Quiet, excellent room, very clean (passed my UV light check too). My only complaint is the "free wifi." Free wifi does not include making you sign a 4 page contract to access their free wifi so they can have access and use all the personal data from your phone! That is not "free" instead... that is creepy af. Front staff needs better education on where rooms are located in the building or they need paper maps to hand out with keys. Front staff also needs to have a list of local restaurants or the rooms could have them displayed on the corkboard. They provide the name of the hotel for "Emergency Purposes" but the address is nowhere to be found. Room 420 light stand plug does not work... do not plug in anything after a long day expecting it to charge... it won't. read more

Let-friendly easy access off Interstate 44, this informal, all-suite hotel is about 3 miles from the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds where we were shooting photos for the North American Diving Dogs National. I requested a main floor room and the staff accommodated us with that and on the side near a grassy area to walk dogs. The parking lot is large and has some grassy spots for dogs. We picked up after our dogs but not everyone does that at this location. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was large and clean. The only thing we had trouble with was the cooktop that had a spill from previous guests and when we turned it on it smoked like crazy. We shut it down and added that to the dishwasher so we could use it the next night. Plenty of parking. It's a bit weird to enter the hotel lot, but once you figure out that your going past other hotels you'll do great. I would stay there again if I was in the area. read more

This is one of the cheaper IHG properties to stay in the North side of Springfield. It is relatively close to the airport and a 15 drive to downtown. Check in is efficient and room was clean and well equipped if you want to cook your own meals. A bit musty smelling but not too bad. Not very spacious but about what you would expect for your money. The reason I wouldn't recommend this place is the Internet is barely usable. Averaging about 3mbit/sec. It is virtually unusable to do anything than read your email. It's barely usable for web browsing depending on the website you go to. Forget about watching any videos or managing your online photo album or downloading or uploading any large files for your work. You will be frustrated. Also, no free breakfast. Only good if all you need is a cheap place to sleep with a fridge, freezer, stove and microwave. read more

Wow! I always have set my policy on restaurants by how well they keep the restrooms clean. Shouldn't have checked in. The lobby restroom looked like a Mississippi rest stop. Beyond destroyed. Absolutely filthy. The room was ok but dated. Fair for this price. Beware the fridge it was set on 9 when we checked in. Didn't realize it till we opened a frozen soda... next time we'll check it. The bed had nice linens but our night sleep was interrupted by the valley in the middle of it we had to keep climbing out of. Also because of the motion detector in the room didn't sense us in the bed the heater turns off in the middle of the night. On a 9 degree night it got a little bit chilly. Now the topper. We spent the day out and came back to the room and found out no housekeeping. The first person told us they would be happy to change out the towels. Which was fine but a person came from the back and said they only provide weekly housekeeping. Really?! Never been to a hotel that doesn't provide housekeeping on a daily basis. I told her that on the IHG website there isn't a disclaimer like that. She said there was. I tried to show her my phone where it state full service housekeeping. I admit I argued the fact a little... but never loud or scary. She called security on me.... lol WTF?! Never again will we stay here. By the way the dishwasher leaks all over the floor.... Ps. We were just passing through Springfield and stopped at this little gem. The front desk lady was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was a suite w a little kitchen and separate living room from the bedroom. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean and friendly hotel. There are a few eateries in very close proximity of hotel- you can walk to them. Steak 'n Shake- Cracker Barrel, just to name a few. read more

For the price, this hotel was very good. The staff is courteous and friendly. My room was clean but the TV remote should have been better sanitized and wrapped in plastic, as the better hotels do during the Covid crisis. Like other Candlewood Suites, my room had a nice, clean kitchen area as well as a convenient work station. The full sized refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher were all clean and in. excellent working condition. The bathroom was clean but it was missing the extra toilet paper and box of tissue, which required me to go to the front desk when I ran out of both. TV channel selection was limited in terms if premium channels but it wasn't barebones either. The hotel is also conveniently located to several decent restaurants in the city, as well as gas stations. But watch out for some awful Chinese delivery places: King's Asian Chef was shockingly horrible - the food was simply inedible and I had to throw out every dish. It isn't a luxury hotel but the cleanliness of the room was solid and I recommend it. read more

We were on day 4 of a 5 day trek to our new home with our 2 dogs and a parrot on board. It had been another long day of road tripping and we were glad to have a soft place to land. But, like the first night of our trip, the reservation I'd made was not with this actual location, but a corporate office. And, again, the fact that I had pets had not made it on to my reservation. It was not an "issue" other than my request for a 1st floor room could not be fulfilled... and we were put on the 4th. But, they had treats for my pupus and thankfully, my dogs were adaptable enough to handle their 1st, and subsequent, elevator rides with grace... and, they had luggage carts! The room was HUGE... the biggest we'd had on our whole trip. It had a full kitchen, so, if I'd known, I could have made food... All in all, a nice place... it just would have been nicer to be on the floor I requested when I booked the room. read more

