I've been going to this gym for a few years now so I can say I have a pretty good ethos for my review and as to why I appreciate this gym. I am only a basic member, so I can't vouch for the extra features like the pool and the sauna and the other classes. I go mainly for the weightlifting equipment and the open spaces. I like how there are two fitness greens in the gym which both offer plenty of room to exercise. The variety of weightlifting equipment is also pretty good, with a lot of different machines and cable stacks. The free weights are also pretty well stocked. My favorite area is the Olympic weightlifting area, which has four platforms and six squat racks which also have platforms. This area has a lot of mirrors so it's easy to keep your form in check. I have never used any of the class spaces but they all look really well kept from what I can see. They even recently updated one of their studios for weightlifting classes! I've only been a member for less than a month but I really like it here. I'm an early bird and I work across the street so it's perfect for a morning run, swim and shower. Ample treadmills. Never have trouble finding one. I haven't used the weights much but in the morning there always seems to be enough. I really joined for the pool. It's always almost empty from 5-7 am and it is just really nice to be able to swim in a clean pool. I wear goggles, would highly recommend them. Hot tub is a plus as are the steam room and sauna. My fave part is using the massage chairs after my workouts. I pay 25 a month for everything. The lower membership doesn't have pool included. Fair price for what I use the gym for. Clean place, good music and good people. read more

Men's locker room is always filthy and stinky. I notice the same dirt stains for weeks as if no one cleans ever. There are 4 sinks in the bathroom, 2 does not work at all, one is faulty. That leaves 1 fully functioning sink. Dudes are already gross, now imagine all the guys that are walking right out the stall from wiping their butts and not having the ability to wash their hands and going right back out there to grab weights. The lockers are so dirty I don't feel comfortable putting my belongings in there. Showers smell HORRID. literally like sewer. And there is a gnat infestation in every shower! In the span of a month I've spotted 2 big roaches in the locker room. Please hire cleaning services because clearly the staff does not make cleanliness a priority! read more

Ok.. I realize this gym is VERY busy, but it sad to see rules aren't enforced and how far downhill it's gone over the years.. Everytime I go, there are guys working out without shirts, shoes and lugging/grunting excessively making it a bit uncomfortable to get my reps in. People are rude and inconsiderate, but the issue I mainly have with this gym is the state of the men's locker room. The showers look like they have never been cleaned as a thick layer of black dust is caked on in all areas. The water smells like sewage, soap is constantly out, paper towels scattered across the floor, but at least sometimes that soaks up the urine! The bathrooms are FILTHY. Toilets don't all have seats and there have been literal feces and urine in puddles all over the floor. Because of this, I'll do whatever I can to avoid using the bathroom and I refuse to shower here anymore. I want to love this gym, because it's got a lot of recovery options!! But the bathrooms haven't gotten any better and it's been months. read more

Okay, I'm back on my fitness trip and I decided to try out VASA. The pricing is right up my alley, and the location is perfect. The gym is super clean and I usually do not have to fight for a machine. I'm sure it's because I go in the morning and avoid the super busy times. Vasa offers so many different boutique-style group classes for $40/month, which is pretty unbeatable. All of the instructors are top notch and has improved so much over the past year. read more

Okay WOW!!! Like I didn't believe the hype...or shall I say the consistently packed parking lot however I'm a Vasaliever (Vasa Believer) It has almost been a month since I've joined and I'm loving the gym. My first interaction was with Alicia and she was AMAZING! I was supposed to do a consultation however somehow selected the wrong gym. No worries, I worked out & she found time to complete and thoroughly explain my InBody Scan. I then completed my consultation with Daniel and he was great as well. I do wish some of the health questions would have been asked prior to discussing goals etc as I was not deemed for a trainer (due to some health concerns from earlier this year). I also would have enjoyed a tour of the facility. I didn't ask nor do I know if he knew I hadn't. Nonetheless, he was GREAT and detailed. My Studio Red classes with Nicole have been great & supportive. I appreciate how she corrects form to maximize your time. After a couple of weeks of stiffness I signed up for a StudioFlow class. Let me tell yal...I'm fixing to upgrade from Fitness to Studio package. Luckily I've done yoga before so the FastFlow for the first time was a fairly easy adjustment. The strawberry on top of this class was the cold lemongrass towel given to place on your forehead, chest or face. The relaxation and empowerment I feel to go through my day with EASE! I am HOPING that corporate, management, all staff and those that workout continue to respect the space & one another. I get it. This place does have some drawbacks it's always packed. The music is usually so loud that you can't hear the music through your headphones but with that being said, I think that the price point the amount of amenities is really unbeatable. There are free weights and machines and stretching areas and a pool. I think there are a couple things you can do to make your vasa experience better the first going on an off time being. Be flexible with your workouts--meaning that if all the freeways are being used, try a machine and things like that. read more

