No hot water for a shower, extremely loud nose all night up and down, run down exterior and very unsafe parking lot

well, I have no toilet paper, no tissue. I told the guy tonight at the desk that when they cleaned my room, they did not give me toilet paper, but apparently he did nothing about it. Now it is almost midnight. I have no toilet paper I used the last four pieces of tissue and when I call the number at the front desk, it goes to voicemail. It says I cannot leave a message until tomorrow. I guess I'm gonna have to use the towels. read more

Nice and clean. Breakfast is early enough but the coffee is too strong for me. In room coffee is perfect. The staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. The location could not be better for this area. Historic downtown is not far and there is a grocery store,a few restaurants and shops close enough to walk to. read more

I was hesitant to book after reading past reviews, but I am glad I did! I had a king bedroom and the room was clean, nice updated bathroom with complimentary make-up wipes, shampoo +cond, body soap and lotion and plenty of towels. I checked in online and found a nice little welcome letter in my room upon arrival (its the little things for me). There was no microwave but there was a fridge in my room and I loved the outlets by the bedside. The breakfast was plenty w good selection (eggs, potatoes, waffles, oatmeal, cereals, breads and fruit). I was able to use the fitness center and loved that they have a water dispenser on the first floor as I only had to keep refilling my water bottle. Lasty, all the staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that my digital key wasn't working and I didn't receive a parking plaque I saw others receive. Luckily, I got 2 room keys and I never had issues with parking. there is food and coffee nearby and this hotel is right off the freeway. Great stay, will book again. read more

Clean and efficient, but not much more. The room was comfortable and clean, not luxurious but it did the job. There were a lot of noises from the hallway and neighboring rooms, the building must have paper thin walls. I would recommend the top floor and further away from the elevator if you want to reduce the chances of neighbor noise. Thankfully, the neighbors banging on things and slamming their doors all seemed to stop about 10:30. Small and basic amenities, including a big flatscreen with DirectTV and a room coffee maker that leaked out all over the desk. The beds were pretty comfortable for hotel beds, and the room was spotless. The lobby was modern and bright with a lot of tables for work or breakfast. That breakfast was disappointing, though. Maybe it's because of Covid, but everything they served was cold and individually cellophane wrapped. And generally not very tasty. Stick with milk and cereal. There's a coffee and tea station all day, too. What bothers me most was the crazy nosebleed prices. We stayed there the day of an ACT test at the Turlock high school, one of the first since pandemic restrictions began to ease. The room rate was maybe 40% higher than I feel it was worth. Coincidence? Of course not. I have trouble believing that this hotel is so much nicer than its competitors in town that it deserves the better rating it has. Makes me question the truthfulness of the low reviews for some of those competitors. read more

Husband and I stayed for a night last week. We arrived late but the ladies at check in were super super nice! It was about midnight and they were both a breath of fresh air after a long drive. Got to the room and that's where the issues were. I found crumbs in the bed and I'm pretty sure the sheets were not changed after the last guest. Next was the shower. There was hair on the shower floor. The shower floor was also stained. Almost like people constantly showering with dirty feet. Eventually we laid down to go to bed trying not to move an inch in the dirty bed and that's when we heard the guy snoring next door. The walls are so soo sooooooo thin! We heard anything and everything from our neighbors. Two starts are for the ladies working check in. Don't recommend. read more

VERY clean, modern property. The front desk and breakfast area were spotless. The guy at the front desk was courteous and friendly. He checked us in quickly and really made us feel at home. Our room was spotless and, again, very modern. We had a 42 flat screen running Direct TV. The shower was stall was large enough for 3, if you swing that way. :-) Our king bed was comfortable. And, there were USB ports EVERYWHERE! There's a fridge, blow dryer and iron in the room. Standard fare. The fitness room was a good size and, again, very clean. The only downside to this hotel was the location. There's not much around it except for a CVS and a Jack in the Box. It's right next to the freeway, so you have easy access to driving to restaurants, just nothing walking distance. That's fine, though, given how great the actual property is. This is definitely a place we'd stay at again. read more

