Situated nearby Little Italy's lovely Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Rosary, this is a great addition to the eclectic shopping scene of this colorfully ethnic part of town. Of course, there are the religious candles (Velas) but there is beautiful jewelry, artsy crucifixes, prayer rosaries and holy & angel waters. There are statutes of all the holy personages. Additionally, a service offered here is a reading where spirits can be contacted in the other world. A lot of this business is done in the Spanish language, including the website but I could navigate most of it just fine, using my rudimentary Espanol skills. I am fascinated by places such as this and I really like that the items for sale are not the usual ones found in so-called religious retail stores. La Casa de Angel Omar has an exotic and South of the Border vibe to it that is so refreshing.I love how they use a lot of fresh flowers amidst their displays. Most of the place in the back and downstairs looked to have closed down, but finding this place was like finding some secret doorway into a different world. No one was minding the shop...just music blasting. Walked around and what was first a calming and holistic place, turned a bit more interesting as I walked further in. I'm spiritual as well as religious, and some of the displays and items were very different than what I'd normally see. A lot of the statues, and dolls, etc. gave me a bit of the heebie jeebies. I stopped taking photos after that, but I liked the store. It had so many different elements. Almost bought incense but didn't. Made a quick round to see the rest of the store and left. Quite an experience.

I'm guessing that's just the price you pay for Hillcrest rent. I love walking there vs ordering from some soulless online shop so it's fine with me. Other things are priced more fairly, so maybe it all evens out. They also have sales from time to time. I visited on St Patrick's day, and there was a discount on all green crystals, which was super cute. Unfortunately, the bracelet I got that day broke within 3 months of wearing it. It's my go-to shop for incense, oracle cards, and similar gifts, especially around the holidays. They do a great job carrying a little something for everyone and the staff is always really helpful if you're not exactly sure what you're looking for.

I stumbled upon this shop after visiting the shop nextdoor, and I found so many goodies here! The…read morestaff member that helped us was very welcoming and gave us lots of info/ suggestions. When I noticed the wall of loose leaf teas behind her, she quickly let me know that if I wanted a smaller batch, they have pre-packaged teas too. The tea that I chose was the 'Cramp Comfort' tea, which contains hibiscus, lady's mantle, licorice, lavender, red, raspberry leaf, fennel, cramp bark, and raspberry flavor. It's been really helpful for my period cramps too. :) You can also find crystals, incense, candles, perfumes, and oddities here. The staff member told me that they are all ethically sourced items- e.g., the butterflies and animal bones are from animals that already passed away. Lastly, I have to say, their prices are very affordable compared to other shops. I found a preserved butterfly for $10 and I got a pack of organic loose leaf tea for $8. I will be back again soon.
