They reserved our spot and we signed the contract via email. I dropped off the check at their mail box. done! It has floor-to-ceiling glass windows/walls that provide great views of the bay and blue sky above. Our guest list was pretty small, so we had tons of extra room, but the set-up staff made it work really well, filling the space with extra bar tables and couches with coffee tables to provide a variety of areas for mingling and lounging. Between the patio, the main dining area, the dance floor, and the bar/lounge areas, our guests had tons of space and options, and they used it all. We had our ceremony here, too. The fountain provided a very nice backdrop, and the balcony allowed our photographer to get some neat shots of the ceremony and all our guests from above. We were lucky to have pretty much perfect weather on our big day, and our guests couldn't stop talking about the view. They loved taking pictures on the patio with the bay and blue sky behind them. Both prior to and on the big day, Allison was great to work with. She was easily accessible via email, quickly answered any and all questions, and was very friendly and accommodating. On the day itself, the setup and catering/bar staff members were great, too. They were efficient, friendly, and helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, both at the tasting and on the wedding day. Many of our guests shared how much they enjoyed the meal - especially the ice cream sundae bar! On the booze front, we provided the alcohol and mixers for the bar, which likely saved a lot of money; the corkage fees were very reasonable and the bar staff were friendly and kept the drinks flowing. Overall, CSM and Pacific Dining were a great choice for us. Having our wedding at a college felt a little unorthodox at first, but it suited us so well. You walk into a large naturally lit lobby, with local event flyers and news on display, as well as Millbrae branded merch (hats, shirts, etc) for sale. There is a reception desk with staff there to help and answer any questions. I came specifically to pick up a custom SF Giants Kleenex box that I ordered at the recent Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. We were greeted by Laurie, who was very friendly and told us all about what they had to offer at the Rec. Center. Just behind some glass doors near the lobby, is a game room. This is mostly targeted towards kids, with a giant TV and various video game systems to play with. We saw around a dozen kids hanging and playing in this area as we walked by. As you continue down on the first floor, there are classrooms, conference rooms, and even a giant hall that can be rented in full (or half) for private events! They also have a kitchen connected, which is helpful for events serving food. There are several clean and accessible bathrooms, as well as lots of fun historic photos on display. They have a Fitness Center with various equipment, and space for aerobic classes. There's also a room dedicated entirely to Ping Pong! If you get hungry or thirsty, there are two vending machines with drinks and snacks, and several water fountain/refill stations throughout. There is also an entire upstairs area. In addition to private rooms, there is a "Senior Lounge" which has comfortable seating, a large TV, and a half-kitchen. There is an outdoor patio connected up top with over a dozen lounge type chairs to enjoy some fresh air. They also have space for outdoor activities for people of all ages. There are multiple playgrounds for kids, in addition to multiple tennis courts and a large field. The Rec. Department also oversees many other fields (school and other) and a skate park, according to their website! If you live in (or near) Millbrae, you gotta check out this Rec. Center! There is a ton to do, it's super bright and clean, and the staff is all very friendly and welcoming! I'm looking forward to coming back again and utilizing some of these amazing features!

I have finalized my garden makeover by mid summer. Came by…read morefor the second time dropping off 2 healthy euonymus. I saw 3 small euonymus plants that I surrendered 2 months ago. They are trimmed and look super happy (new growth with dozens leaves are burst to open). When I dropped them off; part of the leaves are dried since I wasn't able to deliver them right away after they were taken out. This is the reason that this place exist-because the volunteers passionate and know how to take care of the plants. I witness how they nurse the plants that I gave away. This must be love. For most people; these plants are unwanted and would end up in compost. They group them together with the same species in the table for sale. They price the smaller one $4.50 and 2 of the mediums $10/ each. Come and support this business. Everyone would benefit; whether you are giving away plants or buying.
