Chip immediately fell in love with Katie and we loved how thorough she was with all her questions and follow-up questions! Hubby and I immediately scheduled a date night! He had been declining the past few weeks, and the night before it was evident he was ready. He used to love car rides, but over the previous year they made him incredibly anxious. I tried to arrange an in-home service, but they were all booked beyond where he could continue peacefully. I called EOAH and they were kind and fit me in. The ride over was absolutely horrible. He was so terrified. Once there I brought him in. I asked for a sedative, because he was having horrific anxiety. They told me they needed to take him back to put a line in so they could administer the Euthanasia drugs. I asked if I could stay with him. They agreed and put us in a room. A tech and assistant came in to put the line in. It was horrendous. Knox flailed so hard. He was terrified. It took them ten minutes to get the line in. There was blood smeared all over the floor, and he was in a state I had never witnessed before. Again I asked for a sedative. They said the Dr. would be right in. About 10 minutes later she did. Knox never settled down. He was so distressed. She started the process where they give a sedative to almost knock them out. He finally dropped in my arms and appeared to be out. She left so I could say goodbye. Not 45 seconds after she left,he got up and was in hard distress again. I started yelling for assistance. Finally an assistant came in to tell me the Dr. would be back shortly. When the Dr. returned, she administered another sedative and then the final drug. He was gone. I have gone through this process with several of my dogs in the past. Never have any of them had such an awful departing. I spoke to my good friend who is a vet out of state. She was horrified they didn't give him a sedative immediately, before they attempted to put the line in his leg. It was so simple. I asked over and over. They didn't care. There was ZERO empathy for what he was clearly going through. My last memories of him haunt me. I was supposed to take care of him. I will never forgive East Orlando Animal Hospital for the egregious way they handled his leaving. It was completely unnecessary and easily preventable.

First of all the price is great in my opinion. Their facility has plenty of play space and the livery room we got was large. We always want, maybe even need, to be able to check in on them. While on past stays we would look and find them pacing and awooing all night. Something about this place made them zen. They looked out the windows, climbed and snuggled in their bed. We signed up for both of them to get a bath before pick up but due to some error with their system only our little guy got his, which was sad because if we had to pick we would have picked her. For our two dogs it was $115 a day for the luxury suite. When we arrived to pick them up we expected our Dachshund to scream like he does when we come home and our Auggie to go crazy and we were so disappointed when they came up to us like okay cool, summer camp is over? Not one cry or bark, no jumping or crazy tail wags. Next time we hope to board them for training. Our dogs would have required 3 weeks and that just didn't work for us right now.