Booked 2 rooms for the weekend for my family a few days prior to check in. Called to confirm reservation a few times. Each time was told that our rooms will be ready by check in. Even called 1 hr. before. Checked in and once we got to the rooms, noticed right away they were not the rooms we reserved. Called front desk and they blamed Expedia. Called Expedia and they confirmed that the hotel made the mistake and gave us the wrong room. That they will be filling a complaint against the hotel too. If it wasn't for all the hotels being sold out we would of demanded for this be fixed immediately and provide us the correct room but again they were completely sold out. That doesn't mean they didn't get an earful from us and bad review. What kind of hotel just gives away your reservation and then doesn't have the courtesy to inform you that the room is not available? Even when we checked in, the front desk (Corina) didn't mention once that our reserved room was not available. When I complained, she actually tried to tell me that she couldn't find our reservation for that room and tried to make it seem as if it was my fault , that maybe I booked the wrong room and Expedia's fault. Really poor customer service when you lie and blame the customer for your mistake. Not staying here again! I actually thought this hotel was much better than the Hampton Inn for it's more modern appeal, but honestly they have much better quality customer service and really go above and beyond to accommodate your stay. Don't recommend staying here unless you make sure that what you are reserving is exactly what you are getting and you are willing to spend 2 hours trying to remedy the problem that they made. We have stayed here quite a few times now and each time seems to be a better experience. The entire place is very clean, the staff is nice and helpful and the rooms are spectacular! Highly recommended and you will not break your bank staying here. Breakfast is provided from 6-10 am and they always have cookies and snacks in the lobby all hours of the night. Maids also do a very good job cleaning. Nose level is also good, we mostly choose a room on the 3rd floor and they also have an option for Hilton members to use their app/phone as their room key which is really great! read more

I totally understand, the little acknowledgment from her made me know she was aware I was there and that's all I needed. Right off the phone she helped me and after giving my name she went to work. The rooms are nice, but I spent $200 and got absolutely no rest last night. Checked in at about 9 pm on a Saturday night, 04/16. Was assigned to the 3rd floor, in an even-numbered room. The window faced the back of the nearby Save Mart shopping complex. Immediately I could hear a loud live band playing. Ok, it's Saturday night. I'm hoping it will wrap up at 10 pm. At 10:30 pm it was still going. I called the front desk at about 11:30 pm and asked if they had any suggestions because it was so loud that sleeping was not possible. They said they were sorry, and that other guests were letting them know it was disturbing them, too. They said they were calling it in as a noise complaint to the police. It continued past midnight. I had to have the fan running all night to dampen the noise a bit. I know the hotel did not cause the noise, but beware of the location's potential for loud noise and bring your own earplugs. I wish I had packed some. read more

Reading the most recent reviews made me iffy about booking a room here, but I took a chance and booked it for our stay. Front desk was nice and room was clean. It wasn't outdated like stated below and I made sure to triple check for bed bugs (no bites here). But I'm only giving 3 stars because spending $200+ for just one night and there was no microwave in the room. I know, it's just a microwave but even a cheap motel has one in their room. They have all other amenities and breakfast is until 10AM so there was no rush to go down to get the breakfast you paid for. read more

We decided to spend the night at this Hampton Inn based on our previous stays at other Hampton Inn's. Unfortunately, this hotel needs some immediate help which many California companies are having challenges finding, Although relatively new, here are a few of our experiences: No hot water in the shower, elevators were not operating, requiring that we walk up the stairs to reach our second floor room, Fire/sprinkler alarm went off at 6:00 AM, shower was not clean, breakfast was underwhelming and no one was at the front desk when I went to speak about our stay. The employees were generally pleasant and friendly but maintenance and management needs to improve. read more

The only downside is the walls were a little thin, with noises and banging doors, people stomping down the hall at 4:00 am. Despite this I would definitely stay again. read more