Cross country trip turned into the need for a last minute, late night pit-stop for a room. We decided on the Candlewood. We were very please with the Night manager Josh. He was very pleasant and quick about things. He made good recommendations and was quick with a joke and a smile. Shout out to Josh. Also, the lobby and rooms were very clean. Not only that, they were also roomy and safe. When traveling cross country, no one likes to stop in an area that they are unfamiliar with especially when it's dark out and you can't get the lay of the land. But this had a well lit parking lot, good locks on the doors, and a night manager who gave me the impression that he was in control of his property. All in all, best compliment I can give about the Candlewood is that I would stay again and probably will plan my travels around a stop in Springfield MO read more

What a great hotel staff this place has, not to mention the quality and cleanliness of the rooms! When it comes to outstanding customer service Candlewood Suites at I-44 has it. I have dealt with the Director of Sales now for 3 years and I have not ever once had 1 complaint from her. Likewise when it comes to staying at the Candlewood there are never any issues. Customer satisfaction and safety are the number 1 priority of a hotel and here it's top notch. The front desk staff are always in a wonderful, friendly, helpful mood. They go out of their way to make you feel more at home than actually being at home. The ladies always greet you will a sincere smile, and that goes a long way. If you are in the Springfield area and you're looking for a place to stay, or if you will be traveling through the area I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Long road trip and had to take a break. This was the only hotel around the area that wasn't booked, so we had to settle. Little did we know just how lucky we were, since we have never heard of this place. This place was reasonably priced, great deal for 80 bucks. It's like a cute little studio apartment. Tastefully furnished wish modern pieces (table, chairs, and lounge chairs). it had a 2 burner stove with a pot. Utensils were also available. the bathroom was clean with EXQUISITE plush towels (you just don't get this anywhere else). Flat screen TV and free wi-fi. The bed was comfortable with decent blankets. For the price, it is a great find. Very clean and updated. I could seriously live here. Highly recommended. read more

Paid $80 for a room while traveling cross country. Very nice, quiet mid-level hotel in Springfield, Missouri. I had been driving for 12 hours when I arrived and they checked me in quickly and with friendly service. I ordered a regular room, but since they were a little slow that night I was upgraded to a suite with a full kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffeemaker, stove). Bed was comfortable and clean as well as the bathroom. My favorite part about this place was while all the other hotel chains wanted to charge me upwards of $100 to keep my cat in the room, Candlewood only charged me $25. Will be staying there if I ever end up in Springfield again. read more

We came in from the airport, because our flight was moved to the next day. We were wanting to stay somewhere close so we chose Candlewood suites. They have very little choices in place of normal breakfast, but that's understandable during Covid times. Although they did offer some fruit that was in the basket out front that was rotten. As soon as we got up to our room we noticed that every cabinet drawer every door, all the couch cushions everything in the room was turned over or open. I'm not sure if this is some kind of Covid protocol saying that the room is clean, but it looks like some kind of dorm prank. ...just weird. There were stains all over the couch that had not even been attempted to be cleaned. The room was 87 degrees when we got in and we cranked up the AC. If it weren't so late at night we would have moved rooms but we hoped it would cool down. The coolest it was 85 which felt miserable to sleep at. The front desk staff was kind enough to offer us a fan, although if we would have known that there were other rooms available or the wasn't an a problem and all the other rooms we would have moved. There were only two pillows on the bed and the room just felt dirty. Never going to stay at another Candlewood! read more

This hotel was wonderful! After a long day of driving, we stopped here for the night. We were checked in promptly and on our way to our room. The elevators are nice and smooth, which I really appreciate. The rooms are nice and updated. Very, very clean! The kitchen is a perfect size, as well as the bathrooms. The only downfall is that they only offer double and queen beds, no king beds. But for $80 a night, I can't really complain. The lobby offers a cute "check us out" cabinet with fans, kitchen appliances, and board games! What a great idea?! The only downfall is that they allow smoking and you can tell. Again, for the price? Came for a National convention. Didn't pick the hotel, but I'm so glad the couple organizing our trip picked this one! We were originally kind of surprised they chose this one since there is no breakfast on site, but the rooms have fully equipped kitchens and there is a grocery store a mile away. In the end, the stellar service, comfortable accommodations, free laundry and other amenities made the no free breakfast moot. We would totally recommend this place. Staff is extremely friendly. Soft bed. Desk in room so I could work. And the best part, free wifi and hard line Internet that actually has good speed. The rooms have a nice kitchenette, which i'm a fan of, and they are spacious and comfortable. We even had our weiner dog with us and they kept offering him treats. This is the first Candlewood Suites that I have stayed in, and it will be the last. I am staying for 30 days for work purposes, and when I went into my room for the first time there was still garbage in the garbage can from the last people who were there. It was a non smoking room, which is apparently not enforced because the room smells horrible. The housekeeping service was 3 days late (they only come once a week) and they only made the bed, they didnt change it. I have been washing my own towels and sheets now after I get off of my 15 hour shift. Now I am waiting for them to fix the sink in my kitchenette; 3 days ago the sink broke and they can't seem to keep water from shooting all over the place. This is not the place to stay. read more
