I went here for Savor Litchfield. There was parking close to the barn venue area, and more parking in the back. The barn was broken into two areas; one with a bar, one open area, and restrooms between. It's very accessible with ramps and smooth floors. It's kind of a maze but sinks in after a while. There's a smaller barn in back not as accessible and painful to walk in the very open fields during hot days, but it must be gorgeous in the fall. Great venue space, lots of room and great clean bathrooms!

ORIGIN: Entrepreneur and co-owner Ben Paletsky first transformed his family's multi-generation-owned iconic white barn into an event venue in 2011 by hosting a festival. The name South Farms pays homage to the former name of the town in which the event venue/farm is located. LOCATION: The farm is located in Morris on a quiet rural road just off of route 109. CONCEPT: Ben had developed an orientation towards innovation in his work in technology industry. This experience with reimagining possibilities facilitated his ability to imagine new uses for the family farm during a time when small farm profits are slim at best. Small Farms has become a site for picturesque social gatherings, from catered weddings to outdoor concerts. EXPERIENCE: I came across Small Farms by chance after fortuitously passing by on a summer Thursday evening in 2019. As I drove I had a glance of a fantastic sight -- vibrantly colored hot air balloons were descending. I turned off the route 109 into a rural side road and discovered a lively scene with neighbors picnicking and musicians playing under a canopy. In talking with others I learned a public social gathering like this occurred every Thursday evening. Fast forward to today, and the number of events and participants have greatly expanded, feeling more like a mini country fair, with lines of people awaiting snacks from multiple local food trucks and the field blanketed with picnickers. While I miss the smaller gatherings that seemingly magically developed through word of mouth, I am grateful that the family hosts a variety of events that allow others to experience their quintessential New England pastures and barns.

Visited during the week and tried the taco truck. I was looking forward to seeing more of the other food trucks but there was only one. It was a nice space with seating and parking; and would love to visit again when more of the trucks are there!

South Farms is a farm food park overlooking the beautiful farmland and the White Barn at South Farms. The three food trucks are Splash Mobile, Grassroots Ice Cream, Hind Sight Barbecue, and on Thursday's there is a food truck called Meraki. When I arrived I thought my friend and I would be on the farm grounds but instead the farm park overlooked the farm. When I arrived at the park I found out that it's only on Thursday's that the farm park is on the farm grounds but it was still beautiful overlooking the farmland, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The only con I would have to say that there is pollen flying around and it might get into your food and/or drinks. I would definitely come back again with family and friends.

This review is for the Pasture at South Farms food truck park, not the wedding venue part of the property. I visited the Pasture at South Farms on Friday night for the first time! It was a well-rounded selection of trucks with options for drinks, bbq, Mexican, and ice cream. Plenty of seating, and the views of the farmland are really nice! It was quiet and relaxing. Would love to come back on a night when they do live music.

Beautiful day for a wedding

Not only is the actual venue incredible but Sarah and Ben (the owners and operators) couldn't be more helpful.

That caught my attention. I'm a great lover of historic buildings. This one has enjoyed several different lives, but the newest iteration opened in 2024. The owners have paid close attention to many details that show they value the history of the building - from the furniture in the multiple small dining rooms to the reproduction wallpaper on the walls. I loved the use of large candles in the fireplaces to replicate the light of a fire. Our meals were from the Prix Fixe Menu for $50 per person. I was delighted to see later that Lost Fox Inn advertises a Prix Fixe Menu on Thursdays for $60 per person. I enjoyed the Corn Chowder soup appetizer, which was different from any chowder I've ever eaten but very flavorful. My main course was Orecchiette, a delightful maitake and shiitake mushroom pasta dish that is flavored with lemon, pecorino Romano, rosemary, oregano and topped with breadcrumbs. Dessert was a chocolate mousse topped with pickled blackberry and mint. Really delicious. We booked an early dinner and were delighted to find that we were the only ones seated in our small dining room. As the hour progressed, more and more people filled the room, and interestingly each group took advantage of the restaurant week menu (many of the items are on the regular dinner menu). The wait staff was very attentive, checking in and answering questions about the menu items. I look forward to a return visit because the food was really outstanding.

In 1968 popular musician Skitch Henderson and his wife Ruth purchased the property as a personal retreat. The couple hosted musical performances, art exhibitions, and cooking demonstrations led by prominent chefs. In later years nonprofit and national historic landmark status was established for the property. ATMOSPHERE: Events take place in a repurposed post and beam barn. The beams are exposed, giving a rustic charm. EXPERIENCE: Alessandro Piovezahn, the current steward of the nonprofit property, is actively looking to revive the Silo's influential public events. I enjoyed an intimate concert that featured the work of a five-time Emmy-award winning composer Jeff Beal. A legendary Steinway piano brought his music to life. A reception in the barn preceded the concert, with food prepared by Chef Constantine (Dino) Kolitsas of New Milford's Greca Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar I also enjoyed an evening cooking class with Chef Carlos Perez of Litchfield's At the Corner restaurant. In the course of the three hour class we were guided on culinary techniques by Chef Carlos Perez and his former colleague Chef Billy Ross (now at New Milford's Greca). I greatly enjoyed learning how to make a thoughtful fall menu that includes popular dishes served At the Corner, and dining on the co-prepared dishes with fellow foodie community members. Given limited of 16 registrants, everyone was active. I already registered for another class with Chef Billy Ross. SELECTION: Classes representing a variety of cuisines and dish types are available, including gingerbread house-making, pasta, and risotto. TIPS: Check the farm's Facebook and Instagram accounts for event schedule. The class + dinner and cocktail was $125 per person. The Silo will host a winter farmers' market this year.

I had signed up for a Saturday morning cooking class 7/3 as a gift to my wife, but had an emergency that prohibited us from attending class. My wife called the school that morning and was told it would be no problem as we could select another class over the summer. I took them at their word, but after leaving FOUR voicemail messages spanning three weeks, no one bothered to return my call. I stopped by the school and left a message with a gentleman teaching a cooking class to please return my calls, but again I was never called back. Having exhausted attempts to reach the school to schedule another class, I decided to contest the $300 charge with my credit card co for the class I could not attend. Here it is 9/29 and the proprietor has not yet reached out to me, but has decided to keep my money stating the terms and conditions. I find this business lacks ethics for a small town like New Milford. Buyers beware! Please note the 9/17 call/message was not returned.

She forced a few of our guests, seniors, who arrived 15 minutes early, to stand in the parking lot on a very hot and humid evening. Her job as the owner was to make our guests feel welcomed and comfortable, neither of which she accomplished. To add insult to injury, the two small ac units, which would be suitable for a small bedroom, provided NO comfort at all. The temperature in that place was unbearable! Caroline bombarded me with passive aggressive, negative comments throughout the evening which I tried so hard not to let bother me. Her final performance of the evening was her demand that we take our garbage with us! I WAS HUMILIATED! I was not only robbed of thousands of dollars, (yes, thousands, for 42 people, and we brought our OWN alcohol and food) but robbed of the special evening I had planned for my daughter, her dear friends, amazing family and her soon to be family, on what should have been a memorable evening Four weeks after the disappointing event that still haunted me, I sent Ms. Bossetti an email expressing my concerns. I have never received a response from her. Watertown is a small town and stories get shared and stories travel, so I'm surprised others haven't written their reviews. I wish they had, as I would not have had to waste my time writing this and my daughter would have had beautiful memories of her shower. I hope no mother will have to experience the disappointment I have"
