This casino/hotel is my parents go-to. We booked two adjoining rooms and was not disappointed even though it's a little outdated. The rooms were clean, the receptionist was joyful and helpful. I had to go back down to request extra blankets and someone delivered in less than 10 minutes, we were impressed by that. Some hotels took about 15-20 minutes. I like that there was a small room next to the check in desk where you can get coffee 24/7. The rooms seem secure and well-maintained, I will definitely be checking in again. read more

Looks like this is getting a little shade, but to be honest, it is quite a nice little hotel room here in Las Vegas. We checked in on a Thursday and enjoyed an evening of casino action and north Las Vegas. The area has a lot of restaurants to choose from if you are not feeling any of the casino restaurants...this night we hit up the Texas Roadhouse that is only a block away. The casino is not super small, but smaller than most...but I found it very fun. We sat at the bar most of the evening and got great service. I slept very well in the very comfortable hotel room. This place is solid....really hate the reviews are not showing a better experience here. read more

Haven't been here in many moons, but since I was in the area , figured I'd stop by and see what's new . Also wanted to check out the Carve (at least to see where it was since I have a dinner meeting there in a couple of weeks. Ok the cannery is not glamorous or glitzy, it embodies the low key local casino vibe. A mix of older machines, newer machines etc. the clientele today looked pretty low key laid back working class retiree , maybe because I was there in the middle of the day. Table games seemed busy. I went to the big bar/lounge in the middle to play a bit of poker. Ordered a drink.... Let's just say there was so much ice in the glass, there there was barely any room for my Jameson. Play for a few minutes took my two swallows of my drink and asked for another. The bartender said she couldn't give me another for at least a half an hour.... What's up with that? There was no little light on the machine I was playing to indicate I hadn't played enough or anything... weird. Given that experience I went out on the floor , and played a bit . "Discovered" the victory sports at and cafe while I was walked around. I sat down at a machine , ordered a drink, got a better drink than at the other bar, and no attitude from the bartender when I asked for another to sip on when I was about done playing and getting ready to go back on the floor. The casino was clean, didn't see the army of cleaners like I see at Aliante or Santa Fe. Didn't see as many cocktail servers either. Ventilation wise, not bad So I'm not sure when I'll be back but I do have a meal coming up at Carve in the near future, so we'll see. read more

This place hasn't changed much since we were last here. Casino still has a stale smoke smell. If anything, it was pretty busy. There were a few families and people who also brought dogs. It says it's a pet free place. Clearly, guests don't follow it. Check-in was seamless. People who work here are super nice and friendly. The rooms are dated and have some wear and tear but still decent. Towels were in need of changing. I was surprised to see they have a lock on the TV. Have people really tried to steal a TV? Makes me think how rough this area or desperate people are becoming. read more

This is my first time at The Cannery. I was here to see The Whispers featuring Lenny Williams. This is music that I'd hear growing up from my parents to my grandparents. The show was great. I just wish I knew the show was outside. It was a very windy day in Vegas, so it got quite chilly at the show. Many people were underdressed for the chilly evening. The casino area smelled like stale smoke from a bar. I get that the casino wants people to be able to smoke, so that people will come to gamble. I wish there was some type of air purifier to remove the smoke smell. They do have a live singer in the bar on the casino floor. There's another bar that has karaoke. There's a monetary prize to be won for karaoke, first place $2000, second place $1000, and third place $500. The prize is in the form of a gift card according to what I read on the website. I'm not sure if it's a gift card to only be used at The Cannery or if it's a Visa or MasterCard gift card. There's also a movie theater attached to The Cannery, for the community as well as the casino/hotel guests. There's also a restaurant by the casino floor, but I'm unsure of what they serve because it appeared to be closed. read more

We decided to stay here for our first EDC. Chose this place because of its close proximity to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and we don't regret it. About 12mins away and we didn't hit much traffic heading to and from the place. Cannery has lots of free parking and the check-in and out process was quick. We ended up staying on the first floor and it helped us with recovery. I had multiple reservations since we added more days to our trip and the staff handled it flawlessly. We were able to stay in the same room at no extra cost. Location was also perfect. Just a few minutes away from the strip, yet far enough to have some peace and quiet. We were also close to a lot of restaurants and stores. Our only complaint? The rooms are freezing and the small fridge was more of a freezer and made our sodas explode/food frozen. Otherwise, it's not a terrible place. read more

One of my favorite Boyd properties. Rooms are always cozy and everything worked without any issues. Refrigerator is small but who needs a big one when staying for just a couple days. I love that the parking lot is close to the rooms and you can enter and exit with your card without having to track through the casino. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and clean. A dealer would not stop yelling and berating another player on our table. The player had done nothing wrong. We've never witnessed anything like it. We've seen players get angry at dealers, but we've never seen a dealer continually yell at a player. This dealer would not stop. What she did is called harassment. She harassed the player when she continued to yell at him while we were playing. She was wrong about the entire matter and should have been stopped by a pit boss. I'm sure her high-pitched voice was heard by all, but no one did anything. The other player was polite and did not talk back the entire time. We finally left because it was extremely unpleasant. The dealer tried telling me her side of the story as she was cashing me out. That's how bad she was. She just would not stop. Shame on her. read more

I guess this establishment never heard of "girl dinner," "girl chat" or maybe it's only permitted inside at the bar or otherwise while you are spending money huh?! My friend and I were finishing up Sunday funday in the parking lot finishing conversation, exchanging jeep stories, etc., just finishing our conversation in the parking lot. Apparently that is considering loitering of all of 15 minutes. Fine, no problem. But as the security just doing his job, casually strolls past us, ENGAGE in conversation with us. Then proceed to do a u turn and say that his supervisors are watching the cameras and asking us to leave. If we were being a nuisance or had a large crowd, but to not be able to finish conversation outside of our vehicles is absolutely insane. I am disgusted with this establishment and will unfortunately not be returning. Not for a movie, a beverage, food, nothing. read more

