We purchased 20 classes for $750 when Zoom Room HB was having their Black Friday sale last November. As of May 2, we had attended 7 classes. On May 21, I received an email that their location had closed THE DAY BEFORE and that Long Beach and Lakewood would honor up to 5 class credits. Wtf. I went back to all my previous emails from Zoom Room HB and there was not a single announcement that they will be closing down. We immediately emailed the business requesting a refund for the unused credits and it has been over a week and we kept being told by Vince to be patient. My partner asked for a timeline, and in which Vince had requested another 5 days. I had filed a dispute for a portion of refund with my credit card company before they completely disappear. As someone in property management, the business owner would have at least known 60 days in advance (maybe even earlier depending on their lease contract) that they will not be renewing. They decided to wait until the day after closure to announce they are permanently closed to not deal with in person questions from their customers. read more

How cool!!! Small personable classes ranging from obedience, tricks, agility and more. I randomly tried a package of classes when I stopped by - hoping to get my dog to stop nipping me when he is excited. Classes teach the owner how to train their dog. Go home and keep practicing! The instructors and owner totally care, giving tips to nip behaviors in the bud and to UNDERSTAND your dog. Two years ago, I received training credits with no expiration date. When my wife and I recently visited for an assessment of our new puppy, we were told earlier that day that I still had 10 unused classes (worth roughly $500). However, once we arrived, the manager, Vince, informed us that the credits had been "converted" into a training package that had supposedly expired. California law is very clear: a business cannot impose an expiration date on paid gift cards or credits, nor can it retroactively convert them into expiring packages (See California Civil Code §1749.5.) Yet that is exactly what happened here. After looking into other reviews, it appears this isn't an isolated issue. I recommend avoiding this entire scam and this location! read more

I was just able to take Loki on a hike (where it's pretty populated with dogs) by myself, then to a CROWDED coffee shop with extremely close proximity to humans & other dogs...the amount of times he got complimented on how well-behaved (and cute, duh) he is made me so happy. Before Zoom Room with Mike, I would've never taken him on an outing like this by myself nor would it have been FUN for the both of us. Here are huge wins that happened: 1. He didn't try to smell everyone's butts ("leave it") and say hello to strangers without my queue ("break"). 2. He didn't walk up to any random dog nor did he pull in their direction...he was UNPHASED by other dogs (he is most motivated by social interactions with other dogs which is what we're working on). 3. He continuously checked in with me (looking at me) both on the walk and at the crowded coffee shop despite all of the noises, close people passing by, etc. The confidence I feel in both him and myself would've never been possible without Mike's incredible training and support. 10000/10 recommend Zoom Room (and this is coming from someone who has spent THOUSANDS on his training in the past in multiple different forms only to not yield consistent results). read more

I wanted to share my experience with Zoom Room Huntington Beach because I ran into several issues that made me decide not to continue with their training program. I attended an Obedience 2 session on September 27th. When I arrived, the waiting area outside had a strong smell of urine, which made me question how often that space is cleaned. During class, we were given a plate for treats, and I wasn't comfortable using it without knowing how frequently they're sanitized. Before attending, I had called for help with the app because I was unsure how to manage the class schedule. I was advised to try the first class before committing to anything else, and I asked to be removed from all waitlists. Even so, the next day--September 28th--I was still added to another class I had specifically asked not to be enrolled in. I canceled it immediately and requested confirmation that I wouldn't be charged for it. On September 30th, I emailed to request a refund for the unused classes. I was told I'd only be charged for the one session on the 27th. My total charge was $405, and I expected to be refunded everything except that single class. Instead, it wasn't until I filed a dispute with my credit card company that on October 25 I received a refund for only $324. I was charged for the class on September 28. I followed up multiple times from September through November 22nd--about six emails in total--and each time I was told that "Vince was out of the office" and that my refund was still being handled. I am still waiting on that refund. I shared this feedback with them directly because I do think simple improvements--like suggesting owners bring their own bowls or a mat for their dog--could make a difference. I was genuinely hoping to return in the future for trick or scent classes, but the lack of customer service and the difficulty getting a straightforward refund left me very disappointed. I hope they take this as constructive feedback and make changes that improve the experience for other dog parents. read more

