ok so heads up I'm gonna try to make my review as thorough as possible. It is clearly well deserved. Yo is the best hands down. She is kind, communicative, and sincere! When in doubt always go to Yo! I do. But seriously Look no further (excellent with doodles and all dogs alike). Trainers are all very professional. Robert is awesome with bonding with larger, high energy dogs, and implementing impulse control with Nikki the crazy coco. It is very niche and job well done. Especially with Nikki Coco (my massive+ high energy standard bernadoodle puppy). It's a talent. Nikki is no princess but she's a gentle giant for sure. She is sensitive and has a very kind heart but she is very large and strong puppy no doubt... Hannah is very sweet also. She raised Diana (my beautiful baby mini goldendoodle) to be the sweetest, most lovable, cutest, and cuddliest baby girl of all time. Diana loves Hannah and school very much! Eric is an awesome driver for evening drop offs. He is very knowledgeable. I love Melanie as well. Very communicative and the best. Lastly, If you want anything done or When in a pinch always text Yo first. You are welcome. She makes everything happen. She makes the world go round and she truly runs the show. It's magic! Thank you Yo for everything everyday. Truly like a Disneyland for dogs. Amazing accomplishment! *Only place that I trust with my my doodle puppies. I love and appreciate that everyone connects and cares about Nikki (bernadoodle) and Diana (goldendoodle) as much as I do! Important notes to keep in mind:) - Clean school (+they wipe the paws Asian household friendly lol). If you know you know. - Flexible for working professionals with busy schedules especially ie doctors, lawyers, business, and families - Picks and drop offs available for weekday academy - Flexible with unpredictable grad school schedules (med school, law school, I.e) if you're a booked, committed, or busy student - Can leave fur babies when on vacation! 10/10 love - Trustworthy (I am patient but also a total perfectionist and hard critic)! Love cla. - Sustainable and friendly solution especially for busy, animal loving, working professionals! Just go sign up already you will thank me later (I promise in advanced! you are very, very welcome)! I think k covered all my bases. Sign up fast spots fill up ;)) xx much love and have a happy new year! And have a blessed day. love, j

SO grateful to have found Yo and Canine Learning academy. We got a puppy thinking we were prepared, but we were so not. We have 2 little kids and realized quickly we needed help. I called a couple of places and on the first call Yo spent about 20 min with me giving me tips and advice and I hadn't even hired her yet! She took our 10 week puppy in for the board and train and was extremely responsive to every text and question I had once she was back home. The puppy classes on Saturday's have been super helpful too, her staff really cares about these dogs. Thank you Yo and team for your kindness and compassion, we (and Sunny) are so thankful for you!

    JD with a new trim

Yoanka helped us pick out our puppy, JD, five years ago. She provided initial training (potty training, manners, recall, etc.) that has served us well. She and Kurtis and other members of the CLA team continue to play important key roles in JD's life, making her the affectionate pet she is today. Thank you, Yoanka, and Canine Learning Academy for your continued presence in JD's life.

First off incredible!!! Canine academy right away treated me and my wife as family. We had no idea what we were getting into when getting our dog Ludo. So we searched and searched for help everywhere. Yo and her team were a blessing to find. Yo sat down with us for an hour and went over everything. We are so incredibly grateful that Canine Academy is here for us and we are always in good hands. If you are thinking of having them train your dog please please just do it. You will have the best trained dog ever! We also receive pictures and video of Ludo everyday! We picked the train and board for a week, we had a new dog! We also picked the 6 month puppy school after that, now we have a perfect dog!

I spent a week with Yo for board and train and without her help, there's no way I could have handled bringing home a puppy! The mental support was just as important as the physical training! We got my puppy on a routine in 2 days and he started sleeping through the night in his crate on day 3! I appreciate their business moto of positive training, as I can see not just my puppy responding but all the other dogs and puppies they work with as well. They are knowledgeable in all aspects of dog behavior and how to correct unwanted behaviors. I was able to go home, supported by their online training site, and continue to train my puppy!

BEST DECISION EVER! From our initial consultation with Yo we knew our 1 year old Belle was in good hands. Yo was able to identify the issue we were having with Belle being protective over us and come up with a plan that Yo and Julie executed. During our in home sessions Julie gave us lots of helpful information and her instructions were clear and easy to follow. The entire staff is amazing and you can tell they love what they do and love all the dogs they train. We have now incorporated Belle going to daycare once a week. It's a great break for me to get work done and I know she loves it too. She comes home exhausted from a full day of mental stimulation and playing with her new dog friends. But most importantly we have seen a huge improvement with Belle at home. We used to have to cross the street when going on a walk if we saw people or another dog approaching as Belle would growl and bark at them until they passed, but now she has so much more confidence and doesn't react to people or dogs on our walks. We couldn't be happier with the results we are seeing!!! THANK YOU Canine Learning Academy!!

