Very clean, safe and relaxing. An absolute delight of a place!! I felt profound peace being there. The pool was lovely and the garden too. The staff at the coffee shop were immaculate and the gardeners super friendly. I would highly recommend this place. The Wi-Fi had a bit of an issue of connecting but aside from that the experience was nice since we still had cell service. Also, the train passes through there, so just something to be mindful of. But definitely a nice getaway and very safe at night since the gate closes when the cafe closes. You also drive up directly to your door when you get to your room. I heard also that they have private events here where you can rent the whole place out which I would consider in the future. read more

Not a bad place at all. The rooms are nicely appointed and seem well maintained. The grounds are well maintained and nice to hang out if it's not too hot. When I checked in late in the evening I found that the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned and the bottle of water in the room had been previously opened. Thinking there wouldn't be anyone on site sent an email and within a few minutes got a response and within a few minutes more another bottle of water and extra pods were dropped off at my door. Very quick response. Site does not have an ice machine. read more

Everything about this hotel is a 4 star hotel. Feels new, clean and well furnished. Only issue is a train that comes by around 1am 2am 3am Thursday morning, maybe it comes different times in the week? I'm a night owl so didn't really bother me but it's something to note or have ear plugs in before bed. I'm still planning to come back since this hotel is pretty nice! read more

Be aware that this property is located next to train tracks and very close to the highway, so it's extremely loud and difficult to sleep. During my stay, someone even tried the door handle to enter the room, which was unsettling. Because the property is self check-in and communication is messaging only, there isn't anyone on site to address situations like this. They provide plenty of ear plugs, but only two cups of coffee, one robe, and a single eye shade--even though the room is very bright--so it seems set up with the expectation of only one guest per room. Just something to keep in mind when booking and packing. read more

I must say that my husband and I were both very pleased with our short stay. We babysat our granddaughters until almost midnight. I was concerned that we may have difficulties getting in the gate at that late hour and called the number provided only to be assured if we had any issues to call back. No issues at all. The room was very clean and the bed was beyond comfortable. I'm actually going to purchase the down comforter and pillows. The nespresso machine was a lovely touch and I had a REALLY hard time not taking all of those exceptional snacks. The grounds were beautifully manicured and parking in our own little garage made it homey. We thought that the train may be an issue, but it was not. Good sound walls to minimize the noise. We will definitely be back when visiting the kids. read more

Also paid in full prior for one of my employees coming to work from out of town. they made her pay a addl 250 deposit. They didn't say anything to me when I paid in advance the day prior. Never seen this before ,, Also not easy to get into your room at night. The door key odd is bk and didn't light up. U need a code to go park your car when you arrive. The good is it's got a great hip vibe. Looks nice for the low budget they had. Hopefully they can fix the negatives. Stopped by hotel Bayit and their new coffee shop, matriarch, today for the first time. To say this place is a hidden gem would be an understatement. It looks like a hotel taken directly out of Santa Barbara or Napa Valley areas. Beautiful established olive trees, lush, green hedges, and a neat, clean landscape make this place both inviting and comfortable. It's clear this is a local family's vision that has come to life. My wife and I both had a vanilla latte which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We also realized that a local artisan pastry maker named The Flakey Pastry is supplying them as well. We had to try the turnover which was delicious. Overall, we will continue to support them and refer both the hotel and café to our family and friends. read more

Stayed here for just one night, a little over a week ago. The room was so cute. What I loved about staying at hotel Bayit most was, how private it was. It's gated. It's beautifully decorated. It has parking spaces for $10.82 a night. They have a gym and a coin laundromat. During fall/winter I would recommend turning on the heater in the hotel; it was chilly when we entered the room. However, the bayit team was kind enough to show us how to work the heater. Other than that, the bed was nice and comfortable. And you could watch anything you wanted on the tv. Lighting was great. They even left us treats and a kind welcome note! :)) Hopefully we will be able to stop by again. Thanks you guys! read more

I really wanted to host my wedding reception at Hotel Bayit - it would have been the perfect venue. I was even considering a full buyout and additional packages. Unfortunately, I'll be moving forward with another location due to the lack of communication. We've been averaging about one response per month (8/28, 9/25, and 10/21). I even tried stopping by in person to finalize details and move the process along, but was told I'd receive an email follow-up, which never came until I reached out again via Instagram. While the Instagram account was initially responsive, the same pattern continued afterward. Most recently, I requested a supervisor or manager's contact for the event team and was left on "read." I'm not sure how others are successfully booking events here unless they have a direct connection to ownership. Each time I receive a reply, it's nearly identical to the last, with promises of additional information that never actually arrive. Communication and follow-through are critical when planning events, especially weddings, and venues book quickly. It's disappointing, but I can't continue to delay the process and will need to move on. read more

Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else. This used to be a motel six and very much still gives those vibes after having to deal with the owner. You can put makeup on a pig, but it's still a pig. Meaning, this "luxury resort" is right across the street from the train tracks. There is no soundproofing and it's so loud that the walls vibrate. The entire process of booking is done online and very confusing. After reading their policy guidelines, that said nothing about our children not being able to swim even though they weren't the ones spending the night, we were told that we had to leave. Even if we wanted to book another room to accommodate our six people family. (4 kids and husband and I) we would've had to book 2 separate rooms. this is a private owned business and they have a lot to work on before they can call themselves a luxury resort.. there is no privacy in the bathroom because the tempered glass door isn't enough for one and for two. The door isn't even on the tracks and has a big crack. Also weirdly enough, the toilet is located in the shower. I can see how some people might like to shit where they shower, but definitely wouldn't consider that a luxury... it's kind of silly to call your place a luxury hotel when you're at a glorified motel six. They have a gated entry that's hard to get in and trust me. They need it because it's located right between a mobile home park and a house of liquor where homeless people wander all over Salida. DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE! read more

Thoughtful details made the hotel comfortable and helped meet our needs. Parking next to your room was convenient. The coffee was so good. The music playing when we arrived was a nice touch. The double beds were too small for two people but very comfortable otherwise. The curtains are quality but the outdoor lighting is right outside the window so it's bright in the room at night. The pool was a good size but hours were inhibiting. The pickle ball area was a nice touch. The floors were freezing but there was a rug. The bathroom door didn't close all the way so not great privacy. The location is in a weird place amongst warehouse's right off the Salida freeway but this may be convenient for travelers passing through. Once inside the gate you are in a beautifully landscaped haven. read more

TLDR; I am deeply disappointed with my stay at Hotel Bayit and the customer service I received from Vanessa, the hotel concierge. I felt disrespected as a guest and will not be booking here again. My partner and I booked a room for two nights. After the first night of our stay, my partner and I decided we were uncomfortable staying at the hotel and booked a different hotel for the night. Since we did not stay at Hotel Bayit for the second night, I emailed the concierge requesting a refund for that night, and checked out using a link sent by the hotel. Twenty minutes later, I received an email from the concierge asking us to go more into detail regarding our experience. I emailed them about: first walking into the overwhelming smell of bleach so bad that I had to go out and buy a plug-in air freshener to mask the scent, the comforter feeling rough against our skin, and the hot water going out after 5 minutes of my partner's shower leaving me to shower in ice-cold water. All I wanted was a refund for the second night and for the hotel to take advantage of our feedback to improve their business. After sending my reasoning, I received no response. I had other concerns that came up the same day because I received another email to view my bill for the hotel and pay it in person; this confused me because I had already been charged for my stay after booking weeks ago. I was also not made aware that I would be charged $250 as a pre-authorization fee, which I think is necessary to inform your guests of at the beginning of their stay. The next day, I called the concierge to directly address and discuss my concerns. Vanessa answered the phone and confirmed that she received my email the previous day. She began expressing how she wondered why the room would smell like bleach as the hotel "prides themselves on being eco-friendly" and seemed to be defending the fact that it shouldn't have smelled that way. She also addressed that if the hot water ran out, there must have been too many people using it and that the hotel's 30-gallon water heater needed an hour between showers to re-heat. While booking the hotel, this information would have been helpful to know. During our phone call, I disregarded the concerns included in the email or the refund for the second night. I simply wanted to be refunded that $250 and reassured that the second charge would not go through. Instead of providing proper customer service, Vanessa made a very back-handed comment to deflect from the main problem and said "What did you guys spray in here? it smells like someone dumped cinnamon all over the carpet." She repeated herself once again mentioning the hotel "prides themselves on being eco-friendly and only uses eco-friendly supplies." Once again, I was not made aware of this either on the website or through the abundance of emails they sent before our check-in date. At this point, I was extremely aggravated and felt invalidated as a guest. I felt responsible to redirect the conversation back to the main problem of the pre-authorization fee and the second charge because it was clearly not Vanessa's focus. I had to ask her if she would take care of the second charge and when I should expect the refund. I should not have had to provide my own patience to deal with this during my stay, especially when Hotel Bayit is in the hospitality industry and "At Hotel Bayit, every detail is meticulously crafted to ensure your stay exceeds expectations." It doesn't matter how luxurious you make yourself look in pictures or if you display a Tom Ford book. If Hotel Bayit desires to strive in the hospitality industry, they need to improve their customer service and guest relations. read more

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! It is brand new, luxuriously furnished with a lot of taste and practicality at the same time. The hotel is just off Hwy 99, a short 10-min drive to nice restaurants, cafes and bars downtown Modesto. Check-in and check-out is contactless, but when we had a slight issue at check in (my fault for misreading some information) and called the owner, it was solved over the phone in less than a minute. There was nice, soft music welcoming us upon entering the room, which was clean, well-lit, and spacious. I even got to use the swimming pool the next morning even though it was the middle of winter because it was heated. As the cafe on location wasn't open, the owner recommended breakfast at Lucille's, downtown Modesto, and we loved it so much there that after a delicious breakfast and a drive through the blossoming almond trees, we went back there for lunch! We will definitely return to Hotel Bayit if we come back to Modesto. AMAZING, thank you Vanessa!!!! read more