We have sent all of our pups to the Zoom Room and they learned from an early age the basics of sit, stay, down, leave it, and 'touch' which is one of the BEST commands they know! It's actually telling them to come but it's more like a fun game for them!! We get lots of compliments of how well behaved our pups are in public - we take them on trips, to restaurants, and shopping and they do very well! A few people have asked us if it's the characteristic of the breed to be so well behaved - Uh No!! It's because we have spent a lot of time training our pups! And I just want to mention that they offer puppy preschool classes for pups up to 14 weeks (I think). It's a grand way to socialize your pup early! The trainers at Zoom Room are GREAT! - they're so patient and they teach at a great pace. And if they see that someone is having trouble, they will offer assistance. We have been taking our puppy to zoom room for about a month now and absolutely love it! The flexible scheduling makes it easy for us. The trainers are the best. So much knowledge and patience. The classes are small in size which allows the instructor to come around and help tailor training specifically to you and your dog. The positive reinforcement methods.are great and the trainers do a wonderful job of packing a lot into each session. Our pup is happily exhausted in the best way when we are done. The level we are in (puppy plus for 4-8 month old pups) has been so helpful. The instructors work with you and your dog on various obedience skills. We as pup parents are harder to train than the dogs and they always have grace and helpful tricks to make each session successful and give us the confidence to keep the training going at home between classes. I've been taking my pup to the zoom room for the past few months and have thoroughly enjoyed all the sessions. There are some instructors that I perfer over others. However, overall every instructor is knowledgeable and comes around multiple times to help each dog. The set up is really good as well. They only allow a max of 4 dogs (in the sessions I've been) and this gives the trainer ample time to go around and advise each dog. This place is also very clean, compared to other dog training schools we've been to! This is a huge plus for me because at the other dog schools my pup would chew on the dog hair that was left behind :/. If you have a younger pup they also have the option for puppy play in the class so they can socialize, which definitely helped my puppy learn how to play with other dogs later on in the dog park. My puppy requires A LOT of physical and mental stimulation in order to be calm and manageable. I've been looking at a variety of training facilities to do obedience and agility training and I think we've found our match. Zoom Room is unique in that obedience classes are skill based and flexible, not series and schedule based, so you can advance quicker (depending on your commitment to training at home) and without having to commit to a six week course. I had my puppies 1st training session TODAY and I am SO HAPPY!!! AMAZING RESULTS! Zoom Room does NOT use any type of force, prong collars, or other various methods to train dogs. They teach you to use a clicker (which only makes a soft clicking sound) when your dog does something right and then you give your puppy a treat. I was almost in tears when I walked out of zoom rooms first training session with a feeling of relief & accomplishment because my sister and I had just had a terrible experience with a personal dog trainer (not affiliated with zoom room) who wanted us to use force/prong collar and told me that my dog needed it. We honestly felt like we were being asked to spank a new born which we knew right then and there to RUN! We left RIGHT AWAY and drove STRAIGHT to zoom room. We walked in and Sam helped us get set up right away & created our puppies profile & reassured us that ZOOM ROOM DOES NOT USE FORCE. I was very lucky to have Sam fit me in on the SAME DAY for my puppy's first training session with Andi. The staff are super friendly & we're enthusiastic about meeting our dogs. Andi was terrific! I learned so much from Andi and I highly encourage people to take a class with her. My pup learned so much in just 40 minutes I was amazed! she was patient with the humans & the dogs, made this experience fun, simple, & easy. Our puppy recently graduated from Puppy Kindergarten at PetSmart. While that was great for socialization purposes, we were looking for a different program to continue challenging our pup. So based on recommendations from other pet owners, we decided to give Zoom Room a try! They have multiple locations and the closest one to us is in Huntington Beach. It's in a mini mall on the corner of Beach Blvd and Garfield Avenue. There's a bit of construction on Beach Blvd so you may be a little delayed reaching the store. Zoom Room is an interesting little place. They sell treats, chews, collars and leashes. The actual training area is in the back and has a gated area separating the store from the training section. This area is large enough to accommodate up to 6 dogs. There is ample space in between each pet so that you can focus on the techniques being taught. They offer various classes to include Puppy Kindergarten, 3 levels of basic to advanced obedience, agility courses, and canine good citizen certification. What makes Zoom Room different from other training facilities is that you don't have a set time to come in for the next 6 weeks. You have to buy a package of classes that could range from 4 to 10 classes. Then you have to look at the schedule and try to get into that class. There are a certain number of spots available for each class so you might have to go on a waitlist if it's full. This is a bit of an inconvenience for people who like consistency. I scheduled our puppy's classes well in advance so that we could be consistent with our weekly visits!!!! Our pup was enrolled in Obedience 1 which I felt was appropriate for him. Going into this class, I felt like he would advance through the requirements relatively quick! That wasn't the case because they stepped it up a notch and unfortunately, this pup has a short attention span. He struggled at first but 7 weeks later, he pulled it off!!! Our little Maverick graduated!!!!!! What I thought was odd about Zoom Room was that you go over the entire set of requirements in one class. It was overwhelming because it was a lot to handle in one setting. We basically had our work cut out for us at this point! However, we worked with Maverick on a daily basis and saw results over time. Another thing that I found to be interesting was that dogs graduate at different times. Each week, the trainer monitors your dog's progress. Once they feel that your dog has mastered the requirements set forth in the syllabus, your furry friend will graduate. It's pretty much a surprise when it happens because it occurs at the end of the class. So as you're on your way out, they'll stop you and give you a graduation certificate. A photo is taken with the award as well as a little gradation cap IF your dog will wear it. Overall, we are happy with our experience at Zoom Room. Our puppy really enjoyed going to class. He even relaxed enough to lay down and kick back when he should have been working! We were just happy to see him thriving in a new environment because we want the best for him. We look forward to the challenges coming our way in Obedience 2! It looks like we've found a facility that keeps the owner and dog happy!!! read more

