Because of some trailer repair related issues, we were forced to find a hotel room in the area while those repairs were being made. We contacted Candlewood suites and were informed that they were pet friendly and since we were traveling with a dog that made things very convenient. We were able to check in about noon and the hotel suite was very nice and clean. The entire facility was pretty quiet. Unfortunately, due to delays in the trailer repair, we had to extend our stay for a total of three days of which they were able to accommodate us and for which we were thankful. read more

I was placed in a renovated suite on the 3rd floor. Insane amount of tabletop space with the potential to separate your dining area from work area. The bed was comfy. All furnishings very sleek and modern looking. The kitchen is a great size for 1 person. They supply you dish soap and a scrubber brush, but I bought my own sponge because it was clear the brush had been used. There is a good selection of materials (pics below) and if you need something bigger like a crockpot, blender, or air fryer you can rent it from the locker downstairs. The window opens a little for ventilation. The bathroom looked nice too; there are large pumps of Jr. Watkins brand shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel on the wall. In general the room was pretty clean; I did go over the entire place with wipes to be safe though. AC noisy. The front desk and cleaning staff were always very friendly! I used laundry x3 but you have to buy detergent from the little store ($1.50 each time) which runs on honor system. It's open 24/7 and has breakfast items, snacks, ice cream etc as well as sundries. I bought an outside gym membership for my extended stay because the gym here is small and there are so many people walking in and out to use the laundry, but if you need a quick lift or run it's perfectly fine. The surrounding area is pretty packed with chain stores and superstores; Costco, Black Bear Diner, and Goodwill are next door. It was a pretty convenient location to stay off the freeway. If I had to suggest anything it would be to provide recycling! I felt so bad cooking and throwing all my plastic away. read more

Terrible Experience. Don't waste your money. After a long day of travel we didn't make it to the hotel until about 10 o'clock at night. They had given our room away which we had reserved and paid for more than a week earlier. So they gave us a room with two little beds in it and don't offer to compensate us in anyway or make any apologies for the fraud perpetrated. When we get to the room TJ here's a huge blood stain in the middle of the floor. So now we are in the middle of nowhere inn a dump hotel and it's too late Ann's we're too tired to do anything about it.... which I'm sure is what they were counting on. read more

We have just recently stayed here the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable the BIGGEST complaint I had was that Someone in the hotel was smoking cigarettes it smelled so bad in our room!! We could not even have a good nights rest. The next day I went to the desk to ask if we could move rooms and that got denied. Due to no rooms were available, my husband has asthma so he had such a hard time breathing I was upset and disappointed. THE FRONT DESK MADE NO EFFORT IN HELPING EVEN THO I MADE IT KNOWN THAT MY HUSBAND COULD NOT BREATHE WHEN HE WAS IN THE ROOM!! Oh well I guess breathing is not that important! read more

My fiancé and I had a wonderful time here at Candlewood Suites. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. I like their rooms. It has a little kitchen area and sink. It includes a large refrigerator. I don't know if that is for all he rooms but just certain ones. Very comfortable and roomy. They also had a little BBQ free for anyone staying at the hotel that weekend which was super nice of them. I would def recommend this place to stay. read more

The price was great $119 with tax for a Friday evening. Room clean, full kitchen with utensils. Direct TV with DVD player and free high speed internet. One neat thing, they have a borrow locker on the first floor that you can borrow board games, coffee pot, other items that can be of importance. Bathroom had a door and a bathroom fan!! That's a plus. :) Also the restaurant Cool Hand Luke's is next door, if you order and show your room key they give you 15% off your bill. read more

