If you need someone to 'alter' documents to get at a figure that you can afford to pay either the federal government or state then he's your guy. He won't ask for a copy of your quickbooks file, instead he will interview you and find out what you are willing to pay then work from there. Last year he advised us not to send out 1099's to our employees and so far he has yet to ask for a file to send out for them. He does the sales tax from the balance sheet and income statement and you can guess the rest. The only thing is he won't sign a document nor can you locate his name on the list of registered CPA's. If you want someone to help you in your business but not be there when the audit comes this is your firm.

Lee Bloom has been our accountant for several years. One year we were audited due to suspicious…read moreclaims. I contacted Mr. Bloom and asked what do I need to do. He said nothing and he will take care of it. I said okay and asked for a follow up. Two weeks passed and I have not heard from Mr. Bloom. I called to follow up on my status and Mr. Bloom said he forgot to mail my receipts (he did not take care of it). Mr. Bloom said he will take care of it in a week and to relax the IRS won't do anything, the worst case I'll have to pay. Again, I trusted Mr. Bloom and waited another 2 weeks!!!!! I called Mr. Bloom AGAIN and he left a message. It took him 2 days to call back. He said he mailed in the receipts. One month later I receive a letter from the IRS stating I owe more money since I did NOT respond to their letter. I called Mr. Bloom again and showed him the letter. His response was, "I mailed in the receipts what do you want from me." I called the IRS myself and spoke with someone, he assisted me on what to do and I was going to mail the receipts myself. I called Mr. Bloom and asked for my receipts back. Mr. Blooms response was in a harsh tone and said he mailed on the originals and DOES NOT have any receipts!!!! In a panic, I called the IRS, they said NO ONE mails original receipts and where did I find my accountant? As a result I had to fish for most of my receipts and had to pay a higher fine. Mr. Bloom showed no interest in working with us, it seemed that once he received our money, he was finished working with us.
