As many know, if you're a local; this is an outstanding property for our fun. Now depending on where you're coming from; this is a long long drive . We came a long long distance; but for the seclusion it's worthy of that. Are you looking just to get away. It's all here . The movies, arcades, food, drinks, music, and gambling! Play and stay! Enjoy some simple fun! Detox and get closer to the ones you love. As we walked around so many different ways to have some simple pleasures in life . Who remembers an Orange Julius and Dairy Queen together. They have that here . Yes. Now let's have some fun.

This review is basically just for the casino, not the pool, spa, hotel or any specific food outlet…read morebut I will touch on that a little later in this review... Ok, Aliante is pretty close and convenient probably draws a lot from Sun City and a few of the smaller master planned communities within Aliante and nearby north las vegas. During the daytime hours it's pretty dead except on "free gift" day. The parking lot (again during the day) is pretty empty except right by the casino entrances. The garage is a ghost town but is a wise choice when the weather gets hot. Clean? Fairly smoke free? Yes. Decent amount and variety of machines? Yeah I guess so. Table games, not many operating during the day. Hi limit bar? Virtually deserted during the day . The bar itself used to have a good amount of patrons, but ever since the upped the machines to a dollar minimum from .25 for the standard poker there's always plenty of empty machines (maybe different at night or weekends). The sportsbook is under renovation I guess that's a good thing. The space where TGI Friday's was is still in the "coming soon" mode. IMHO, while the casino has pluses.... It seems to be way different than when I first went more than a few years ago. No weekend giveaways, nothing of note on senior Tuesdays unless you want a bingo discount. The buffet is long gone, and I think so are the crowds. We've all heard the term "food desert" I think a more apt term is Aliante, where restaurants go to die. I mean during the daytime until 4:00 PM, your dining choices are the farm and the 2-3 outlets open at the food court. I guess if you like Capriotti's, your in luck because that outlet seems to be the only one doing any business . (you can use a monthly food credit there ). But market and salted lime and Trattoria 57 aren't open till four and I think salted lime is the only one open every day. So in my opinion, what do you get at Aliante? A safe, clean hum drum local casino that is a decent place to play the slots.... But if you want excitement and good food, best go somewhere else. I think in this area , Santa Fe, is much more lively, better choices. If you want Pizzaz? Red Rock is not far away, nor is Rampart (the resort at Summerlin) and Suncoast... I wonder if all the residential construction on the 215 between Decatur and the 15 will force Boyd to beef up their game .

We picked Home2 Suites by Hilton, due to their proximity, and the Hilton name. However upon arrival first thing was we were charged more than what it showed online. We wrote this off as online marketing. But then we get to our room and it is 80 degrees! We just came from a hot house, and now this! We try to adjust the thermostat, with no avail, so we try to call down stairs. No answer! First I go down to front desk and ask if the thermostat can be adjusted. Only to be told that there was a power outage, and that she THINKS that the temperatures are set. But to try to Google it! She has no clue! I ask to speak with a manager, no manager on duty, but she would try to get ahold of her. I try to ask to get my money refunded, so we may be able to go somewhere cooler, nope, can't do that either! Ask to talk to a manager again, nope, but she will call her. Then she asked us to go to our HOT room, and wait for a response. Nope, I sat down in the lobby, but was NEVER able to speak with the manager. Their answer was to put us in the room next door! Seriously, we went from 412, to 410! 410 was somewhat cooler, but still not really satisfied, especially due to the lack of support given, and right there on the wall it says if we are not satisfied let us fix it! I'm sorry, I don't believe that they did enough to fix it!

And has been broken for days. I was told "they put it on their website". I'm sorry, but who checks their website once they book the hotel to find out if an elevator is broken? No one. And I booked this reservations weeks in advance. I asked instead if they could accommodate us on the 1st floor, no. They said they were saving those rooms for possible handicapped people or people with pets- no guarantee that any of those people would be checking in tonight though. Only thing they could offer us was a queen suite (we paid for a king room) and they would have to charge us extra since it's a bigger room. No freakin way. They offered to let us cancel- which of course we did after being treated like we were nothing. And for $200+ for the night, and having stayed at best westerns 4 other nights this week, you would think they would be more accommodating. From the outside and the lobby, this is not a great looking hotel. And clearly they take no action in fixing their broken elevator- which is a hazard. The area this hotel is in is kind of desolate. No restaurants close by, about 25 min from downtown. I learned my lesson, please stay away from this hotel.

We had a recliner chair in the room that was wonderful for my husband who had surgery recently and sleeping in the bed is a struggle at times. Plenty of parking. Had a fridge and microwave. Had a stove. Loved the fact that it has a mini kitchette. Pillows and blankets were nice, my hubs loved the soft throw blanket. The people checking us out Monday AM and the lady who helped us Sunday get the later check out were happy to help and receptive to our dad jokes. Restaurants are within walking distance. Gas stations are close. Freeway is not too far (15/93). It's a non-smoking hotel. The Bad- One of the nights was super windy and it was VERY loud, which made going to bed a challenge. The hallway smelled like vomit walking to our room the first night. (Thankfully got better the following nights & thankfully the smell did not extend into our room) The shampoo/conditioner that was provided did not smell great. The breakfast they provide is a joke - basically over priced gas station food. The lady who checked us in, didn't seem happy to be at work and made us feel like we were bothering her. The cable box had unprogrammed and needed to be reset (thanks Google for the help). Overall, I would stay here again.

The interiors are a feast to the eyes and the theme rooms have to be seen to be believed. They are not easy to book but if you are lucky enough to snag one, expect a level of service that you have never before received (and may never experience again!). Oh, that glorious moment when the concierge asks, "how can i make all of your wishes come true?" and really means it. I've never seen a team work so hard to make their guests' stay everything they could ever hope for, and more. It seems like they were trained at the foot of Mt. Olympus as only the gods could possibly deserve the kind of service they provide. The whole experience felt dreamlike and the sushi meal provided was beyond the pale, served in a manner fit for kings and queens and will be forever imprinted on my brain. Cassidy, the concierge on duty for our visit, was a gentleman and a scholar, regaling us with fantastical tales while serving us a delicious mix of concoctions that seemingly allowed us to pierce the veil between this world and the next. How to describe the ephemeral? How to recount the ineffable? These are the only problems you may have when under their fine care. Everyone deserves to taste this beautiful experience but alas, it could never be possible. So, fair reader, I truly hope luck is on your side as this must be lived to be believed. And for those unable to stay overnight in their accommodations, I can without hesitation endorse a night at their bar and lounge. With curated music by some of the finest in the world and a bar staff and live show that is without equal, it truly is the finest party that you can find -- in a location that, while forever moving, is always in just the right place.