I had been on the road for two weeks and stayed here for work. Wow, what a really nice place to stay. Everything is super clean and smells great! Of course that is what you expect, but you don't always receive. The staff was super friendly from housekeeping to security to the front desk. Speaking of the front desk, Samantha you rock!!! You were so helpful and kind. Like I said I was on the road for two weeks and had laundry to do and asked Samantha where the nearest laundromat was. It just so happens you are able to do your laundry on site For Free.!.! I was not looking forward to siting at a laundromat!! While my laundry was going I needed to print out some forms for work and sure enough I was able to do that at no extra cost as well. I'm blown away for all the little things that are included with your stay! Everywhere else nickel and dime you for everything, not the Candlewood Suites. When I won this room with an accidental $65 priceline auction bid, I expected (and dreaded!) a lower strata of accomodation for the cheap price. Instead, we were blown away by this suite! Recently built in the newer section of Turlock near Costco, everything appeared brand new and completely clean in the kitchen, office area, and bedroom. Full sized refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, stovetop, cabinets stocked with plates and dinnerware, toaster, strainer, etc.. There was even a bag of popcorn staged in the microwave. Free wi-fi, free laundry room, and limitless tea and coffee. =P Outdoor BBQ, lots of parking. Only complaint was a lack of pool and continental breakfast, but the grocery store on site (and lots of nearby grocery stores and restaurants across the street) carries everything you'll need for meals. I'm assuming the price we got for the room was a limited offer due to marketing the new hotel. Either way, we were very impressed! read more

Clean hotel room with good amenities, especially for an extended stay. It was very convenient to have a fridge, microwave and stove to cook meals when we needed rather than always eating out. The room was clean and having DirectTV was nice. The only downside is no housekeeping besides once a week, which means no sheets changed and to get towels refreshed had to go to the front desk. This was not a big issue, but could be a difference maker for some. read more

The room had bed bugs which shows poor cleaning procedures for the rooms especially during this time when IHG had stated increased cleaning procedures for COVID. This hotel had cut the hours of their housekeeping staff according to the front desk even though the hotel was at or nearly to capacity. I found this out when asking for a late checkout they could not accomadate. How can a hotel increase it's cleaning procedures when at capacity cutting housekeeping by 3 hours a day? The answer is they can't, hence why they now have a bedbug infestation that was not caught due to an overwhelmed housekeeping staff, this is very concerning. Management also knew this was a problem, I had to complain several times prior to being contacted even. The hotel has a make it right policy and they gave me 5000 points or 1/4 of a nights stay, this did not even come close to making up for the nightmare I indured. My skin was on fire for a week and I had to deep clean all my belongings and car. As a spire member who spends 75+ nights in IHG hotels they treated me this poorly. I have been loyal to them for 4 years spending over $30,000 during my business travel, IHG has permanently lost my business. I also know that if I wasn't a spire member they would have fully ignored me which is what they tried to do in the beginning. read more

My two day stay at this hotel was great. Booking the hotel was super easy and so was checking in/out. I stayed in a king size room and it was very spacious and clean. There were plenty of towels and the shower even had body gel, shampoo, and conditioner. WiFi was easy to access and Direct TV had a wide range of channels to watch from. The room also had a kitchen that was stocked with utensils and basic necessities for cooking. Downstairs has a lending locker in which you can borrow items ranging from board games to blenders. There is also a snack room which has cold beverages, snacks, and cereal/bars for breakfast. The hotel trusts you to simply fill out a form and state the price of the item and quantity and it will directly be billed to your room prior to checking out. Yes, room service is not offered for a two day stay but it personally did not bother me since I prefer to have no room service. However, if you need more towels you can simply ask the staff for more. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would return to stay in the future. read more