I've been fairly regular on updating my review of Vasa. In the past year they have earned back a fourth star as they've kept staffing levels acceptable and do a good job of repairing equipment that breaks...though they could definitely speed that up a bit since some equipment takes weeks. The squeaky treadmill on the end has been squeaky for quite a long time...IYKYK. The facility is clean, they keep the antiseptic wipes stocked, and the staff continue to be friendly and greet / say bye to members. Their rates are great (not sure how LA Fitness is still open at $35/mo) and the membership is really friendly. The early morning crew is large and we know each other. My favorite gym so far!! I've tried other gyms in different cities and states, and i will say I'm very happy with this VASA location. It's not a bad drive and never too busy when I go (I recommend going early vs late). This location recently opened and the staff is doing a great job with maintenance. Everyone is very nice and I love the fact that they don't seem to have high turnover with their employees. The one downside is that when a machine goes out of order it takes awhile for it to be fixed, but there are tons of other options so it isn't a dealbreaker. There is a pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, massage beds and more! It's a one stop shop for a great monthly price! read more

Great gym staff is very welcoming and gave me honest honest opinion on there gym membership options and how they have sales pretty often so don't worry id you miss out on one. The membership itself for the price is great, and they even give you rewards if you go consistently on top of that. Aside from that, the gym is well maintained and during peak hours it gets really packed Monday-Friday. On the weekends it's not bad and there is plenty of machines available. read more

Trash-- especially training sessions. Try Orange Theory, Noom, Weight Watchers, or literally anything else. I am extremely unsatisfied with my personal training services, and I have been having an unproductive and frustrating time with the Membership Services Team. I've made phone calls, emails, and even sent a letter to cancel the service I have not been receiving. Apparently, VASA is run by ghosts and they 'don't' have corporate supervisors or any higher ups. PT-- I have had to remind my trainer of my presence and have tried communicating with him with no timely response on his end. Ex: I have had to remind him to forward me the nutrition guide (this guide is simplistic and full of common knowledge), I have had to remind him of my goals, I have had an extremely difficult time being scheduled, and I have had to remind him of my asthma and previous ACL surgery. In addition, I never received a personalized routine for my time outside of training sessions. I find myself discouraged and left to dry to say the least. This is the worst-case scenario for a single teacher who recently bumped into some financial hardships---and I want to emphasize here that this is not even my reason for requesting a refund and contract cancelation; I would be MORE than willing to push through and make this personal investment IF the service fulfilled its promises. As for the Membership Services Team, one of the most frustrating parts would be trying to contact any of them. When I finally did, I received repetitive and almost automatic responses. They did not consider what I have countlessly communicated--not to mention that I was only contacted after they saw a couple of negative reviews I left. Since then, I have been relentlessly reminded of the two ways I can cancel the contract, I have been offered a different trainer, they offered to freeze my contract for 90 days, and they offered to cancel the autorenewal portion of the personal training contract. If they even viewed my account, they would have seen that the autorenewal portion had already been cancelled, and they would have seen that I had frozen my contract weeks ago myself. Lastly, I certainly do not want another trainer based on my negative experiences thus far. I am now left to sit and pay the remaining 6 fees until I've found an unfortunate soul to buy the contract that was apparently made by Rumpelstiltskin (which I have had zero success or assistance with). VASA misrepresented personal training services with false advertising, and their contract is unconscionable. My trainer was supposed to help me stay motivated and focused on my goals, as well as keep me accountable. They did not do so, yet I unfairly must make monthly $200 payments with no benefits or services in return???????? I have had more progress, accountability, and positive experiences with Orange Theory, Noom, and Weight Watchers-- programs which do not promise to be personal or as communicative as a one-on-one personal trainer should be. Guess I have to take this to a small claims court since they're not choosing to do what is moral or just. read more