The stay overall was good, I've been here before but never stayed until this trip. It's a nice location with a lot of food options around which is good because there's ot much food options inside the casino/hotel. It is clean, rooms are nice and modern. However the reason why I gave it 3 stars and not 5 are 3 reasons: 1. Check in only had one receptionist and there was a line of 10 waiting to be checked in. Why only 1 person to check in at a hotel/casino!?! He was very nice though once we did get to him. 2. There was leftover food in the fridge makes me think how well was this room REALLY cleaned? 3. The bathroom sink won't drain Without these 3 issues this stay would of been a 5 out of 5 for sure. read more

The cannery casino use to be a favorite spot, we drove 4hrs from California in are rv only to find out no rvs allowed.had dinner and gambled and then kicked out by security guy in parking lot that is used by semi truck drivers. I wish he would have talked to us before we spent money there. Do not stop at Cannery Casino, save your money and go to Santa Fe Station Casino, 4 miles down Craig Rd. they are very accommodating to RVers and security chauffeured us to a nice parking area. read more

All the people are pleasant doesn't seem to be anyone that doesn't want to help if you have a question. I heard a lot of the machines going off as people one which is always a good sign. This is the last time I stay at a Boyd owned casino. Between the table games, the restaurants, and the rooms, I spent over $1500.00. Yeti wgen checking out, they wouldn't even comp the resort fees. They have changed much over the years, in unacceptable ways. Rooms were fine. Tables were typical. Steak house food was below their normal par standard. The real issue is that they joined the money grubbing strip casinos, without the guest services I have come to expect. read more

Went there for a concert last Friday - AC/DC tribute band. We had to leave after about 25 minutes! The sound guys had to be deaf! It was PAINFULLY LOUD! We tried to tell the sound guys to turn it down, especially the lead singer, but they just ignored us! We SPENT ALMOST $100 through Ticketron to see the show-not worth it! Wanted to enjoy, but could not. Would NOT RECOMMEND Cannery FOR CONCERTS unless you bring noise canceling ear plugs or headphones. Might tolerate then. read more

I stayed this past weekend for a work trip with my partner and had family book a room to stay with us and visit as well. Front desk was very nice at accommodations and offered to put our two rooms near each other. The rooms were very clean and simple, beds were pretty comfortable and provided a decent amount of sheets and towels. Casino floor was clean, we had quick beverage service when playing slots. Overall good hospitality and atmosphere! Not too far from the strip, but far enough from all the traffic. read more

I was here for a show as was the case the last time I was here. The whole theme is a 50s era with pinup like photos at the bar and there are cans in the decor all around the casino. Parking is plentiful in the garage. The elevators--slow though they may be--open onto the casino floor. There is a variety of slots to play and there are several restaurants from casual--the buffet, etc.--to their steakhouse. When the casino was new, my wife and I came here a few times and were pleased. It's OK but there are other choices for me much closer to home. The Strip is even closer. A good locals casino especially if you're a North Las Vegas local. read more

This place is a den of thieves. Some of the dealers at the tables will just take your bets when you're not looking, win or lose, and make you feel like you're the one that made the mistake. And when you challenge them, and get a floor manager, they say "the cameras" agree with them. Avoid at all costs unless you like to be stolen from and lied to. read more

This hotel is pretty basic. What makes me really upset is that they charge you a "resort fee" which they do not tell u about when you book the room or when you check in. Actually, at check in they charge you an additional 160 for a deposit and say "your room is fully paid for". Don't tell me that and then sneak in 60 bucks for a "resort fee" at check out. All other hotels are upfront about their resort fees and u pay up front when u book which is fine and honest. What pisses me off is that they were not upfront about it. Honestly one of my favorite places to play and take the kids to movies, but I recently found prejudice at the cashiers cage from a gentleman named bejamin and his supervisor Celis Vasquez (Day shift supervisor) I've been coming here to cash my checks and play for years. Last week, $2200 check, cashed no problem. For some reason, today... Benjamin lies to me saying we don't cash checks over $2000. As a black person you become sensitive to these subtle prejudices, so knowing the truth I asked his manager to come confirm my previous transactions. Celis confirms that seven days prior I cashed a check for over $2k. She tells me to come back after 11pm when the black manager is here and she'll do it for me. Very poor customer service and very far below what should be standard at the cannery. If this establishment doesn't value black patrons just say so. read more

RVs stay away. They have neon signs advertising freecparking. They gladly take your money in their restaurants and casino but their guards make you leave the parking lot after midnight. The semi trucks are welcome to spend the night but not RVs. Don't give them a dollar. read more

At the fun rockin show Wanted!! It was great. They did spectacular!! But.... Decent. Check in was easy, restaurant downstairs was very convenient with decent prices. Room was clean. Shower was annoying, handle wouldn't go all the way up to switch to the head, was loud as heck. I usually don't mind people talking in hallways I understand.. but the cleaning people were terribly loud cleaning the surrounding rooms for a couple of hours. Yelling at each other down the halls, come on. I'm in Vegas staying up late, people are sleeping in! Will return though. I've stayed in far worse on the strip. read more

This place seems like their games are rigged. I've noticed that if you tip the bingo callers before the start of the games those players seem to be the ones winning. I'm very observant and for a while I wasn't quite sure but, now I'm pretty certain that there's something going on here. I thought that you couldn't cheat in bingo but apparently they found a way. I even noticed a caller not calling a ball. Now, I do know that wasn't an oversight or mistake. .It was pure cheating. The Cannery is an awful place to play bingo.
