to host a spirt stop on the stroll. Kiko + Sven is a tiny shop with a lot of cute items. Some appear handmade and other are just cute or unique. They probably have more jewelry than anything. It is mostly dainty gold and silver, some with long beads and some made from clay. They have a back wall that is full of greeting cards, and a section of toddler and baby items. There are usually quite a few candles and soaps, and a small amount of cocktail/cooking supplies. All of it calls out to me... and makes me want to spend money. They also have a rack of clothing in the shop, and usually a sale rack outside. I have bought a couple of tops and a cute shawl there in the past, but since the selection is so small, I often don't find any clothing that either is my size or style. I think it is a great shop to browse and find something unecspected. As it is very small, the times I went looking for something more specific for gifts, it has been a bit hit or miss. Their stock varies over time and you may or may not luck out. All in all, if you are shopping or eating on Adams, go check it out. It's really fun to browse and you may find something you like. Also, they will make you an account so you can put your phone number in for discounts without any coupons or solicitaitons. read more

Came into Kiko + Sven after brunch down the street. Our friend who lives in the area frequents the shop and had talked it up - and it is an amazing find. I had to control myself because I was on a limited budget and only had so much room in my suitcase for our return trip, but I ended up buying tassel earrings and what is now my favorite shirt - a pretzel print button up. The space itself is small, but I could spend hours looking at every shelf and item in their inventory. Such a great selection of home decor, jewelry, accessories and clothes. And staff there is so friendly and warm - I can be an indecisive shopper and they were patient with me. TLDR: If you want an establishment whose goal is to make you feel SMALL and UNWANTED, then this is the perfect place for you. I excitedly went to this place for a last-minute gift shopping in July of this year (2025) because of its cute picture reviews and my love for supporting local shops. As soon as I arrived, the lady did not seem welcoming whatsoever. She sat behind the counter without acknowledging me (the only customer there), which I chalked up to her giving me space to browse. Any time I would ask questions about certain items I was looking for, she would answer in an exasperated tone and strictly in a concise manner. Again, I continued to give her the benefit of the doubt--maybe she just had a bad start of her day. At some point, I finally had all the items on the counter ready for scanning but before she fully scanned all of them, I decided to choose a board game over a sock slipper instead. So, I apologized to her and explained that I wanted to replace one of the items. Upon saying that request, she continued to give the most subpar service and looked at me with disappointment/frustration(???). Feeling bad, I offered to put back the item I no longer wanted to buy which she snatched out of my reach then blurted in a flat tone, "this needs to be cleaned now." For context: It was a sock slipper I did not even try on or wear--I am still unsure whether this was their store policy or if this was due to me being an Asian woman. Regardless of the reason, it sends a demeaning message when said in such an unfriendly manner. Even after all of this, I still bought nearly $70~ worth of items because of my need for a last-minute gift. Regretful. I would NEVER come back to this place again. read more

I needed some candles and found this spot on yelp. When I arrived, I realized I'd driven by it countless times during my time in north park. Street parking around the neighborhood is easy-ish to find. Unfortunately, the owner is so unfriendly, and I feel like she judges people by appearances. Just because someone doesn't look like what you perceive your ideal customer to be like doesn't mean they're there to rob you. I asked if one of the candles she stocks is 100% soy as it's common to do soy blends. She goes "I don't know. What's on the label?" Well, the candle label was quite small and didn't note 100% or soy blend. As the "curator," shouldn't you know a bit more about what you stock? I really tried to brush off this feeling and picked out two candles for a total of $50, but the unpleasant interactions continued. When I came up to pay, she wordlessly passed me the payment device with a blank stare. I just felt so unwelcome. I had gone out of my way to visit this shop because I wanted to support local, but from now on, I'll shop online elsewhere. A disappointment. read more