The reason we won't be coming back is that dealing with the front office is like speaking to emotionless robots. They give the impression of being solely concerned with following protocol while being completely blind to the negative experience a person is going through. There were previous miscommunications with them in the past (can't believe I've been here almost 2 years!) but this one was the final nail in the coffin. We had 2 class credits that were unaccounted for and it took a week and a half to finally get a straight answer out of anybody. Meanwhile they never got back to me when they said they would and made excuses every time I had to call back on my own. It was such a frustrating and time wasting experience, that in the end I didn't even care about finding a solution to this problem any more. They're so oblivious it just boggles the mind. It's a sad moment for me to write this review. We wanted to love this place so much, our dogs were getting a lot out of the classes and their behavior improved markedly. But I'm actually relieved to finally leave this place and not have to deal with them anymore. This place is my way or the Highway with their training. Some don't use treats some do. Some use pinch or e collars some don't. But if you don't do things their way you can't join a class even if you have a well trained (world of dog training) and super highly functional Malinois. My dogs and I LOVE the Zoom Room! My older pup, Vixen, absolutely LIVES for her agility classes. When I tell her it's time to go to her class, I get the full head tilt and her tail starts wagging like crazy! She loves every second of zooming through whatever course Mimi sets up for her to conquer. I recently attended a small function at the Zoom Room along with my wife and our adorable chug Noodles. Her dog therapy group was holding a small get together to thank all of the various participants and food and beverages were served were both owners and dogs alike. We had never heard of this place prior to this event but had a good time nonetheless. The Zoom Room is a pet training facility with several locations throughout Southern California. They sell an array of dog treats, toys and supplies along with a large open play space. The play space consists of tunnels, two ramps of varying heights, hurdles and even a slalom like dog course. They even have a photo booth on a platform for your dog which you can use and then email a photo or directly upload it to social media sites, which is quite cool. Our dog is far too curious and squirmy to sit tight for a good photo but we took one nonetheless (some treats would have helped). Despite the fact that our chug is far too paranoid and scared of the obstacles, many of the other owner's dogs really seemed to enjoy them. The ramps were cool with the varying degrees and to see these dogs walk over them either by themselves or on a leash was neat. The Zoom Room can also be rented out as an event space for activities and functions such as the one we attended. The staff was nice, helpful and really seemed to have a good understanding of what people are looking for in a training facility. I would recommend checking this out if your dog is the playful type. While little Oliver gets to socialize a bit during class, the true training takes place every other day that we are not in class.. The instructors are young and energetic. They teach from the same book so the classes are comparable even with a different teacher. The group lessons come at a decent price but there is a lifetime of education and skills for your pet. I've been coming here twice for their "Puppy Preschool" program for puppies 2- 4 months old and we loved it! My puppy is about 3-month-old right now and he loved the class every time. Especially since he is a very active and "extrovert" puppy, he loves the playtime session with other puppies in the class. The facility is clean every time I visited and the instructor paid a lot of attention to every puppy in the class. They have a limit of 4 puppies per class (not sure if this is due to COVID or just how it has been). Even though it was only 4 puppies per class, they always have an extra person (in addition to the main instructor) to supervise the puppies during playtime to encourage healthy play and to prevent anything bad from happening. I definitely recommend this place for puppy classes especially if you would like to socialize your puppies before they have their complete vaccinations. They do require you to bring age-appropriate vaccination records to ensure that all puppies are healthy and safe. read more

I've been coming to Zoom Room on and off for a few years, first with private training for my older dog and now group training with my 1 year old dog. I don't live anywhere near Zoom Room (in heavy traffic it can take up to an hour for me to get there) but it's worth the time. I've hired a number of trainers over the years, but Zoom Room is the best. After everything I've learned, I strongly believe that clicker training with positive reinforcement gets the best results. Side note: as someone who worked as a therapist, positive reinforcement works best with both human and furry children. But, for some reason, my human kids just laugh when I use the clicker on them. My younger dog, Theo, has graduated to Level 3 and now we're working towards the goal of becoming a therapy team. Over the past 6 months or so, we've primarily worked with Miranda. She's a fantastic trainer who clearly loves dogs and works very well with the owners/handlers. The entire staff and other trainers we've worked with are also so friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of courses, including obedience, puppy classes, agility, dog tricks, scent work, loose leash, therapy dog, shy dog and other enrichment classes. I hardly worked with her at home but with once a week visits to the zoom room with Blaine , she became an all around better behaved more well adjusted Dog. In the car She'd actually start to excitedly murmur as we got closer and closer the facility. We eventually transitioned into just her and I in the agility room, and there again she thrived and loved it. Due to the pandemic, we had to stop and she was not happy. We returned last week and her excitement was extremely obvious. She took to that course with more Energy & enthusiasm and I had seen before..or maybe forgot, but she didn't!! We are THRILLED to be back. The joy it brings to both of us is beautiful! Thank you Blaine and Mel!! You have a wonderful thing going there and we look forward to our future visit!!! read more