I was lucky enough to adopt a golden doodle pup named Maggie almost a year ago now. She was just over 2 months old at the time and I had never taken care of a puppy on my own before. Needless to say, I felt very overwhelmed and nervous I wasn't up to the task. I knew I needed help so I started looking for trainers. Canine Learning Academy came very highly recommended to me by a friend of mine who also had their pup, Darla, trained by them. We had a consultation with one of their trainers, Julie, and immediately I knew it was gonna be a perfect fit for me and Maggie. I'm very happy we decided to start training while she was super young because Julie helped us build an awesome foundation of communication for me and Maggie. I quickly realized that it wasn't just Maggie that was being trained, it was me. And Julie was so patient with me and kind and tremendously helpful. I call her my puppy therapist because she is always so attentive to all my questions and helped quell all my anxieties. She was always just a phone call or text away whenever something came up that I didn't know what I was doing. That alone made it worth every penny and then some. Maggie is a smart pup and Julie helped her more than exceed her potential. Canine Learning Academy has lots of options for training that fit practically any situation you might have. We went for private in person training at my apartment, but it also included group training and a ton of super helpful online content. Maggie is just over a year old now and I can confidently say that she is a GOOD dog and I truly have Julie and Canine Learning Academy to thank for that. If you have a new fur baby and are anxious about training on your own, I can't recommend these guys enough. Do you and your dog a favor and give them a try. If you wanna check out Maggie, she's got her own Instagram. @maggiedoodledawson

Still 5+ stars! We recently had a big life change (new baby) and the CLA team helped us make arrangements for an unexpected early birth--because they really do treat our pup (and us) like part of the CLA family. But that's not why I'm updating my review, my update is to say how well their techniques work. Our pup has behaved well from the very beginning after meeting the baby. She respects boundaries and cues and knows that she will only receive positive reinforcement so she never needs to feel tense or scared. Even if she is unsure about something she looks to us first. She is so relaxed and lovey to the baby. CLA is right--be a treat leader!

My short review for folks that are speed reading here: Yo, Julie, Laura, Curtis and everyone at Canine Learning Academy is awesome. They are science based trainers who stay up to date on the science and best practices of dog training. They are certified by KPA - one of the most prestigious dog training academies available. I learned so much from them and the relationship between me and my dog has improved so much with their guidance. They are also very responsive and passionate about what they do. I absolutely recommend 100000%. Long review for those that want to read on: Meeting Yo and the Canine Learning Academy crew has changed my life. I previously trained my dog using a "balanced" approach and used some aversives like a prong collar. Long story short, my dog developed some unintended behavioral issues and become more stressed out in multiple situations. After taking an Applied Animal Behavioral program with the University of Washington and learning about the science behind animal training and behavior, I decided I was only going to look for the best in the field to help me with my dog since I lacked the practical skills to apply my knowledge to actual training. I found Canine Learning Academy through the KPA website - one of the most prestigious dog training academies that was recommended by my professor, who is a certified applied animal behavior consultant) at the University of Washington. Since the first time I met Yo, I absolutely loved her. She was so passionate and so knowledgeable. The information she provided aligned with the curriculum I learned at the University of Washington, so I felt very comfortable in knowing that Yo was science based and very skilled. As someone who has worked with a variety of different types of trainers in the last 4 years, I can attest to the skill and efficiency that Yo and her team has. Super supportive, responsive, passionate, knowledgeable, innovative, and dedicated. Canine Learning Academy will take great care of you and your dog, regardless of what services you select and will work with you to choose the best plan of action for you and your dog. If you've made it this far in my review, the end is near. Bottom line - if you want the best for you and your dog and want your dog to ENJOY listening to you instead of just being forced to... call up Canine Learning Academy. You'll be glad you did.

Through very unique circumstances we acquired a six month old Golden Retriever that has been in Canine Learning Academy's board and train program as well as tHe daycare training. During our first week with her we recognized how amazing her precious training had been. The transition process was almost flawless and tHey went out oF their way to make sure we understood the training and did what was best for the puppy. Yo is the owner and truly has put her heart and soul into this program. I can't say enough great thinGs about the trainer JULIE who has a very special relationship with our puppy. I 100% Recommend this training for your dog. We have three children who are able to utilize the training techniques and give all this puppy the love she deserves!!!!! THank you Canine learning Academy!

My dog sitting while we check the mail was never possible before Canine Learning Academy!

We immediately emailed the business requesting a refund for the unused credits and it has been over a week and we kept being told by Vince to be patient. My partner asked for a timeline, and in which Vince had requested another 5 days. I had filed a dispute for a portion of refund with my credit card company before they completely disappear. I'm going to let Coco review Bark City for me. As we turn…read morethe corner onto Edison, she starts jumping up and standing on her hind legs to get a better look at the entrance. Once I pull up the car in the parking spot, she immediately turns towards the car door waiting for me to come and put her leash on to go to the entrance, with her leading the way. She sits right next to the entrance gate while I check her in. Once in the anti-room, she greets the staff member and goes to the door that leads to the yard patiently waiting for her to open the door. She looks back like saying "see you later" and she's off. When we come to pick her up, she's always excited to see us, exhausted from a day of frolicking with other dogs. A happy dog for sure!! That's what matters. Thanks Bark City. PS. We also boarded her one time for 5 days. They took great care of her.

My dog was always happy to go, doing a happy cry as soon as he realized where we were pulling up. Loved how they used to be detailed in the daily report cards, including cute photos of the day plus bath time. BUT if your dog needs any regular meds or has special instructions, I no longer recommend bark city. My dog has allergies, where he can't have certain food and/or shampoos. I would come prepared with all his food, meds and instructions, and things started falling off. I would pick him up and there would be a ton of food left, but no updates or comments of whether he wasn't eating or just not being fed. He would come back flakier than when I left him, so I had to assume he was eating other dog's food or bark Citys own. The baths were also not always consistent, where the last time I went to pick him up, they didn't have time for a bath. On top of this, the poor guy walked out with his eyes crusted shut, even thought I left his eye meds, which they swore they gave him daily, but the build up in his eyes was days worth of build up, not hours. The report cards stopped having write ups, just photos, some of the time I would even get pics of the wrong dog. Even had an incident once where my sister went to pick him up, and they gave her the wrong dog. That last time with the eye situation was the last time I took him there, and would've gone back if they took accountability but there was none, so sadly we won't be back. Fine if your dog has zero meds or issues. Not a good idea if they have any special instructions.