My guests had the BEST time!!!! In March things like water bobbles, we're going out of stock and we Wanted to make sure each guest had one, we ran to Costco but no luck, the Hampton inn didn't even skip a beat and offered their water bottles to all our guests with no additional costs! They were kind, helpful and did an amazing job!!!! We booked a conference room to open gifts in and when they saw us cleaning up (it was a mess as there was wrapping paper everywhere) they immediately stepped in to help!! This is my second time this year staying at this hotel. It is a gem in the central valley. There is plenty of parking and they are located right off the freeway. When you come into the hotel the front desk staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and they have flavored water available in the lobby along with fresh cookies. The rooms are clean, large and very comfortable. They have a work desk with a lamp and plugs on top for easy access to charge your devices. The wifi works great and they have a couch along with a fridge, coffee maker and large screen tv. The bathrooms have nice towels, large shower and is clean. They have a full delicious breakfast in the morning and a gym. Will definitely be staying here again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We were in town for a family reunion and many of us stayed here. They were kind enough to offer to let us use the conference room area after the reunion and bring our food and drinks down Sat night so we could continue our get together. The staff, in particular Kristen, were all so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very beautifully decorated. Also, having a mini fridge, coffee maker and so many accessible plug & USB ports just made the stay all the better. The lobby was so nice, too- cookies, lemonade and fresh fruit available to guests. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very nice young lady at the front desk. I explained that I have difficulty sleeping and would appreciate a room far away from the elevators. She was extremely accommodating and provided me with a room on the top floor, at the end of the hallway away from the elevators, and facing the back of the property instead of the freeway. I certainly appreciated her consideration. The first thing I noticed when I entered my room was the odd layout. You can see by the picture that the bed does not face the television which makes it impossible for two people to watch TV while lying in bed. The room did have a chaise lounge which faced the TV, which was nice. The bathroom was very clean, no mold whatsoever. The shower temperature, however, could have been much better. I had to turn the water to its hottest setting in order to be comfortable. PROS: The hotel was very clean, offered complementary Wi-Fi and breakfast, as well as complementary parking. Their pool is heated as well. CONS: The walls are extremely thin. I could hear everything in the hallway, making sleep difficult. The location is decent, however, if you travel a couple exits north, there is a much nicer area that has hotels with every kind of restaurant and shop you can think of (Monte Vista exit). Next visit to Turlock I will stay in this other area just for convenience purposes. read more

