Katie's knowledge about everything specifically for weddings was highly impressive. She handled everything so smoothly, without any hesitation, and was able to create the most perfect timeline of our day. The way Amber Room took care of us from the very first day to our wedding day, you could not have asked for a better place to celebrate! The day of our wedding it truly takes a village to handle a wedding, and doing it without any stress to myself, my husband, or our bridal party and even our guests was so amazing. We really could not have asked for a better group. Gina and her whole staff made sure we had anything we needed that day without hesitation.They had accommodated our guests who needed golf cart rides, to open up our asile for our wheelchair guests, to helping me with some bridal dress malfunctions. I could go on about this spot forever! Overall, We could not have picked a more perfect venue to celebrate our forever moment!! So beyond blessed for The Amber Room!

Our trail guides John was very helpful and quite pleasant, along with Kristine and Roseanne. They took extra care personally assuring each rider was comfortable during the ride. We've had a proper instructions before going for a trail ride. Absolutely a friendly energy from everyone we interacted with. The facilities were well maintained, and the horses seemed super happy and healthy. Those horses were rescued and they seem truly cared for and loved and I respect any organization that takes such care of their animals. The setup featured several food trucks including The Cod Father, Hindsight BBQ, Litchfield Distillery, and an ice cream truck. We ordered from The Cod Father and were thoroughly impressed. The lobster roll was packed with large chunks of perfectly cooked lobster claw meat on a warm, buttery roll, absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were fresh, generously portioned, and crispy. Prices were reasonable, and the service was quick and friendly. Such a great evening spot with quality food and a relaxed vibe! We will be back!

The biggest difference from what we normally do is that there was no TV or WiFi. It turned out we survived, nay, thrived without either. We drove around the historic and beautiful countryside, enjoyed a vegetarian breakfast each morning. We were given a bottle of Proseco the first night along with a bottle of home made rose brandy made by the matriarch of the family, that acted like a sleeping potion that night. It was delicious brandy made woth rose and lavender. The alpacas were a delight and I actually go to pet some and get some real closeups of these gentle creatures. Our room was rustic as all getout and incredibly clean and cozy warm. The farm is convenient to wineries, restaurants, historic New Bedford and some real beautiful lakes and woodlands. Believe me, by the time we got finished traveling around western CT all day, we just aout had the energy to go to dinner at some of the dozens of reataurants in the area (reviewed elsewhere). We plan on going back in some warmer weather so we can introduce our parrot to the alpacas. The only thing we missed this trip were the pot bellied pigs, which evedently don't take too well to the cold February temperatures and the snow.

Coming home to alpacas every day and waking up to them each morning was a real treat I think our dog had more fun than we did! If you are expecting a 5 star hotel this place is not for you. It's a loft above a barn where the alpacas stay. This place is truly for someone who is low key and just wants to relax & enjoy nature. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the shower has hot water, the AC is pumping (in mid-July with a lot of humidity), and there are fresh towels when you arrive. Sal also has a recommendation for everything so be sure to ask him about his favorite local spots! One thing I wish we did was bring a cooler and beach towels. We went to Lake Waramaug for the day and we were not prepared. Otherwise our stay on the farm was unique and relaxing!! If you like exploring nature and love the company of different animals, highly recommend you visit Bella Alpaca.

The restaurant is part of a hotel operated on an updated estate. The restaurant is located in a beautiful classic white house. The bar has stunning emerald wall coloring adjacent to a glass window. The main dining room is lovely. Top grades for atmosphere. They even have a Michelin Star for the Hotel. Other than our server having a temporary memory lapse about the flavor profile of sorrel , service was pretty much perfect. Friendly. Helpful. Efficient. For example, our server was able, at our request, to serve Belden House's famous chocolate chip cookies even though they weren't on the dinner menu. They were delicious. The food ranged from good to very good. My wife and I split (1) sourdough focaccia and cultured butter; (2) shrimp with fennel in a sorrel sauce, (3) pappardelle with pork shoulder; (4) green garlic linguine with clams, preserved lemon and sake; and (5) Short Rib with persimmons and sunchokes. The bread was very good. The shrimp had good texture and that dish was cool visually. I was a fan of both pasta dishes. They both had a nice acidity, which you don't always see with pasta dishes. The shredded pork was tasty. The short rib wasn't a highlight for me, but it was good. It had a firmer texture than I'm used to. The persimmons brought a cool shape and color, but I didn't love the flavor with the short rib. We had a great experience. I recommend Belden House for an upscale night. 4.5 Stars