I LOVE this gym! I love the kid care so much. I'm a busy mom and I don't trust anyone with my babies, but I whole heartedly trust all the lovely ladies in the child care center. The play area for them is seriously better than most schools, and the theater is pretty awesome. Second, the Studio Red classes and slow flow are unbeatable. I went from being 210 and absolutely hating the gym, to 145 and building friendships with my coaches and classmates. I will always recommend VASA eagle creek. read more

Love the Zumba classes there but another great feature they have are the personal trainer, Thaddeus is the best I went from barely being able to get up and being mobile to being fully flexible and moving around with ease, he listens and actually pays attention to what is best for you so if you're looking for a great trainer I would highly recommend him!! read more

I normally go to Indianapolis VASA but against my better judgment I went to Eagle Creek this morning and remembered why I chose the other one. Eagle creek always has a broke sauna, broke equipment, weights laying around everywhere on the ground or racked in the most random ways. The locker room smells terrible like it is never cleaned. The sauna and steam room smell like a porter potty on a job site. You can tell the staff doesn't walk through or else the weights would be better organized at 4am and equipment would be fixed and not missing pins. Fans are usually off so there is no air flow and hot in workout area, I guess that's there way of making up for the sauna always being broke , to make it hot and miserable everywhere else. I would definitely advise using Indianapolis VASA, I don't have one single complaint on that place and they have a working sauna and tanning beds. read more

VASA's Kid Care @ Eagle Creek is amazing! The workers are consistent, reliable, honest, and TOP NOTCH. They know my kiddos by name, know their favorite activities, and show that they really care. I'm thankful to have this resource so I can work out but also feel my children are safe. VASA Red classes are mainly what I take and I can't recommend it enough. I use to love Vasa until I moved from the area and I've been trying to cancel my account for months now. I was told in the gym my membership couldn't be cancelled until the bill was clear and they couldn't cancel it in the gym. I had to wait until next billing cycle and once the bill was cleared, I was told it will be canceled. Months later I've had multiple charges from Vasa trying to continue to take out funds from the gym. I recently reached out to their staff after vasa tried to debit a little over $200 out of my account. When I reached out and asked what's going on, they're telling me my account is still active and that the balance is well over $200 now because I was getting charged for "return fees" and the return fees are higher than the monthly membership I paid for! After reaching out and speaking with Chelsea, I'm still in the same boat. They are staying they won't close my account now, until I pay the balance that is owed from them continuing to charge my card and charging me for the return fees. I don't recommend this gym anymore. The way they lock you into your contract should be illegal. We have the right to cancel a membership at anytime but now I'm locked into a membership contract and have to pay a huge bill to be released. Be careful dealing with VASA!! read more

As a new member, I came to this location to test the waters. From reading reviews and having past experiences with gyms, I kind of knew what to expect. For pros, the facility is pretty large, there's a wide variety of amenities to choose from. There were weight machines, free weights, turf spot, track looking lanes, a fenced area for personal training, cardio machines, recovery area, pool, sauna, hot tub, basketball court, and the class rooms. I decided just to go on the treadmill to scope the place out and also because i'm injured, but it was pretty impressive. The equipment was pretty new and looked like there was a pretty good selection too. The cons included the pool being down and this was one of my biggest cons because it's one of the reasons why i checked the gym out (not sure why it's still down but i read reviews from months ago that it was down), not much staff when i was there (12pm), and the gym being pretty crowded. Overall, with the price point, everything is expected. I'm going to try out the thompson location and go at an early morning time soon and see if there's a difference. read more