Great hotel. Well-designed and efficient, with happy staff, good free breakfast, clean, comfortable and quiet rooms, a decent fitness center, and plenty of small details that make travel easier. I come to this area often to visit family. On previous trips, I've had bad experiences with dirty or noisy hotels, so arrived early and drove around town to find the best possible option. After driving past half a dozen and calling more than ten, Hampton had the best rate and gave me a discount when I asked (AAA FTW!). I noticed they had no Yelp reviews, so I took a chance figuring I would at least get the first review, even if the hotel was a miss. The first--and only--bad experience happened on the walk into the lobby. The parking drive through was taped-off because some boneheaded driver in a more-than-thirteen-foot truck attempted to drive through the clearly marked less-than-thirteen-foot clearance. He did some serious damage to the overhang. I did not get to see how the truck made out, but I suspect it got the worse end of the deal. Inside, the lobby is clean, sleek, and modern, with a hangout area, big TV, and small business center with new computers. Room is super clean and new, with packaging folds still visible on some of the linens. In spite of proximity to Highway 99, very quiet. USB and regular plugs everywhere you might need them for a host of phones, laptops or other devices (so many hotels are ignorant to the idea you might want to plug your phone in on the nightstand while you sleep). Neutrogena products in the bath, modern wood-grained tile, subtle night light if you can't wait until morning to go. Bed was very comfortable, thermostat easy to set, great water pressure, abundant pillows, huge, new Samsung TV with DirecTV, blackout curtains. Pretty much every basic need anticipated in an efficient, minimalist fashion. Fully booked, but it was still a quiet night. Breakfast was not expansive, but perfectly adequate. Make-your-own waffles. Enough said. Roomy gym for a hotel like this. Stretching for things to complain about--my door didn't shut unless I pulled it closed (came back and found it open, with a valuable computer--thankfully--still inside), lack of dairy options to go with the good selection of morning coffee. In general, I'm a Marriott gal, but they we're sold out in Merced where my family lives. Plus Side Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond. EVERYONE was polite and greeted me with a smile. I called for extra shampoo and conditioner and it was delivered to the room within 3-5mins...so prompt can be added as well. Decor is new. Great color scheme. Aesthetically pleasing. In room air conditioner with many options. Breakfast was included with each stay. It was meh. It's the same no matter which hotel you stay at with breakfast included. Free wifi. Security. We ordered pizza delivery to my room. I got a call from the front desk asking if the pizza person could deliver. Sheets were spotless. Pure white. Parking. Plenty of it. Location. Easy to find right off the freeway. Down Side HOT! Dear Lord! It's 100 degrees outside. Air in the lobby was not too bad = a little less than comfortable (78 if I took a guess). Air in the elevator and the 2nd floor hallway = unbearable! Thick and wet as dragon's breath. At least it was in an area that we weren't spending much time. Cleanliness. On the surface the room looked pretty good. Not sure how some hotels get it right and some don't. But there were hairs everywhere. And they weren't mine or my kid's. Pubic hairs in the restroom. (Not possible they are mine). Chewed gum in the night stand. Hairs in and on the sink. Crumbs in the corners. Sound. Walls are THIN! Someone dropped something on the floor in the room above us in the middle of the night; scared us awake. Cleaning people were vacuuming next door and it sounded like it was in the same room. Since being a Hilton honor Gold member I always stay at Hampton Inn suites when on road trip. This location is actually only 2 years old. The modern flare continues through out the entire property. The front desk gal was very friendly and so sweet she immediately offered bottle waters and asked how the drive in was. The room was modern decor toiletries coffee machine mini fridge. I don't care much for the Ac unit it's very loud and doesn't seem find the right temperature either warm or ice cold. The bathroom had a bathtub shower it's good size. Hampton Inn staff and new modern look is worth the great price. read more

My family and I booked a room with two beds. There was ample parking outside. Tania made the check-in process very smooth. She was very kind towards my family and I. In the evening, I walked down to get some snacks and she informed me that I had two options, complimentary and purchase. Tania made me complimentary goodie bag for my daughter and I helped myself to some fresh baked cookie. They were good, by the way. Our room was very clean and the t.v. had good channels. Breakfast was okay since my husband said some of the options were: eggs, sausage, and roasted potatoes. He wanted some bacon. Our check out process was also smooth but I kind of missed seeing Tania's face since she had such a great attitude. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel. This is seriously one of the nicest stays in a hotel I have ever had. Stayed last week overnight for a wedding, and that was just one of many pros to staying here as it was only four minutes driving distance from the venue. Check in was smooth, room was very nice and clean with spacious bathroom and shower, and a very comfortable bed. Also had a big flat screen TV. Immediately before I left for the wedding the lady behind the desk asked if my stay was ok which was so nice. They offer you free water which is another bonus, and the continental breakfast was very good. Kayla at the front desk was so incredibly nice. When we arrived at this Hampton, it was around 7pm, and the check-in counter was empty with a sign that said someone will be back soon, so we waited about 20 minutes. That has never happened to us before. I booked a reservation for a Friday, but the Hampton accidentally booked us for a Sunday night, so when we arrived on Friday. We did not receive an email confirmation, so I did not think about double checking the dates. That has never happened to us before either. Sadly, The Hampton was booked so we could not get a room for Friday night. The reservation clerk told us to try the hotel next to them, but they were booked too. The hotel clerk next door, at Home2 Suites, let us hang out in their lobby and gave us free wifi, so we can look for another hotel. Unfortunately, we called 6 hotels, and they were all booked for Friday night. One hour later, we finally found a hotel with a room about 15 minutes north. read more
