My only complaint was the maxing out of the volume on the sound system, when the bands all played, without hearing protection it was impossible to hear the lyrics. And those that didn't bring hearing protection ended up with a ringing in their ears the following day! The bar was great, I was dismayed when I found out that soda water had a charge above the entrance fee, since part of my tip went toward their register, but somebody has to pay for the bubbles out of their tap! If I go again, I will be certain to bring some extra sets of earplugs for the people that come with me.

I was ecstatic when I learned he would finally visit the US for a tour and Raleigh was a stop. The staff did an amazing job controlling the crowds, providing hospitality, and safety. I parked in General Admission parking where I prepaid $14.00, it's the very last lot on your right. Entering was easy, getting out was a nightmare. Staff is needed following the event to direct the cars out of the spaces. There are other options for parking that will get you closer to the venue for $20+. We stood in line for about 45 minutes prior to entry. The staff managed the check in process very well. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. We were offered filtered water from the cooler jug where we stood for the show facing the front stage by the speakers & entrance to the back stage. Closest to bar and the exit. Cocktails in a cocktail shaker were sold for $22. We had an excellent few of the show. There is upper balcony seating for an additional Upgrade price, if you do not want to stand or be in the midst of the action. The Jupiter Lounge provides an elevated experience prior to show. Allowing you to unwind and have a cocktail. The temperature in the building was set to Alaska. Bring a light jacket and a small clear purse. I really enjoyed this show. The lighting and sound were terrific ! Memories were made. Thank you to the staff.

The artists don't start until about 2-2.5 hours after doors open, so keep that in mind. Found the opener performance for Santigold so boring/annoying after the first 15 minutes that I had to go out front and sit on a fold up chair with the bouncers to get away from it. Note also that you can't get back in e.g. with a stamp and new search; if you leave, you're out for good. Parking: pay for this, especially if you want to arrive later, but bring a smaller car. The guy parked everyone in so tightly and close to the fence we barely got out even with a small sporty vehicle. Purse: something around your neck with just ID and $/card. Don't bring even a clear purse as they'll stop you and go through your wallet anyway, and it's no fun to have on you when you're dancin' to the music. Artists: we've seen some pretty great concerts here, and it's always a more intimate experience. Feist was by far the best. Bring ear plugs to prevent hearing loss. Sound is superior.

On Mondays their drink special is $5 for any draft, what a steal! We all enjoyed a drink and a few games. I love the decor and vibes in Boxcar, the artwork is really punk and cool looking. My favorite game, The Lucky Duck, was broken (the claw wouldn't extend far enough to reach any ducks). I reported this to a staff member and she let me pick out any 2 ducks I wanted! The Pokemon pinball was fun too, I love the variety of pinball machines.

It's never hard to find an ambassador who can tell you exactly where something is and in some cases, they will even take you there themselves. Even in the parking lot, the workers somehow turn tons of traffic into organized chaos. It's great to have this venue so close to where I live and will be back again for another great show soon.

It costs $36 for a double bourbon, and $20 for a tallboy beer. Food is expensive, and while the options have gotten better in the last several years, there isn't anything excited to eat, AND simple things like pretzels and hotdogs are often stale. The bathrooms get so gross sometimes that it's safer to go to the Porta potties - which is a wild statement to make about an outside venue. The seats under the pavilion are only half shaded, I highly recommend getting under the roof in the summer, as that gives you shade and fans. The lawn is a good option too, it's huge, and they run promotions for ticket packs often. You can bring blankets or rent chairs, and there is a lounge area you can upgrade to all the way at the top of the hill. The monitors are small though, so if it's a band you want to SEE, that's not always the best option. I've also started to notice the seats are falling apart, so hopefully with now charging for parking (even in the super far away and under the sketchy bridge lots) they will be able to give the venue an upgrade. Speaking of parking. I usually buy premiere parking since it's close and it's hard to get out when everyone is leaving at once after a show. They have oversold this lot on multiple occasions, so we've been turned away (which completely defeats the point of selling special parking spaces, don't you think?) and I've had to fight with customer service a few times to get my money back. Since they started charging for parking in 2026, I have not had this issue again, so hopefully that is just a thing of the past, but I guess we'll see. Good luck getting a ride-share out of here too. There is barely any service and where you get picked up it's very poorly lit. I won't even bother trying to do that again. Again, it could be a great venue, and honestly if they fixed some of the issues I wouldn't care about how much everything costs. But the way things are, it just feels like a money grab.
