I would not recommend this place at all. Went there two times the door was locked employees were inside. Finally someone came to the door, barely cracked it open and abruptly asked if I had an appt. I said no I didn't realize it was by appt only. So okay that's fine. She was not friendly at all and took my info down and asked me every detail of what I needed. Plus my personal info then tells me someone will call Me to set up an appt. (Not sure why she couldn't make me an appt as she had no client at her desk.) Made me feel as if I was a bother and that she was doing me a favor by talking to me. I left her with all my info over a week ago and no one ever contacted me. Which is fine because i booked with a Conpany that made me feel comfortable and were appreciative of my business. As a business owner myself it just shows how important it is to treat clients with respect and not acting like you are annoyed that they want to do business with you. read more

Kristi booked a male travel companion and myself in a double room after two traveling companions, male and female, backed out of the trip. I had requested a single room after my friend backed out, but when we arrived at the hotel in Rome, we were told we were booked together! Kristi never told me that my male friend and I would be rooming together. When I texted her she referred me to Candy who was useless, telling me I would have to check at each hotel to see if they had single rooms, which, of course, they didn't. Both Kristi and Candy were of no help and I would never recommend them! read more

Elizebeth at Candy's Carefree Travel to the rescue! I was having a tough time navigating the web trying to find a reasonable airfare for the holidays. I remembered that CCFT had done such a great job arranging plans for my honeymoon I decided to give them a call. Elizebeth, one of the Travel Consultants there, found me a great fare in minutes. I drove down to her office in the McHenry Village and she had me all set, got the days I wanted travel on, at a better time of day and she saved me over 250 bucks too. Courteous, friendly and professional service and stress free for me. And, I have a real live human being to talk to for questions instead of some computer. I highly recommend coming here. A friend and I are starting to plan a trip to Italy next year and heard of a tour through Globus. Since I was near Candy's Carefree Travel I called to ask if I could stop by and pick up a brochure from Globus so that I could check it out. Well, the attitude of the woman who answered was unbelievable! After questioning me thoroughly and not really wanting to help me, she finally said "yeah, come on by if you want to use us as your library!" Not only would I never set a foot in that office, I will telll everyone I know not to bother with Candy's. What arrogence!!!!! If they were smart they would been happy to help & have me stop in. The lady on the phone didn't sound like she liked her job so it didn't surprise me one bit that I NEVER got a phone call back about anything. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. I was invited by friends in CA to join them on a cruise to Alaska. We live in the Seattle area. I contacted Caren with the travel agency and received "above and beyond" customer service. She answered all of my questions and got us booked on the same deck level as our friends. I had the itinerary within a couple of hours and everything on it was as we discussed and agreed to. Deposit made and we are now looking forward to the upcoming cruise. I would and will definitely use Candy's, specifically Caren, for future travel arrangements. read more

My husband and I had a trip planned for 2 weeks in Portugal. I went in a few weeks ago to get a quote on possibly staying at a different hotel other than the Ritz Carlton that we booked. Maria was the one to help us. From the start she wasn't very helpful and actually quite rude. Im not sure if it was because we were a younger couple or because she was just in a bad mood so we decided to just keep our plans and not change them. Fast forward a few weeks and I went in to talk to someone about possibly flying to Paris while we are in Portugal, unfortunately Maria was the one to help us again. I told her she had helped us last time and with a total attitude she says "well why didn't you book w me then?!" Then I explained to her we decided not to change hotels and she actually rolled her eyes at me! So I go on to tell her I need a flight from Portugal to Paris on the 17th and within just a few seconds she looks at me and says "it will be over $600" and then I went on to tell her our friends had actually booked a roundtrip flight for about $150 each then she says "yea you need to go online to easyjet.com if you want that flight" and I said "you don't do that here?" Then she says "yea sometimes but we'll have to charge you a booking fee of between$35-$75" and stands up like she is prompting me to go, so I did. I couldn't believe how unhelpful and rude she was. I was more than willing to pay the booking fee, but she didn't even offer! You would think that she would go out of her way to help but actually she didn't seem to care at all! So I drove over to their competitors and booked my flight through them w their help! I actually had booked my entire wedding party w Tara through this company 2 years ago and I was so happy w everything unfortunately both times Tara wasn't there when I went in. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN AND I WILL MAKE SURE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY DOESNT EITHER! MARIA IS THE WORST. read more

The vacation planned for me by Candy's was the worst I've ever had. Lots of misinformation from the agent and poor planning made travel connections a disaster, which resulted in my losing precious time and money. Don't try to recoup losses through the insurance company they recommend because you won't get it. They will make your life miserable, eventually you just take the loss. read more