I often bring friends here when they come to visit and have grabbed many a birthday gift from here. And when I'm being good, I may splurge on a plant or 4 for myself. This is a cute shop located on Adams Avenue. They a plethora of things from earrings, plants, and other cool nicknacks. It's a store where don't need anything but want to purchase everything. I had to stop myself from buying everything! A friend of mine ended up buying 3 plants. They have such amazing service. The lady who was working that day was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We were required to sanitize our hands before we enter, which was pretty awesome. Found Kiko & Sven recently driving by it on Adams Avenue. I went in for the first time today for Small Business Saturday. It was substantially smaller than I expected but oh so cute. It reminded me a little of Julian. There were tons of hand crafted items that would make perfect gifts - candles, delicate jewelry, holiday ornaments, scarves, room sprays, greeting cards and small planters. They also have a small selection of women's clothes and baby outfits. The prices are a little on the higher side. Knowing that someone made it themselves and it is their livelihood, it makes it easier to pay the price. If you do find a hidden gem, you will have something unique and pretty. read more

I still love this store, but the customer service is subpar. I love every product and it's the cutest little shop! They also have the best deal on plants as well! However, the customer service is not great. I've never been greeted when coming in the store. I was hoping the new owner would be better, but I've been in there since and it's the same story. Again, wonderful shop! Cute products! It just can use a dose of friendliness! It seems like they are bothered by the customers being there. So glad I was able to go visit Kiko & Sven for my last minute stocking stuffers! I bought the most beautiful pair of earrings and a couple of lip balms by Poppy & Pout (cutest packaging btw!). They carry beautiful home decor, cute cards, and an assortment of items for women and babies. They follow COVID protocols and I felt really safe in there even though it was a small space. It's been 3 years since I went into this little gift shop. It has a new name and a new owner, and what a find it was! The variety of gifts for children and adults is amazing. The jewelry is beautiful--lots of pieces hand-made by the owner, Brenna. Different kinds of gifts than you usually find and the prices are so very reasonable. I found this place after I went to my optometrist. It was just down the road towards the freeway and I had to make a pit stop. Just a tip, parking can be difficult especially during the afternoon. Residential parking is your best bet, but it's worth the visit! I have been here twice and I found two great finds! They have decent sales that are affordable and their curating style is very chic and modern. I love my finds! The owner and the worker were also very welcoming and accommodating. The store is quite small and they have one dressing room. I have been here during times when there's about 2 to 3 other people, so luckily it wasn't difficult to try on clothes. There's a ton of little knick knacks, jewelry, cards, shoes, clothes, and bags that would be great for gifts for friends and family. I would say that some items are a bit pricey for what it's worth but I do believe that most of them are unique and even handmade. So I do consider their price points when it comes to quality. Even with that, I would definitely come back! They frequently have sale items that are on display at the front of the store. Go and see what you will find! read more

I was exploring around looking for a gift, seems cool hearing the lady asking costumers if they have been in their store before, sounds very engaging and friendly. When it's my turn paying it was quiet, she didn't ask anything she took my card and that's it. Wow! And wow! I knew it she was going to be like that to me. I felt it and I was right. Not coming back, I felt I was in another dimension. LOVE. THIS. STORE! Every time I need to pick up a quick cute gift for a friend's birthday, I come here. You can find stuff like honey lavender lip balm for $6.00; lotions, plants, jewelry, canvas makeup bags, and candles that can start at $10-$14 and go up from there. Greeting cards are fun and trendy, and there's always a rack of clothes on sale right outside the door that I can't resist getting something for myself while I'm shopping for others. It's like the same quality stuff that you can get at Pigment in North Park or Bench in Kensington, but not as exorbitantly priced. Always find something to buy when I come by. This little shop is very cute. I get really excited when I find shops like this on Instagram, we drove 30 mins to get here. There is a small back patio that had plants and pots which really adds a lot to the store. It's a little bit giftier than I prefer meaning I can't buy the entire store for myself. The price range was a bit disappointing, I was hoping a small shop would have more competitive prices. However, even though I didn't find any deals for myself, it was a nice mix of home and garden and jewelry and clothing.
