This is regarding my 04/25/2026 visit to PetSmart in Glendale CO…read more I have been taking my dogs to get groomed there for years. On 09/04/2025 I had in-home euthanasia for my beautiful Bella who I rescued at age 2. She was 21 when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I still cry every day as she was just the most unique out of all of the 8 cocker spaniels I had rescued. She had extremely expressive eyes and truly was my best friend. Since 09/05 I have looked online almost daily at the websites to find a rescue dog. I REALLY wanted another female cocker spaniel since my other dog Barkley was used to Bella. Barkley was my youngest rescue at 8 weeks. He is now 13 so spent his entire life minus that 8 weeks with Bella. He is experiencing her loss as much as I am. Luckily I stumbled upon Trevor's Animal Rescue website. They are a local rescue in Parker Colorado. Stephanie who runs the organization is in contact with 15 shelters across the U.S. who contact her when a dog is on the euthanasia list. Miller was in Arkansas. His owner died. A relative took Miller to a kill shelter. He is only 5 years old. Stephanie arranged for his transport to CO. She arranged for a vet visit who did bloodwork and took care of all of his vaccinations. There is no physical shelter for Trevor's Animal Rescue. Stephanie finds dogs and cats foster homes. Miller was at a foster home...whoever they are God Bless them for taking him in. Although Miller is a male, he and Barkley are doing okay. I am sure they will become best friends in the future. I very recently learned about a grooming option that PetSmart offers which is an "express" appointment. Typically when Barkley gets groomed he is there about 3 hours. The express option puts your dog with a groomer who has ONLY YOUR DOG to take care of at your appointment time. I chose this option for Miller since he has been in too many crates/kennels already. Miller had the works done...ears, teeth, anal gland expression, etc. I asked Shelli to call me 30 minutes before he was finished so I could be there for sure when he was done to get him outside to go potty. I asked her to put his ticket with the cashier upfront so I could pay before getting him to save anxiety. My appointment was at 7 a.m. The store doesn't open until 9 a.m. I did receive a call about 8:15 that he would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived, Miller was sitting in Shelli's lap. She was petting him, and he was super calm!! Please know that Miller screams every time I leave the house. He is so afraid of being deserted again. When I dropped Miller off I had handed a note to Shelli that he has separation anxiety. I learned from CHAT GPT to be as calm as possible and don't get emotional when I drop him off and then walk out, don't look back at Miller, etc. It all worked SO WELL! I highly recommend Shelli @ PetSmart Glendale. I will be scheduling express appointment for Barkley when he is due for grooming for sure. It only costs $15 more for express and cuts 1.5 hours off your dog's visit!! It is a special service so be sure to book way ahead! Missy Santasiero

Oh my gosh. Adrienne Green with Bark Busters is an incredible dog trainer who teaches you to be a…read moredog pack leader and speak dog so your pup can quickly learn what you want him to do My husband and I have had dogs all our lives. Everything from Pomeranians to Labrador and Golden Retrievers and every breed, temperament and personality in between. It's easy to find trainers but it can be really hard to find a GOOD trainer! Over the years, we've spent thousands on dog behavior veterinarians, breed specific trainers, and your basic pet store group classes. All of these can work for some dogs, but not all. We lost our two black Labrador brothers this past summer to age related health problems. We were completely devestated. We didn't know if we could do it again until Jack decided for us. Jack is a male Bichon mix rescue, but who rescued who? Jack rescued us - literally ! When we got Jack home we wanted to start out on the right foot immediately. We used two online trainings - waste of money and time. We asked, searched and found several self-proclaimed and "guaranteed results" trainers. You had a time limited training. From past training experiences, if your dog didn't learn everything in that timeframe you were left feeling frustrated and confused as to what to do next. Then we found Adrienne at Bark Busters. They aren't inexpensive, but when we found out they would be partners for the life of our dog, we were hooked. In over 40 years of our dogs and training, Adrienne is the ONLY trainer who actually knows what she's doing. Jack began training as a timid puppy who then developed into a defiant teenager with an attitude. Adrienne has given us the tools and behavioral changes we needed to make to consistently provide Jack with age appropriate expectations. We now understand how to think like a dog and speak "dog". Jack is becoming calm and confident that we are the leaders and he can enjoy being a puppy. Thank you Adrienne!

