The park is on 12 acres donated in 1955 by Lloyd and Katherine Smith. Since 1955, the park has grown to include 3 baseball diamonds, a basketball court (of course, this is Indiana), a playground and picnic pavilion. The are several small buildings including a concession stand and restroom facilities (which open seasonally). There are two sets of swings that in the playground including special need and infant swings. The two climbing structures have slides and a few interesting games such as tic tac toe. The equipment is clean. There was no one in the park on a beautiful March afternoon. There is one concrete sidewalk that crosses the park and other paths are gravel. The parking lot is gravel as well. Pushing a stroller or wheel chair is doable but somewhat awkward in some directions. In the summer, the park is bustling with baseball games. The park is also host to several events including markets. The pavilion can be rented for private events. The website is a good resource for getting information. Inside there were sturdy tables and chairs set up, along with a bar and kitchen area that made the space really functional for hosting. Overall, it's a nice, simple venue and definitely a good option to keep in mind if you're planning an event.

The building is located at the west end of town on Hwy 52. The Lions Club also has meetings and events of their own that they put on for fundraisers, such a fish fry. And during the summer you can usually find a farmers trailer parked in the cornder selling all types of fresh picked vegetables, such as ears of corn in the shuck, tomatoes, watermelons, squash, zucchini, and much more!

Kuntz Memorial Soccer Stadium is a longtime presence in the Riverside area. It's fairly close to…read morethe once again growing Riverside Park area along with the Waterway area (think Amp). While it falls under Indy Parks, it's managed by Riverside Sports Properties. Kuntz is considered one of Indy's premier outdoor soccer facilities with a long history of hosting local, regional, national, and international events. The stadium has two FIFA regulated game fields - 120 years in length, 75 yards wide with a championship field that can seat 5,257. It also has four newly renovated player locker rooms, an official's room, a press box, and a VIP conference room overlooking the Championship Field. In 2024, plans were announced to transform it into primarily rugby use. I think that remains to be seen, though it's had some resistance from the neighborhood. That, for me, speaks to the value of the stadium to the area as it has always been a stadium that has partnered with local groups including leagues - Central Indiana Amateur Soccer League, IHSAA, and a number of youth and high school soccer programs. The stadium is also the home of Indianapolis Alleycats, a professional ultimate frisbee league. So, how is it? First off, the complex really has been receiving some love as of late. For awhile, it was pretty run-down. However, it has been spruced up and looks appealing. The parking lot is a good-sized lot and it's fairly easy to find accessible parking. The bleachers, of course, have definite limitations in terms of access. Getting around the stadium itself is pretty accessible. The area itself is growing to a certain degree. It is still a mixture of tech, industrial, and a few non-profits utilize some office sections nearby. Kuntz is probably one of my favorite of the mid-range sports facilities in Indy. I used to get over here more often than I do these days, however, I'll still occasionally stop by for local events. I've also attended an Alleycats match. I tend to like smaller events - bigger stadiums can get a bit overwhelming. This is a modest-sized, easy to access stadium with some great options for soccer and occasionally other sports.

There is some parking along the field and then more within a short walking distance. There is a grandstand on the west side of the field but when we got there at 5:10 it was already restricted. So we parked on the East side of the field, it was slightly harder to hear but we participated in the National Anthem anyway, keeping pace and tune with those around us because we couldn't hear the speakers on the Grandstand well. The restroom situation is port-a-johns on the East side of the field, I don't know if they have "real" bathrooms on the West side (buildings are all on that side) it's a huge field and it was too much to walk it. If you're going with a group at least one car should commit to getting there at 5:00. Bring all your tailgating gear (tent, tables, coolers) and enjoy the match!

There is an old grassy creek park that I went to first, I had to keep driving east to find this spot. The kids enjoyed themselves. They have an area for littler kids, not much shade in this area. They have a treehouse that has a slide. My kids enjoyed the zip swing and had fun pushing each other. They have swinging benches, shelter with charcoal grill, and the floor is turf. It is a pretty cool looking park.

This is a very nice softball complex that is home to many Center Grove/Greenwood recreation leagues…read morefrom 4 to 18 year olds. It has been around since 1974. The complex has 10 lighted fields (with score boards) and a decent sized parking lot. There is also two batting cages, three covered pavilions with picnic tables and two restroom facilities there. The parking lot can get kind of full though, especial when there is a large tournament or in between games on rec league nights. Also, be carful, cars are zooming in and of the lot. There is a well stocked concession stand at the park with popcorn, candy, drinks, burgers.... The park is well maintained and a pretty clean. There are a few bleachers at each diamond, but I recommend bring your own chain so that you can be more comfortable as well as spread out a bit more. This is an excellent softball facility that provides opportunities for many girls. If you do visit here, please keep in mind that they do not allow pets.