I don't understand why the price for this hotel is normally so expensive. I come into town a lot and it normally ranges in the same price point if not significantly more than the Doubletree in Modesto which dramatically nicer hotel. The check in process was simple. The staff was friendly. There is a tv in the tiny " lobby area" which I don't understand. There is a tv in every single room so why people have to watch Sunday football in the lobby where there are only two chairs and are about 10-15 feel away from the first set of guest rooms is beyond me. I think at any given point there misnomer person working the front desk so good luck if you have a problem or if there are multiple people waiting to check in. When I first walked into the room there was a obnoxious smell of lemon cleansing product that gave me a headache. So I had to blast the AC and open the window ( mind you in Turlock sometimes it doesn't smell good outside). The beds were comfortable ( there weren't enough pillows if you ask me). The tv is a good size. I have stayed in multiple rooms here and I can tell you the noise is a problem. Last time we were by the elevator so anytime ( which was all night) someone would come or go our wall would rattle. This time we were the first room on the ground floor, so those guys watching tv in the "lobby"... Heard them, the kids running around the halls... Heard them. The laundry and mani erase being done in the storage room next to ours all night and all morning.... Heard that too. But it was all kind of drowned out because the AC was sooooo loud that nothing else mattered. My bf runs hot so we always have he AC in but I didn't get any sleep at all. I know it is like this in every room so if you are a light sleeper go somewhere else. They do have items that are loaned out to guests like crockpots and board games which I didn't borrow but I thought was a super cool idea. I would only come here again out of desperation. read more

My husband and I stayed here last night. We specifically asked for a quiet room because the night before, in a Sacramento Marriott we had been in an adjoining room and we could hear everything going on in the other room. Last night we were given a perfectly good room, but around 11:00 PM the people in the room next door kept going in and out of their room. This continued LITERALLY all night. While I realize it is not the fault of the management that these people were so rude, when we mentioned it to the brace-wearing snotty young man at the front desk, he asked my husband why we hadn't mentioned it in the middle of the night. While a fair question, my husbands answer that we just kept trying to ignore it and stay asleep was an appropriate answer. This boy said his manager was not in and there was nothing he could do to amend the price of our stay. He was quite rude, and barely took my husbands name and phone number when my husband said he wanted the manager to call HIM. NEVER GOING BACK. read more

Not impressed with Candlewood Suites for the price. This is my first time staying outside the Marriott or Hilton brand for an extended stay hotel. The other hotels for the price usually offer a free breakfast. Instead, Candlewood offers a "store" where you can buy food products. The only thing they offer free is the guest laundry services. As for the Wi-Fi, it is terrible. I am constantly having to reconnect and their router or modem keeps dropping signal. I have to reconnect several times each evening. read more

Great room and great service. The rooms are clean, nicely kept and decorated. We stayed in the suite and it felt like an apartment with a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room. The cabinets were stocked with everything you could need from plates to silverware and cups and it even had a stove top, full size refrigerator and dish washer. The best part about staying here is that they had a crib for our baby that they promptly wheeled up to our room. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Excellent accommodations and value. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and recently updated. Most of the hotels in Turlock are either near the highway or the railroad, so they can be loud. This place is pretty far from the railroad and set back from the highway, so road noise was not noticeable. The workout room was nice with treadmills, elliptical, bike, free weights and a universal bench. I didn't need to do laundry, but they have free machines. It's part of the Intercontinental chain which I like. read more

We just stayed one night but very hospitable! We took our dogs to get away from the noise of the 4th of July and it was clean and cozy best sleep I've had in weeks! Close to gas, food and shopping...they even have an onsight little shop which is not too terribly expensive for snack items and toiletry needs. The only thing I would suggest is different room notices (for the door) they are a bit small to notice and hard for house keeping to see as they tried to open our door we had put up a "do not disturb" sign and I think it was over looked. Other than that the staff was awesome even gave us some treats for our dogs! We will stay there again! Highly recommended!!! read more

Clean and comfortable rooms. I really like the bathroom, and the best part of the room is the kitchenette. Wish the hotel included breakfast, but I like the games, movies, and appliances for guests to borrow. Been here a handful of times and I've been satisfied with my rooms with the exception of the first time where the ac was a little too loud. The other stays were very relaxing not only because of the rooms, but also the maids are considerate enough not to disturb their guests before check out time.