Worth. Every. Penny. If you are on the fence, please just go to a consult. Your dog will thank you…read moreand you will thank you. You might even find you enjoy dog training as a hobby. Has the training been tough? Yes, but it was so worth it. Our rescue puppy Jasper had a rough start to life. He was surrendered twice because he was "such a horrible puppy" (actual quote from the previous owners). He had issues with other dogs and resource guarding. Walks were a nightmare. Taking him anywhere was a gamble. We often felt anxious about leaving the house and upon returning would find the floor peed on and my right AirPod chewed up. When we were home he was a loving, cuddly, amazing dog. We knew he wasn't a bad dog, he just needed training. So I set out to train him. Followed the typical "give your dog tons of treats even when they misbehave" approach and it didn't work. So I sought out a professional. We were told by multiple trainers that Jasper was a hopeless case. He would bark, lunge and try to attack other dogs. One told us over the phone without even meeting with us in person that he should even be put down and then asked us when they could expect a first payment to start training. After venting to my mother in law one day about the problems she went on Google and found Ancillary K-9 So we gave them a call. From the get go Ancillary k-9 was different. We called and the lady on the phone laughed at the premise Jasper was hopeless and had us meet Dion. We went to the park and found Dions approach was very different: We tell the dog no. He had us work Jasper, gave us some homework and within one session, Jasper was walking without pulling. Within a week, we could leave the house without worry of him breaking out of the kennel. Dion also gives you an exact list of what to purchase and from where. He takes the guess work out of what equipment is needed and which kennel is the best. Now that we are almost done with our program Jaspers world went from us keeping him at home to now the world is his oyster. He regularly goes places with us and we feel confident to tackle hard situations. Dion explains training in a way that teaches you to train your dog this gives you the fundamentals to be successful regardless of the situation. He answers all questions thoughtfully and very precisely. We leave every session with more hope and even more results. I can say also say his approach will change you into the leader your dog needs you to be. Your dog isn't hopeless, your dog just hasn't met Dion

Hiring Dion was one of the best decisions we ever made for our dogs…read more Our dogs were reactive but fairly manageable--unless we encountered another dog that was lunging, jumping, or barking. That's when everything escalated quickly. One of our dogs even redirected aggression toward our other dog, and I was bitten in the process. After being approached by several off-leash or out-of-control dogs, I knew that for our own safety, I had no choice but to address our dogs' behavior. Other dogs' behavior is unpredictable, but ours didn't have to be. When we first started working with Dion, I was extremely reluctant--and my husband was strongly opposed--to using training tools like the prong collar and e-collar. I had been conditioned to believe these tools were traumatic for dogs. Training began with leash walking, which I didn't fully understand at first. I felt like I needed immediate help handling reactive encounters on walks, not focusing on structured leash work. I'm so glad I trusted Dion's education and process because that leash work became the foundation for our dogs' incredible behavioral transformation. Within weeks, they were walking beautifully and were far less concerned with outside distractions. Through Dion's training program, our dogs have become noticeably more relaxed and calm throughout the day. Many of our houseguests have even commented on how calm and balanced they are. Although we didn't specifically seek out Dion to address other reactive behaviors--like barking at dogs on TV or reacting to random noises--the training eliminated those unwanted behaviors as well. I am now a supporter of using prong collars and e-collars when they are used correctly and responsibly. I was initially afraid of these tools, but they helped create a major behavioral shift in our dogs in a relatively short period of time. I firmly believe that avoiding these tools earlier only prolonged our dogs' stress and anxiety. If you are willing to put in the time and effort and follow Dion's instructions, you will absolutely be rewarded with well-balanced pups. We are incredibly grateful for the transformation in our dogs and in our daily lives. Thank you, Dion!!!

Scott is amazing, and we can't recommend Chill Out Dog Training enough!…read more We adopted a 9 month old, 80 lb (now 110 lb) golden retriever from a local rescue in mid-2023. A complete contrast to our older collie/aussie mix, he was full of energy and naughtiness (a puppy), and a nightmare to control. Prior to being surrendered by his (previous) family, he went through two weeks of out of home boarding/training, costing upwards of $7,000. We thought this would have helped with obedience, but boy were we wrong. Fast forward two and a half years, sessions with a certified behaviorist, and failed attempts to use an e-collar, we were at a loss. He constantly displayed leash reactivity, would lunge at cars and dogs, and made it so we would rarely walk anywhere. He almost broke my finger during a break free lunge at a dog completely across a residential street! At home, dog forbid another animal appeared on the tv; he would jump and bark at everything. Then we found Chill Out... After the very first session with Scott, our big boy golden was a different dog. Scott set is up with the right tools to refocus our dogs behavior and break him of his leash reactivity. That very first walk was pleasant and uneventful. We almost felt foolish for claiming bad behavior. What we needed was the right trainer and methods to help our dog change behavior. Like I said at the beginning, I can't recommend Chill Out Training enough.

We initially contacted Ethan because of food aggression with our dogs. Not only have they not had any issues with aggression since our first session, they are better mannered overall. In addition to the food issue we worked on dog relaxation, leash manners, sit, down, stay, come, leave it and go find it. Ethan showed us several games to play with our dogs. My fiance and I are enjoying time with our fur babies now!! There is no more yelling and frustration. We can have them calm down and reward them with treats and praise. One of the last things we worked on was manners related to opening the door. Our lab and weimaraner are easily excited, and at about 75 pounds each can be a handful. Although we didn't have time to perfect the behavior before our last session was up Ethan gave us the tools to keep working on it. He was always professional and easy to reach. Unfortunately I had to reschedule on him twice and he was always nice about it. Our schedules can be hard to work with but Ethan was able to fit us in each week.
